- I rang a lady (sue) who had found a ginger terrier bitch in elsecar and i was convinced it would be tina as the area and discription fitted but unfortunatly it wasnt her. The dog found had a docked tail and was younger so it can't be her.Nether the less i am grateful that people like Mel are still passing on information to doglost.Thankyou ! i will keep everyone updated. Good luck to mel and sue in there searches for their own missing pets. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- hi thanks tracy , i already tried derne fm last week, they were very helpful but no one rang in response to there announcments . i have been in regular contact with all the dog wardens and kennels you mentioned other than the dogs trust so i might give them a try this morning.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Keep in touch with Barnsley dog wardens as well, Cliffe Kennels at Hoylandswaine, Mount Pleasant both get dogs from around Barnsley & outskirts. Ponderosa at Allerton Bywater are a bit further out but may be worth ringing them & DogTrust at Leeds. Some rescue's do move dogs around to give them better chance of rehoming. Dearne FM have always been good on promoting missing dogs. 01226 204040 & will do announcements during day at no cost. Hope all of our BT owners have some good news soon. Bonfire Night is always a worrying time for the Doglost volunteers.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Still no news, didnt get any joy from newspaper ad or radio. can't believe no one at all has seen her, she just seems to have vanished. woods where she originally went from are visited every day by the game keeper but she hasnt ventured back there. dont know what she will think to being out alone on bonfire night as the noise will properly spook her even more. i think i will ring kennels again tommorow.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thanks for that tracys, im stuck in all weekend looking after our 4 small children while my husbands working so its great to know people are out and about in the area looking for her. i think i will only be able to make phone enquires over the weekend. i only got one response to the newspaper ad and that was a lady who was convinced teenys in lodgemoor. cant see it myself but stranger thing have happened ! anyway she kept my number incase they catch the poor thing. i just wish i had a more positive sighting cause its like looking for a needle in a haystack. other than the possible sighting on wath road theres been nothing else since she went over two weeks ago so im not even sure im searching the right place. ps. i checked her vet record and shes 16yrs old now which makes me feel worse that shes lost at her age when she should be taking it easy at home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Good to see you on the board. The people around Cortonwood especially RSPD tend to be very helpful. The RSPB centre will allow you put posters up in the activity centre & will also look out whilst they are out with bino's checking on hides. There are as you know lots of paths around the lake but in the past I've found the quickest & easiest route to cover is to park just off road near the blue bridge, & then walk around the lake - I've postered all the benches, buoy holders & bridges before now & they will leave posters up. I am at work tomorrow & Jumanji is away this weekend but /i will try and get down there on Sunday with some posters for you. The best thing to do is use a map & pinpoint where you last saw here & where the sighting was. Most dogs will try in a triangle- difficult thing is to get in front ogf them asap.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I'm sure she'll be fine, you'd be suprised how well dogs cope on their own - I think some actually enjoy the adventure. Like I said i'll head out that area tomorrow with my dog and maybe check out the woods. If you have any sightings in the meantime be sure to update us on here. WESLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thanks for that magik, ive had a look at the map and im now more sure it was tina on wath road as its just over the fields from where she was lost. i drove upto the farm on linthwaite lane but couldnt get anybodys attention and daren't go further up the path as three guard dogs were patrolling. i think it will be safer to try to get hold of the tel no. i did inform the residents of the cottages on linthwaite lane and wath road. problem is the last time she was seen was mon going back into the woods towards linthwaite lane so it depends which way she decided to go. on the other side of wath road is the canal path so if she has eventully crossed the road this is another route she could take.maybe she would reconise the canal area as we sometimes walk from wentworth to corton wood retail centre at brampton along the canal path so she could have found a scent. Thanks so much for offering to take a look its nice to know people are looking out for her. im not so concerned about the fact shes out overnight as she insists on sleeping outdoors all year long at home anyway its the roads that are my main concern. thanks again i will keep everyone updated xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- If you go onto google.co.uk and click on maps than search for wath road... when the map comes up click on Satalite and you will get a satelite view of the area.. you can zoom in too - Although the picture isn't live you can see places and houses you may not known are there. I've just looked up wath road and I've seen 3 farm houses near by on linthwaite lane. You should definately go visit them as most of the fields round there seem to belong to the farm. You can aso see all the fields and woods so you could plan your search. I'm not far from you, I will continue to poster and will have a drive out there with my dog this saturday and have a good look for you. Stay positive! WESLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Still no respose from new paper ad or posters.rang round dog warden, vets, kennels and police again this morning. good news ive managed to get local radio to make some announcements to let people know of the possible sighting. having trouble with posters as area where she was sighted is next to main road with no footpath and woods on either side so mainly cars passing rather than people walking. no shops nearby but i have informed nearest houses although they are quite a bit further up the road. really starting to doubt shes coming home safe....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- hi Tinas owner ! nice to see you have registered on site ! Do try to make sure you check as often as possible at the local pounds and try to go there in person. If she gets handed within the Barnsley District she should get taken to Cliffe Kennels at Hoylandswaine. Now you have a possible sighting of her try to poster in that area to raise public awareness. Stay safe Tina and come home soon xxxxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Hi Tina's owner, thanks for registering and updating helpers. Hope your girl is found soon and you need to poster the area where there has been sightings and where she went missing. Someone may take her in and not realise they should report her to the right authoriies but may see a poster. Jan xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Hello, im Tinas owner i just wanted to thank everyone for their comments, help and advice. unfortunatly im still no closer to finding her. there was a possible sighting on monday on wath road elsecar which joins linthwaite lane. this was quite likely to be her as linthwaite lane is a long lane that runs the length of the woods(rainbrough) where she got lost. The dog seen was stood in the main road and then ran up the embankment back into woods. i have searched the area on weds and thurs with no luck and have left my details at nearby houses and farms. i also put a notice in the local paper as well as letting the usual people know (dog wardens, vets, kennels, police, council, gamekeepers, locals etc). im pretty sure she is still hanging around in the woods or surrounding fields as i have had nobody ring me despite her having a collar and tag on. please please can anybody in this area keep a eye out for her. my fear now that shes reached a road is that she will get herself knocked over.(no road sense at all !) If approached she will more than likely run away but if anyone does get close to her dont worry as she's very placid and hasnt got a bite in her. THANKS AGAIN XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- LOCAL HELP PLEASE FOR THIS OLD GIRL. Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Tina well. Stay safe Tina, until you are home x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
