Hi, the similar dog I saw wasvon the facebook page of Castlefield Dog Rescue (which is in Ilkeston, Derbyshire). Although I don't have facebook myself, I was able to openly see this account. The dog was a stray picked up re-named Bambi. (Castlefield also do dog boarding but it's the rescue bit that takes in strays via dog warden).

@doglost - would you be able to send notifications to wider area please? Prior to living in Daventry Rei lived in Hollywood B47 so might somehow have been heading that way, and she could cover quite a distance in the 90+ hours since she was last seen. Thank you

As I've been sharing this link quite widely I wanted to include a bit more background here so it's all in one place.

Rei is a Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle cross that my partner Lindsey hand raised from the moment she was born. She has followed Lindsey everywhere, including going to lectures with her at university.

We recently moved from Daventry to Kenilworth and so the area is unfamiliar to Rei. She escaped from the house at lunchtime on Thursday, as she is a very adventurous and gregarious dog who acts much younger than her 12 years. My brother and his wife attempted to rescue Rei but something must have upset her and she bolted across the fields towards the neighbouring golf course, The Warwickshire in Leek Wootton. We later had confirmation that she was seen shortly afterwards running across the golf course.

Lindsey has been diagnosed with anxiety and depression, and Rei is one of the few things in life that has been a constant for her. To have lost Rei like this is very distressing for her and she is inconsolable right now.

I hope that anybody reading this who lives in the area will keep their eyes open in case they catch a sighting of Rei and get in touch as soon as possible so that we have the best possible chance of reuniting these two constant companions as quickly as possible.

If you prefer not to call or text, then you can comment on one of these Facebook posts and we will be notified:

Her favourite treats are Tesco beef & game sausages. If she had any teeth left she'd take your hand off for one of those. Last edited: 2017-06-23 19:26:47 by beardypete

Sorry to see that REI is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (116613)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
