A dog only described as Male un neutered. Large, liver & White, no ID. Found: 3.11.07 has been been left on the www.amissingpet.co.uk. Found in Evedon, Sleaford, Lincs. Finder only leaves number as: 07811 244563. Could be worth a ring as liver and white mainly describes spaniels!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Berties Mum I will leave the poster in Debras window until your Bertie is home with you. Lots of people look at it and I know all the local Doggy folk are thinking of you. Think positive! Lindsey (Manager Debra Charity holmfirth). xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Berties mum, I work at the Debra Charity in Holmfirth. I have put a poster in our window. I know alot of locals are looking out for him! Yesterday I drove up the Holme Moss road, It may be an idea to put posters in the big laybys going down toward the woodhead road as they have a good view toward Black Hill? As a dog lover (I have three) i can only imagine what you are going through. Fingers crossed that your baby is soon home. Lindsey Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

sorry im too far away to help, but good luck, will be thinking of you. Can you use the story of your getting a free chopper trip to generate some more media interest?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Me again, police have been told, so have vets, will take poster to Meltham pet shop. I live in Upperthong approx 4 miles from where he went missing. We've postered everywhere round the moor from Dovestones in Greater Manchester to the Derbyshire side. I've spoken to the park ranger, friends in the Hunt and local farmers. Been to the local pubs and also left leaflets with the butty van which parks on the moor near where the walk starts. I've also been out accosting any walkers with leaflets and had a very positive response from all.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Bertie is my dog. He's a rescue dog I got in Feb. He's 16 mths old and had some sort of trauma on his back left leg when he was young. He's has 2 major ops on this leg and had just been signed off by NW Surgeons. We've been through so much together and now I've lost my baby. I've spent hours and hours this week searching the moors for him. Ive been up there with Woodhead Mountain rescue and Pennine Helicopters took me up there yesterday for nearly an hour for free which was incredible. I've rallied my friends and several search parties are on their way out this afternoon. I've also arranged for an article on him in the local paper to raise awareness. Please do everything you can for him, he deserves a good life. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi there, I will put up notices at Calder Vets Huddersfield and Donaldsons Vets in Thongsbridge (Holmfirth). Has anyone left this notice with the Police Station in Holmfirth. Will keep an eye out. Does anyone on here live near Meltham?? Has anyone left notices at the Petshop in Meltham?? The guy who owns it is a dog trainer and runs classes all over the place so he might be a good contact to have, someone could maybe give him some notices for his classes and customers. Where does the owner live could Bertie be trying to make his way home?? Hope he's back soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks annmarie-owner has informed all police stations in the area but as we know from doglost another call may be needed to jog their memories.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Marina Kennels have had no springers handed in. They suggested owner ring Holmfirth police and Huddersfield police stations if they have not already done so. They advise there is a chance he may have been taken to Springfield kennels in Wakefield depending upon where picked up by dog warden- Number is 01924271028 I have spoken to them he is not in yet but they said to keep ringing. I live in Netherton - 5 mins away from Holmfirth. Will make sure all local dog watchers are aware that Bertie is missing and will carry extra lead and treats in case I see him. I have also rung my friend who is currenly out with8 dog walkers in Meltham woods which almost link to Holmfirth who are watching for him now. Have you tried Marina Kennels? I have been trying to ring them but constantly engaged. Local dog clubs in the area are Huddersfield K9 training Honley dog training club Springers agility and flyball. All of these clubs have high numbers of local people with dogs who would watch out for Bertie. Hope this is some help. Will print poster and put in local shops, post office etc. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
