Mary, thing is, Marshall went missing Friday going into Saturday and was picked up quite quickly. He is chipped and therefore owner's phone number could have been accessed very quickly but it was not. They waited until Monday. Moreover the dog warden who picked Marshalll up could have informed Battersea who also would have had owner's number on file.
It may not feel like a long time to you but the nightmare of not knowing where your dog is and the people out searching if only a few hours is agony. This went on all weekend and yes there is joy he is found but I am concerned procedures were not followed. As a resident of the borough it worries me.
So a call on Saturday would have been very helpful. Marshall was not taken to Battersea he was in a holding kennel.
Mary
Abbalish, this was a weekend so I can't see there has been any undue delay. Missing Sat!urday 25th, registered on here and at Battersea on Sunday 26th and back home at 10am on 27th.

So pleased he has been found but annoyed it took so long to inform you.
All dog wardens, within the M25, are supposed to tell Battersea when they pick up a stray dog.
If they had done that you would have been put out of your misery sooner. I don't undetstand what scanner people they were waiting for?
Anyway so happy for you.
If you get any answers please let us know.
Thank you.

If you haven't already, would be worth registering Marshall as lost with local dog wardens too: Lambeth https://www.lambeth.gov.uk/parking-transport-and-streets/streets-and-roads/lost-or-stray-dogs , Wandsworth https://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/forms/form/200/lost_dog_reporting and Kensington and Chelsea (they pick up 'contained stray dogs' although their advice if your dog is lost is to contact Battersea Dogs home) https://www.rbkc.gov.uk/environment/environmental-health/animal-warden-services. Fingers crossed he turns up very soon x

Thanks Abbie.. I called Battersea and they have this link as well so they know what he looks like and they are keeping an eye out all people who need to know have been informed.. I am just hoping that someone has taken him in and will hand him over today or tomorrow to a home or a vet. I am doing all I can.. Tomorrow calling the council to let them know I will be putting posters up and will be printing some flyers up as well to put in peoples letterboxes if his not returned by tomorrow.

Has owner made a visit to Battersea to check for themselves just in case chip has not been picked up or failed in some way?
Also a comment was posted about another dog missing on facebook whcih says ...If B has been picked up by Westminster warden it might be worth you checking RSPCA Harmsworth 0300 123 0712 as when I lived in Westminster my dog was taken there on a friday evening and I have known RSPCA pick up a dog from Hornchurch over the weekend and taken there....just a thought. This might be worth checking for Marshall? Have shared fbook
