UPDATE : I went to Taggs Island - 3 experts have been contacted and sent the pictures. All believe that the animal is most likely to be a fox. It is however difficult to be sure without being able to check the tail that is partially submerged in the river. Unfortunately the river bank is too dangerous to attempt to move the body unaided.... Thanks for advice and help from those contacted x

Wonder why the vet didn't take it and pass onto a cremation agency even through the Council instead of people having to pass by! So pleased I have a caring vet who take in for me and dispose if there is no owner!

I contacted a local vet in Hampton who met with me last night she scanned the body but sadly no chip. Doesn't look like a spaniel as I first thought slightly smaller. Impossible to tell what breed it is as it looks like it's been in the water a while. Also part of the fur that's missing is not an operation but just where it'so been in the water for a while. Drove past this afternoon and poor thing is still there as council still haven't collected it yet.Last edited: 2017-03-07 19:58:27 by ging734

Past experiences of dogs that have been in the water for a considerable amount of time and thinking of your concerns for dogs that have been missing for a long period of time there really wouldn't be a lot left of them and very much doubt that these remains are of a dog that has been missing for over a year. Hope this helps to rule out those missing dogs.

Is it possible to rule out Maisie (99018) please? Believed she fell into the river in Surbiton a year agoLast edited: 2017-03-06 21:23:32 by csquaredb

@ging734 Hi, is it possible for you to let me know if this poor baby was taken to a vet to be scanned for a chip. I'd like to be able to rule out Rafiki and another dog lost overboard on the Thames in Thames Ditton. Would you mind contacting me on the Where's Rafiki FB page www.facebook.com/missingspringerspaniel Thanks so much. Natasha x

Is it possible to confirm the dog is 100% brown or brown/white? Is there any way finder is able to confirm approximately how long the dog has been in the water, any chip and gender. not sure if dog was found by someone able to give an indication as trying to rule one out. Thank you
BigGSDPatlucky
Could someone check for a chip?
