Just spoke to owner, when Lotte went missing the park was very busy, when they noticed she had gone they had friends turn up at the park to help look for her, owner assured me the park has been well searched, my advice make reward public on all post.

The area Lottie went missing from Bridge to play park, although not really a bridge this is a shallow soak away and pretty wide lots of ducks in the shallow water, if Lottie fell or went into this area there are upright bars possibly wide enough for a small dog to fit through, the drain goes under the path and eventually Dorcan Stream, not sure if the water surfaces anywhere else in Coate. The picture shows the bridge walk way on the left the play park just out of view to the right, below the bridge is the large soakaway area.

map of Coate http://www.bbc.co.uk/wiltshire/content/articles/2006/08/17/the_richard_jefferies_walk_map_feature.shtml
If walking on the bridge by the nature reserve there are many ways a dog could have gone, the nature reserve that is mainly water, a small wood, fields along side the M4 an over the M4 Bridge fields, woods and Chiseldon

Is she still missing? Walked at coate this morning and didn't see any posters or info? Strange there have been no sightings as hundreds of people, dogs , joggers, walkers there everyday especially in this nice weather. Has the owner contacted the rangers, the staff at Broome manor golf course which is adjacent, etc ? There is also a farm nearby. The new housing estate etc etc. Last edited: 2017-03-31 11:50:57 by lynne

Sounds like a Staffy and that was 4 hrs ago apparently
Linda ,Swindon volunteer (who lives local to Coate 07738594067 ) has been to Coate ,had a look round and see more Posters are needed please if anyone going over (Ticket machine, notice board , Cafe ,could do with one ) sightings are needed so Posters are great for awareness. You can download one from here
Good idea to keep checking back (or stay there ) where lost as Dogs do go back looking for Mum & Dad , &/or may possible try for home .Last edited: 2017-03-30 21:05:29 by Reynard

This is from the dog lost swindon page, they do think she might be stolen, but she coukd have fallen in a hole/ditch.She went missing at coate water near the bridge it might be a good idea to know which side, the playground side or the side which goes off to the nature reseve?anyway hee is what they wrote:"We've lost one of our dogs up Coate Water, it looks more like she's been taken, as she's a plodder and never tuns sround, just sniffs and dawdles. This was sbout 12.45 today Her name is Lotte, Mini Schnauzer, really quiet and docile, permanent underbite, salt n pepper, wuth brown tinges to her beard. I'll send a piccy too. There is a reward fo her find"
Skywalker99
what does the comment 'and how it happened is strange' mean? if there is a possibility this dog has been stolen need to be all over social media....lots of posters...and try contacting www.k9tracker.co.ukLast edited: 2017-03-29 14:48:21 by Skywalker99

C1981 can anyone get a tent and sleepingbags and a bbq and sit at the spot where she went missing, with mackrel and bacon, just sit still no calling very often they come back to the spot where they went missing. My dog did at 4 am,I sat in my car with the door open and I saw him,i jumped out and called him and e ran away again,i stayed at the same spot, switched my lights off an an hour later he reappeared,i sat still with no eye contact and he came up to the car,as you cannot drive a car into coate I thought a tent be good, hopefully there will be a search party soon,i'm more than willing to help,i know how they feel i was beyond devastated when my boy went missing.Have faithLast edited: 2017-03-29 14:20:51 by bdurrant
