Rosie has been found. Dear Shelagh, I'm delighted to let you know that Rosie has been found!!! Thank you for all your help and support during the days that Rosie was missing. Thanks to all of the Isle of dogs community searchers for helping us through this terrible ordeal with trying to find the ever evasive Rosie. You will all be invited to a marina party date to be confirmed to thank you for all the help and support you've given us during this horrific last 12 days. We just rang Rosie's mum and she can't believe what's happened. She will sleep for the first time tonight in ages as so will Rosie She is now catching up with her beauty sleep. See attached photos of Rosie being found in the farm and now safe sleep in the boat having sweet dreams. Thanks forever for being so kind and thoughtful. A very special thank you to Kyr who has been in touch virtually every hour of the day and has been roaming the Island and Poplar in search for Rosie. Her energy and enthusiasm to help find Rosie has been boundless and will not ever be forgotten. Maggie XXX
Shelagh
Ok yes that farm does have few exits. Good luck with trap later. Stay safe little Rosie until you can get back to your owner.xx
Maggie
More sightings today of Rosie on Mudchute farm. Too fast to catch as many exits to the farm. Photos taken by a lady who is there at about 1 PM today. See attached photos. I am waiting to hear from a dog tracking expert this afternoon so that we can set up some a trap in the bushes opposite the marina pump out tonight.
Shelagh
Have emailed you advise on how to retrieve Rosie if you see her.
Shelagh
Ok a feeding station will need to be set up first before a trap can be set. Nicki has no doubt told you procedure. Unfortunately all you can do is wait for another sighting oruse a tracker.
Maggie
I am going to make contact with Nicki, a dog tracker this afternoon as Rosie cannot be seen by me, therefor I cannot even see if I can get her to come to me. I think as Rosie moves so fast, the on,of way we can catch her now may be to set some traps. Will listen to any advice I get for getting hold of Rosie. Shelagh, I followed your ur advice last night again, but did not sit out in the rain (hiding). Will keep you updated. Thanks. Maggiexx
Maggie
New sightings of Rosie this morning. First scene at McDougal Gardens at 6 am today. (See attached photos taken by a guy who did not know she was missing). We have a def photo sent of her. Amsterdam Road at 8.0 5 AM, then running past Cubitt town Hall polling station at approximately 8:30 AM, next scene at Jubilee Crescent Place. Please do not attempt to approach our call out Rosie as she is very nervous and will just run away. We are currently sitting at Asda's carpark in the hope that Rosie will appear somewhere between Mudchute Farm and Asda as she did on Tuesday when last cited. Can the local community please try not to actively walk around looking for Rosie as she will run scared and keep changing locations. The best approach will be if any of the community have cars and give some time to just drive around and see if there's any sightings and to then, ring me ASAP on (07917) 428023. Thanks Maggie.
Shelagh
That is great. Make sure scented item near Marina is hidden! Pushed under something,or sheltered by something.. If scented item is dark, you may see dog hair on it. Please leave water as well. If you are watching please make sure you are hidden and silent. Not easy I know. Have you got access to a vehicle you could sit in.
Maggie
Thanks Shelagh for your helpful advice as below. The problem we have with living on a marina is that there's just one main marina gate which is locked unless opened by a fib for the boaters who live here. For Rosie to reach us, she needs to run past approx 30 boats. We cannot keep the gate opened at night as this would not be allowed by the marina management and could lead to a breach in security on the marina

Your suggestion below would be ideal if we lived Ina house/flat with a gate or gated garden.

Re last night we placed food and a scented garment at the last place that Rosie was seen last night and another plate of food and and scented garment in a dark spot not far from the marina gate with the urine /water trail in between both locations. We waited in hiding until 2 am and then went to bed as no sighting of Rosie

When we went to check the food this morning, we found the food near to the marina all gone (but this may have been another dog that ate this) and when we checked the food at the first destination where Rosie was last seen, all the food bowel and garment had been removed. We then realised that we placed these items in a bush that is part of land that maintained by posh flats' maintenance/ service staff so they must have removed these.

We will try this again tonight but place the food and garments in slightly different locations but not far from where these were placed last night and do the urine/water trail in between both sites

As you know already, there's not been any sightings reported on missing Rosie as yet today but we'll keep searching for her

Thanks as always Shelagh

Really sorry I can't make search at moment, prior arrangements, hospital visiting and school run. Please call me if you need further advice. If everybody sticks to what you are doing you will get her. Good luck.
Maggie
Morning Shelagh, nit sure if you can make it but I sent out the message below to gather all helpers this morning:-
Last sighting of Rosie las night at 9.30 pm approximately at Boardwalk Place area nearby to the marina where I live. Can I please ask a favour of all really helpful searchers out there? I need you to just keep really low key whilst searching for Rosie, do not call her name or approach her. Just phone me asap.

Also if possible, it would be great if we could all meet up asap say 10.30 am this morning outside the Nisa Store Cubit area. I have lots more posters to stick up but we also need to agree on separate locations to look for Rosie. I hope this is ok and look forward to meeting you all at 10.30 am. Thanks. Maggie (07917 428023)

When a dog is out a while, it has to go into survival mode. In other words using her instinct to survive. People and other animals become a threat to them, even owners and animals they live with. That is my opinion only. You know Rosie and please do what you think is best to get her home.xx
Maggie
Ok. Thanks Shelagh. Advice below noted. I will ask searchers to do their best to refrain from using their dogs for the above reasons. Thanks. Maggie
Shelagh
Well I usually find that a dog that has been out for a while perceives everything as a danger, even owner. Reason being, others have tried to "catch" her,so to her people mean the . Same with dogs, yes searchers dogs are friendly, but have other dogs approached her while she has been out, causing her to run. It's up to you of course, you know Rosie. That just my way of doing it! Others may do different.xx
Maggie
Great. Thanks Shelagh. A lot of the searchers have friendly dogs they're walking whilst looking out for Rosie. Why should they refrain from bringing their dogs out? Rosie loves other dogs. Will send out low key message as advised to all searchers. Thanks. Maggie
Shelagh
Hi Maggie. Wardens do not look for stray dogs. Purpose of contacting them really is so they can "match up" lost and found! I expect Rosie went to group with all activity yesterday. Please tell your searchers, keep everything "low key". If people just walk around they will see her. A lot of activity is counter productive right now.Keep your search numbers small,No dogs! Split them up into areas you want them to focus on. Make sure they all know procedure if they c her. You are doing fantastic. You will get Rosie back soon.
NickyB
good to see rosie has been sighted and i am sure your patience will pay off, keeping fingers crossed. regarding dog wardens - they only come out to caught dogs.......... i just learnt that this week. i though when u reported stray dogs they came out to search and catch - but not so.
Maggie
Update:-
Message left to a query from a searcher for Rosie:-
I've left messages with the Tower Hamlets' Dog Warden's office about 5 times. To be honest, all that happens every time you ring the office, you only get to speak to a receptionist and not the warden. They then check up your file and leave your updated status re missing Rosie for the warden. Despite you leaving your number, you never hear anything from the warden. So it feels a little bit of an empty experience. In all our searches for Rosie on the Island and in Poplar, we've not come across any warden searching. I think their main focus may be to focus on stray dogs that already have been captured. Sadly although we stayed up until 2 am in hiding outside the marina having left a trail of good scented goodies along from the last point that Rosie was seen/ Boardwalk Place around 9.30 pm right up to a secluded place outside the marina, we had no further sightings of Rosie last night. So we feel that although Rosie may have come out of hiding since she left Poplar Dock Marina early hours of 29 May and there were the first of more than 20 sightings of her for the first time yesterday, she is being spotted nearer to the marina where we are, so we have annual leave from today right up to 15 June so can spend many hours searching for Rosie. As always, so many local Community residents have been in touch via the FB groups who are actively out there searching for Rosie and other dog Lost organisations, Mudchute Farm etc, we look forward to hearing of any other helpful sightings this week to help guide us as to where she is. Please all searchers, if you see Rosie, do not call her name or attempt to approach her. Just keep a distance and calmly ring me asap on 07917 428023. Rosie is an extremely nervous ex rescue dog. Many thanks to all. Maggie
Maggie
Before Shelagh's advice to follow 3 x reliable friends saw Rosie but she ran. This was 40 mins ago. Have laid down the products and will hide in a dark place.
Shelagh
Great news so many sightings. I will send another email with some scenting advice etc. Come on little Rosie, time to go home now......
Maggie
Been looking all day for Rosie with many new sightings of her from Asdas Isle of Dogs, to Manchester Road, Millwall Park,Stewart Street, Cubbit School, Amsterdam rd, Wood wharf construction site, side turnings before Poplar Dock Marina where I live, round about Poplar, East India DLR Station, Orchard Place towards Trinity Bouye Wharf. Last real sightings about 12.30 today. Have been searching right up to 5.30 today from 8.15 am. Other great people now out looking for a Rosie whilst I rest and charge my mobile. Out again later for search on bicycles. Thanks all. Maggie
Shelagh
Spoke to owner. If people are looking for Rosie, please Look only! Don't call her. If seen please turn and walk away from her and call owner. Rosie is getting really scared now and she is very close to a train station!
Maggie
There's been 3 independent sightings of Rosie this morning on the Island (Isle of dogs). Have been out searching. All very wet but could not see her. Back at Poplar Dock Marina to put on dry clothes and re charge my mobile. Then out again. Am about to cancel my holiday to Italy tomorrow as I cannot enjoy it whilst Mikey's mum's Rosie is missing and need to support Mikey's mum back home. Would be great if I could find her today and bring her safely home to her mum. Thanks for all your ur support. Maggie
Maggie
Thanks Shelagh for your for your further advice. I just received a call from East End Advertiser at 11 am today and they'll place an advert for Rosie in the paper on Thursday.
Maggie
Eventually got through the myriad of numbers. I've registered Rosie as lost with full details re when she left the marina. The person I spoke to advised that as Rosie is on Premium membership, an immediate alert will go all to all vets, welfare officers that should capture dog wardens too with 30 miles of the marina. If found or any messages are relayed to PetLog, Shirley (Rosie's mum) will be called on your land line and they also have my mobile to ring.

So fingers crossed she will be sighted or handed into someone. Delayed reporting this loss as I thought Shirley or and friend had reported this loss to PetLog some days ago

Hi Shelagh and fellow volunteers, I hope you are well? No sightings of Rosie as yet although I did have a couple of close matches reported to me. The main thing now is knowing that Rosie is not in the dock water space. 100 further posters put up yesterday. I have also logged Rosie as missing with the Newham dog warden. I was just wondering though of your organisation can log Rosie as missing with the other neighbouring dog wardens such as Hackney, The City, Islington, Camden, Barking & Redbridge and the local vets in these areas?

Just a thought. Would be good to hear from you. Many thanks again. Maggie
Maggie
Latest update re missing Rosie.

The company that manage the marina carried out a closer viewing of the cc tv video and Rosie was spotted legging it out of the marina gate when a boater was coming in at 00.17 hours on Monday 29 May. She was spotted running away to the left so could be in Poplar or Canning Town area. This means that Rosie is not in the Dock water which is the greatest relief for me. Needless to say Shirley her mum, was relieved too to hear of this development. Many thanks for keeping in touch. Bit please all keep a look out. I'll be placing more posters in the above 2 areas. Any sightings please ring me on 07917 428023

Mikey's mum (Shirley) came to the marina yesterday. We spent all day walking around the Marina, Trinity Bouy Wharf where we used to walk Rosie and Canary Wharf with Shirley calling out Rosie using her favourite sqeezy toy, but still no sound or sight of Rosie. Shirley explained that as Rosie is such a nervous dog, even if she is hiding, she will not make a sound to guide you to where she is

I will replace all rain damaged posters today and pin up new ones around the area

Please contact me any time asap if you have any updates on 07917 428 023. Thanks

Maggie
Maggie
Yes Many posters outside the marina, top end of Polar High Street, top end of the Isle of Dogs and Mudchute Farm. Although we rang the local vets some days ago too, I will pop into the local vets with posters of Rosie today. Many thanks. Maggie
Shelagh
Sorry no news on Rosie! Are posters outside of Marina?
Maggie

I would like to send a huge thank you to Shelagh who has been really helpful with providing very sound advice around next steps to take for finding Rosie. Hot foood and water outside and inside the boat tonight when if she's hiding somewhere on the marina, she may appear for food and water. I will hide
Somewhere quiet for an hour to see if she appears Will send updates tomorrow. Thank you. Maggie
