Family friend has confirmed that Walter is fine but has dropped a bit of weight, and has been taken to Vets4Pets who offered a free checkup.

Walter is going to the local vet for a check up but appears ok - thank you to the vet for offering Walter a free check up. I am sure he will get lots of cuddles.

All I know so far is that he was spotted running up the side of A6 back to McDonalds roundabout. People alerted searchers and he was caught at crash site, presumably by one of the people he knows. He is ok as far as I know.

Thank you so much to Walters dog walking group who came out with buddies of Walter yesterday and today and had a plan in place for tonight. You were crucial in keeping Walter closeby. Well done

Just so so happy for the family.
This morning it was raining hard and I advised he would be hiding until it stopped, he would then come out and return to site of accident - he did just that and family were there.
We must now let the family grieve for the loss of a family member - at least will help a little.

I would emphasize what Jenny says. PLEASE DO NOT GO AND SEARCH UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN ASKED TO DO SO. There are people there with Italian greyhounds who are known to Walter. They will get him if given time and space to do so. If other people do not back off, they are putting Walter's life at risk.

I have just spoken to a helper who has a dog Walter knows - who I asked to go - he says it is is bedlum - so many people out. He has spoken to in excess of 20 random people. No wonder Walter has bolted!

Please please can people stay away from the area - Walter has just been seen spooked and run! He was asleep but was disturbed There is a busy A road and a railway nearby.
We have a buddy of Walter in the area.

sure already done but is someone he knows parked up in a car where the crash happened? maybe with the door open (if poss) and some clothing of the late owners outside and inside the car. This is so sad for all concerned I do hope the outcome is good, stay safe dear Walter x

I have just spoken to some helpers on site and given them all some instructions. There are 2 people there now with dogs that Walter knows and I have spoken to one of them with advice and Walter was seen 20 minutes ago - please please can I ask everyone for the moment to leave the area clear and quiet. Perhaps wait at the nearby McDonalds in case your help is needed.

I have drawn this to attention of Ray Dedicoat who is prepared to help. Thee is heavy rain and strong winds in the East Midlands at present which my dog would find a major hindrance in tracking but I will watch the page and see if when we can help. PLEASE help WALTER ran off from a crashed car yesterday afternoon on the corner of the Langtons/Foxton cross roads just before the McDonald's on the A6 market harborough. His mum owner sadly passed away in the crash. We need to find him he's an Italian Greyhound. Thank you so much xx
