Very sad update via post on Missing Pets, Perh and Kinross Scotland:
"Just to let everyone know i cant thank you enough how much help and support you all gave to look for our missing dog! Sadly we have had a phone call from network rail and diesel has been taken by a train and his collar has been found at the side of the railway track thanks to everyone who went out there way to help us but sadly diesel is no longer with us sleep tight diesel".

From Missing Pets, Perth and Kinross Scotland:

There has been a possible sighting of Diesel tonight in Stanley, Perthshire. If this him in fits in with the theory that he is using the railway like to travel and stay hidden. Please help and share!!!

'Hi, we have just been out walking our dog up Perth road in Stanley, just in front of us a large black shape crossed the road into the railway tracks on the Perth road side of the tracks, there was another gentleman there who saw the same shape and looked over the railway bridge and we both heard rustling in the bushes. It's so so dark but we are convinced the shape we saw was way bigger than a cat, defo not a fox and in our heads it's Diesel. We have been back down after dropping our dog off at home but it's just so dark for us to see anything. We are desperately hunting for him all round the village but this is defo the first sighting of something that we were not expecting.'

Have texted owner suggesting calling Network Rail.

UPDATE: The Langdyke found was NOT Diesel.

***POSSIBLE SIGHTING OF DIESEL***
There has been a black lab fitting Diesels description seen along the cycle path at the River Almond from Huntingtower to Almondbank, Perth. Can everyone keep a very close eye out in this area for him please!
'In response to Deisel the black lab A black lab has been walking along the cycle track which follows the Almond River from Huntingtower to almondbank.. It has been sighted here the last 2 mornings sniffing around but couldnt get close enough to get near to see tag. My partner is working near to here and will keep an eye out for him and take a lead and biscuits tomorrow with him. It doesnt appear to have an obvious owner my partner has only become.aware when we were discussing tonight. He says the lab has a red collar. Xx'
