- I suspect owner Kim is busy giving Ollie extra hugs so I will update status on her behalf and share her message as requested:
"So at 4pm today, this wee guy walked through the door all by himself. I have so much to say so brace yourselves...
First of all, wee Ollie is ok - took him straight to vets and his paw pads are shredded to bits. He is severely dehydrated but he will be mended with antibiotics, medicine and lots of love...
Secondly, I just want to say how powerful social media is. I just cannot believe how fast my plea circulated, and how the help came pouring in fast and furious.
Which takes me onto my last point. The power of humanity - through friendships, associations and communities. Never in my life have I seen such amazing power generated from a community both on Facebook but most importantly, Cambuslang. I just cannot express my awe at how much support I have been given over the last 30 hours from friends, family and strangers. Each and every single one of you have been amazing and each of you have made a contribution in getting Ollie home. There are just no words to express my gratitude.
I have learned loads over the past day. Never scroll past a post when someone needs help - no matter how small...But Mostly that human kindness is in abundance. And that communities when they get together can be powerful and strong. I have renewed old friendships and made new ones - I am so unbelievably lucky to not only get my boy back but to gain a few friends along the way.
I want to say thank you to everyone individually - if you see me out with Ollie, please come and say hi so I can thank you in person.
I need one last push - to try and ensure this post gets far and wide so I can tell people how grateful I am for their help, support and good wishes - I'm bowled over.
So who needs Greyfriars Bobby when we have Wee Cambuslang Ollie - the community dog!!!
Thanks again xxx" - 2017-05-03 17:10 GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland
