  • Date Reunited 31 May 2017
  • Other Info Meg is a nervous rescue dog who is quite attached to me and bolts if I'm not around. She slipped through the front door past my partner whilst I was at work. She wasn't wearing her collar and therefore no tag. This is the second time we've lost her and I'm in pieces

Hi Sue, I've looked at lots of them too, but think I'm going with the one I went to look at last weekend (the Nano). A neighbour has one and we know it works in this area and is nor overly expensive, I think £85 plus £60 for annual subscription. You do need a collar with ordinary buckle though so it can be slid on. If I get it sorted before the weekend I'll let you know and you can have a look at it if you have time, Pat

Hi, thanks for your lovely comments xx I am definitely planning to get a tracking device, I've looked at some online but didn't realise there were so many on the market! :-/ What I didn't mention was that Meg disappeared on the day my mum was in hospital undergoing a hip replacement operation - was a stressful day!! I'm so very grateful Meg came home when she did. She's fast asleep by my feet as I type... butter wouldn't melt :)

So pleased she's home - she is obviously learning that she does have a good home to go to! I've spoken to a few people locally with tracking devices and even though mobile signal can be patchy they all say they work very well (90-95% coverage). I'm off to look at some at Pets Corner (Wyvale, Woodbridge) on Sunday.

Dear all, thank you so much once again for your support and help! My errant pooch has bought herself home after a night galavanting around the nature reserves over here. I'm absolutely shattered, but so relieved she's ok. All I know of her background is that she was from a farm in Ireland, so I'm beginning to think she was of the latch-key variety and just did as she pleased. We will have to think carefully about how we manage her, she is a real sweetie, love her to bits, but I can't cope with this on a regular basis!! Thanks again for your much needed support, love Sue & Meg

As last time I will monitor this page whilst at work today and if she's not home will try to get outthis evening around Eastbridge/Minsmere/Dunwich areas. My collie always has his collar on and I've just ordered new tags with a message saying "if I'm alone please phone someone is looking for me" as he occasionally bolts when he hears the dustcart. Luckily I've seen which direction he's gone and managed to catch up with him on my bike eventually. He's very friendly and approaches people for a fuss but they never quite know what to do hence the message on the new tag. I'm also looking into getting him a tracker - but need to update my phone first! Hope she's found or finds her way home a bit quicker than last time - the waiting and wondering must be agony.Last edited: 2017-05-31 10:46:25 by Paw
