I check the site every day. I really hope you find Miner soon, my thoughts are with you, having been there, I know how awful it is. I was lucky, I really hope you are too. Fingers crossed, my baby was gone for 7 weeks, so don't give up hope, Dog Lost is the best place to be, if anybody can find him, they can!!! If it hadn't been for Jazzie I would never have got her back. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, our dog was stolen in very similar circumstances in April near Kettering. So, firstly, chin up: her dog was found but it took a lot of effort. Contact all of the following immediately: BBC Radio Northampton (northamptonshire@bbc.co.uk), Northants 96.6 (News Hotline on 01604 79 56 91) and BBC Local TV News Look East (look.east@bbc.co.uk). All three were brilliant in hosting interviews, telling the story and giving publicity. Equally helpful were the newspapers Northampton Chronicle and Echo (www.northamptonchron.co.uk) and the Evening Telegraph (www.northantset.co.uk). They ran stories free of charge and offered decent prices on adverts. Absolutely crucial in finding our dog though were the Northamptonshire CTU (Community Traveller Unit, part of the Northants Police Force). PC Mark McDonnel was brave enough to go into the Traveller camp where the dog had been sited and grab him back for us. His email is mark.mcdonnell@northants.police.uk but the main contact is Jane Roy, Support Officer for the Northamptonshire Countywide Traveller Unit Tel: 01604 837247 Fax: 01604 837230. They're based at Kingsthorpe and were really supportive. I think you may not get hold of them until Monday so target the TV and radio stations and papers til then - they never sleep. And posters are so important. There are so many people who want to help, it's actually quite moving. Don't wait for a ransom demand to come in, in case it's not coming. Be proactive now and also contact specific organisations like Terrier organisations plus all the usual people who are out and about in the locality everyday like milkmen, vets and postmen (postmen deliver to traveller camps and ours put up posters in the sorting office for all their colleagues to keep and eye out too) etc. And most important of all, ring the dogs homes and the general Northants police stations EVERY day. They have a very poor logging system and it's just best to ring them every day to remind them of the crime and where they can findLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just want to wish you the best of luck... my terrier was also possibly 'taken' from kennel just the day before in NN9... :( These kind people have passed on these details: A few useful numbers. Northampton Dog Warden 01604 838000. Wellingborough D.W. 01933 229777 Kettering D.W. 01536 410333. The council dog wardens take found dogs to kennels at Grendon ( I don't know the number for this) and The Forest Lodge Kennels at Quinton 01604 862239. You need to ring these everyday as they need to be chased. Rachel Morgan is the NFU Farmwatch contact for this area, her number is 01536 741710. The community traveller Unit is based at the Kingsthorpe Housing Office. Heather is really helpful, her number is 01604 837247. She works with Sgt Mark Mcdonnell, his email is mark.mcdonnell@northants.police.ukLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
