From Sham's owner.....A couple of years ago Santa bought Sham her favourite Christmas present ever 🎅🎁. It's still here waiting for you to come home beautiful. Wish you were here and could cosy up with us for our Christmas eve tradition, we could all squeeze onto the sofa for Christmas eve snuggles and movies like we have done for many years, it won't be the same without you stealing all the space despite being the smallest. I hope santa finds you and gives you a comfy bed to snooze in front of the fire, a belly full of food and a reminder that no matter where you are we love you and miss you more than words 😞 Wish he could bring you home 💔

Dog roaming in Littleborough area, may or may not be Sham but definitely out on it's own been spotted a number of times yesterday and again today at 4.15am.
CarolineS
The last comment update wasn't Sham, it was a male reunited with owner. Still no confirmed sightings, all possible sightings ruled out.

Just been notified of a dog similar looking to Sham seen in woodland off Belfield Lane today at 12:45pm. Anyone who is near this area please keep an eye out, we'll be in the area as soon as I can get there but as I've no car and no one to look after baby at the minute we'll be hoping it's spotted again 😔

Please share to anyone you may know in this area, remember not to chase as if it is her she won't come to anyone willingly and it may scare her out of the area. Take smelly treats and throw them away from you, gain trust slowly sit down, no eye contact let her come to you. Take a picture if possible so we can work with that.

It may not be Sham but it is possible given two other possible sightings that we've been unable to rule out that have all been near the canalLast edited: 2017-07-29 20:32:10

Message on FB from owner.

To the person that is looking after our Sham, I hope she brings you as much comfort as she has brought us, I wanted to let you know a few things about our baby girl. Sham has been part of my life for more than 14 years, and has grown up with my elder children who are now 12 and 14, they have never known a life without her. Losing her was always going to be hard but to not know where she is is heartbreaking.

I fell in love with her the second she came to live with us and be part of our growing family. A tiny little cutie who wouldn't leave you alone for a second. She's the most loving and loyal dog anyine could wish for.

She loves the skin off apples, when I was pregnant, we would sit on the chair and we'd eat Apples together, she'd eat the skin bit I peeled for her (I'm not keen on the skin) and I'd eat the rest.

She likes to sit with you, preferably on you or at least as close as she can possibly get, ideally so there's no air between you. She doesn't like to lie on the floor (unless there's a spot of sunshine to sunbathe in).

She's really good at playing keep it up with a balloon, if they did medals for this she would definitely win gold, and bubbles, she likes bubbles and splashes of water she could play with them trying to catch them for hours, she would love to watch the kids in the bath and they would between them almost flood the bathroom playing together. Many times the kitchen floor has been a pool but her and the kids have had so much fun you can't say no and stop them.

Jacobs first laugh was for her, Sham and Jacob loved to play, he would laugh while playing with her more than anything else, she adored him, she would watch over him while he slept and even though he's older now, she still prefers to sit with him than anybody else. They've grown up together and Sham would protect Jacob and Abby to the end.

She doesn't dislike other dogs but she can sometimes be scared of them and although she hasn't got an aggressive bone in her body she can be reactive because she's scared of them if they don't leave her alone after a few minutes or if they come running over to her excited. She's always been a nervous dog but a little reassurance is all she needs.

She can think she's the boss and sometimes you have to tell her twice before she'll sit etc. that said, as her hearing has gone now, she only knows a couple of hand commands. For sit put your fingers together, like your pinching something and hold it above her head, when she's running around like a loon and she's skidding all over the kitchen floor hold your hand up in a stop style and she'll stop, it helps when you think she'll hurt herself running into the washing machine because she can't stop herself on the floor, she also knows to move if you point, like off the couch or into the kitchen. Tap your chest if you want her to come to you.

Please be gentle with her and kind and patient she deserves a good and loving life, she has given this to me all her life and deserves the same in return.

Sham has always been there when I've needed her, as a single parent, for 9 of our years together, she's made the house less empty when the kids were at their dad's, kept me company, cheered me up when I've been down, kept me warm when it's been cold. Many a time we've sat curled up on the couch watching trash tv just me, her, the duvet and netflix all day.

She used to love playing football and

says sham is microchipped so dog warden/rescues/vets would have notified owner straight away BUT manchester dogs home had a terrified thus aggressive dog for 11 days before scanning her............... so its better to ring every couple of days the big kennels/rescue organisations. there are so many many found dogs. good luck

Please help Caroline distribute Sham's poster if you can make it.5000 leaflets ready go <3 xxx
CarolineS
Organised leaflet drop arranged for Sunday 23rd July, meeting goes at main rochdale tesco on silk Street at 11.30.
Any help any one may be able to offer would be really appreciated. Hopefully it won't be raining x
Pat
One posted on Animal Wardens as having been found in Rochdale on July 11th, white with brown markings. Could this be Sham, here's hoping. I would regularly check Manchester Dogs Home and I take it you have checked with Bleakholt. A poster at the gates of Tandle Hill Park in Royton might help as many Rochdale pet owners take their dogs in there.
I do so hope she is soon found.Last edited: 2017-07-13 12:25:36 by Pat

Poor old girl missing 7 days she must be terrified I hope somehow she managed to get out of the river .
DogLostJan -North West and Police Liaison Coordinator
Comment fro Sham's owner......Well Sham has been sighted near Asda in Rochdale some people tried to catch her and she ended up jumping in the river roach, she is likely to have found her way out by now and despite 4 and a half hours searching she hasn't been seen since, unfortunately we can't get to the river to search and the rspca, fire and rescue etc. won't assist so she remains missing, please keep your eyes open and I recommend that if sighted please don't try to catch her, report any sighting if possible and your time allows follow her until we can get to you. Thanks all that have shared, please continue to do so Xx Praying Sham has managed to get out xx

Sorry to see that SHAM MISSING THREE YEARS is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
