- So glad she is home, she has a very brave owner.
Time that the big shops provided safe dog ties inside the shop under the eye of human security as well as CCTV. As people below have commented, it really isn't safe to leave your dog anywhere including in a vehicle or even your own garden. This is all so sad as it was often the daily trips to shop, primary school etc which broke up the day for many dogs, as well as keeping them socialised. - 2017-02-13 20:04 Unknown
- Absolutely fantastic news. So happy for you Stay close now Maya:-)xxx

- Fantastic news...well done everyone especially to owner for being assertive and brave in front of a drug addict....they are not necessarily reasonable people to negotiate with. Best to check with police as they are the ones who ultimately decide to charge a potential thief....it is always important for police to obtain evidence that a thief has actually stolen the dog which can be frustratingly difficult for them at times,,,it is also why CCTV is now so valuable (and why thieves will steal from gardens to avoid such security). Our prosecution service need to ensure that there is strong evidence to take a defendant to court because the test is ' beyond reasonable doubt' which is why sometimes it takes a long time for decisions to be made and possible hear outcomes we don't want xx

- Sonia - I am so happy for you - that is just the best news today :) :)

Welcome home Maya :) - 2017-02-13 10:27 Sonia
- I found her!!!!! I'm sooooo happy. Thank you everyone for your incredible support and help. I went for a long walk thus morning and bumped into the guy with my dog!! He is a drug addict and looked slightly dagebrous. I took maya away from him immediately and he started making up lies about how he got her. We are pressing charges on him and will post a good description of him on social media. I have the feeling he was after money. Thank you once again to all of you!!! Maya is at home now very tired. I have a bath and nice sausages and she is sleeping on the sofa at the moment!

- Sorry to hear that Maya is missing. I think your best bet is to get hundreds of posters printed and put up around the local area. Also hundreds of mini flyers and give to everyone you see (people with dogs and without). Make her too hot to handle. Hope she's home soon.

- A boxer stolen from outside sainsbury in Blackpool has just turned up. So let's hope for the same for this elderly girl. Publicity is good so share locally as much as possible,
I think opinions and judgements about owner actions are unbelievably mistimed... at the VERY best. Shush! Last edited: 2017-02-12 23:31:08 by Mandaqu - 2017-02-12 22:30 reggiemollieros
- Sonia If you want to add Maya to Battersea database you can do it online via their website under lost dog section. There you will also find an up to date list of local dog wardens. I have also shared on Twitter & Facebook.

Have You Contacted your Local Newspaper / Radio Station ?
(I think) They will only post a story if contacted by the Owner & not a General Member of Public.
Does Maya require Medication ?
anything else which will help Her Theft to attract media attention ?
I am so sorry to have to ask :(

- Sonia - CJ Police Co-ordinator for this Site recently answered my question regarding CAD / Crime No. - Here was the kind reply & I hope it helps you
An incident number sometimes called a CAD is the number police have to give with every visit or phone call or until it is assigned to an officer and they speak with the victim . Then a CRN will be allocated.......unquote
I presume / hope that an Officer will be speaking with you asap & they can reveal the CCTV Footage on Social Media
Plz Do not give up hope - there are soooo many wonderful caring people sharing your beautiful elderly girl right now . #2hot2handle x

- Sonia you would have been featured on that 1 hour tape as you tied her up...as such is is your right to have a copy of the tape...I will copy info below... However as you see in the clause ...unless police are investigating which we totally back as might jeopardise an investigation....In which case you should have been issued with a CRN number and the officers details who are investigating your case....Please forward these details to dogloststolen@gmail.com so our police liason can look into for you.
Request CCTV footage of yourself
You have the right to request closed circuit television (CCTV) footage of yourself.
The CCTV owner must provide this within 40 days, and can charge up to £10.
You need to make a request in writing to the owner of the CCTV system. The owner’s details are usually written on a sign attached to the camera, unless the owner is obvious (like a shop).
You should tell them you’re requesting information held about you under the Data Protection Act, and provide information to help them identify you, like:
a specific date and time
proof of your identity
a description of yourself
The CCTV owner must provide you with a copy of the footage that you can be seen in. They can edit the footage to protect the identities of other people.
The CCTV owner can invite you to a viewing of the footage if:
they’re unable to provide you with the footage itself
you agree with that arrangement
They can refuse your request if sharing the footage will put a criminal investigation at risk.
CCTV footage of a crime
If the CCTV footage relates to a crime and the police have the footage, they will tell you if you can see it.

- Not a good idea to leave your dog unattended outside shops. Dogtheft is on the increase I believe; unfortunately. Is there CCTV in the area where she was taken from? which could help find Maya? . Hope this Senior Citizen is home very soon. Make her "TOO HOT TO HANDLE" She needs to be home with her family. Paws xd.
