- As Mr Hodges is usually a "Homeboud" cat he is possibly shut in somewhere. When checking outbuildings make sure he isn`t hiding behind an object within. Put his unwashed blanket into a clean container, along with your scent on too. Leave in the garden in a sheltered spot, or hang on the washing line if dry; used towels too. Empty contents of the vacuum on to the garden as his scent will be there. Wipe his scent on garden fences, gates, doors too. Best to search when it is dark; early morning/night. Try a squeaky toy when it is quiet, as it may attract his attention. The door where has access to wipe his scent around it. Open the door, and stand at the side (Not in the centre) or he may feel "Tnhreatened" and run off if anything like my cats. Inside the door put some chicken or tuna in his dish, and rattle some dreamies. When homely cats /indoor cats go awol. they can be very nervous, and sometimes too scared to move, even though their it is theri owner calling them. Different with condifent cats. Poster around the area, and put flyers through doors too. Dont forget to check empty houses, and cellars. When looking for him try to wear the same deodorant say which you use on a daily basis. With cats it is all about scent. Just becasue you cant seee your cat, doesn`t mean he is too far away. My neighbours cat once went awol for about two weeks (Neutered) After postering, he was "Found" very near to his own house being fed by someone else. Paws xd he is home soon
