- Indoor cats dont tend to go far at all. When outside they feel very scared, and panicky. He is more, than likely hiding somewhere, so check all outbuildings, in case shut in. When checking buildings make sure he isn`t hiding behind an object within. Indoor, and timid cats will especaially stay very still, and quiet in these circumstances, because they are feeling so nervous. The door where has access to, open wide, and stand aside (Not in the centre) As he may feel "Threatened" even though you are the owner, it is just a cats instinct. Put some chicken or tuna inside the door, a few inches away, and rattle some dreamies. Wipe his scent all around the door frame too. Take a walk around the area, taking a squeaky toy with you, as it may attract his attention. Very gently call his name. Even though you may not be able to see him, he may respond. The best time to look is when it is dark, and quiet. Take a torch too, as the light will reflect the cats eyes. . Also wipe his scent on garden fences etc. It is good that he is neutered too, When you see him coming home, act as though him going awol has been no big deal, or he may run off again... Indoor cats feel mcuh more safe, and secure when they are inside their own homes with their owners whom they trust. Hope Wriggley is home very soon. Paws xd.Last edited: 2017-04-20 21:05:40
