Take into account he would be 7 years older and the found dog has grey around the muzzle so is an older dog!!

This is a long shot, but in December possibly 2007 I found a huge long haired Gs. It came into my late father in laws garden just off Staincross common. I can't remember if it was Christmas day or a Sunday in December. I called Barnsley police station and put it in my car , when i got to the station they had to come out and get it from my car. It was a gentle giant. I enquired after they said it had escaped from a farm at Royston. We were building a house at the time and lived in a caravan and remember the day.
I am following Andel dog lost whilst we are currently on holiday in France.
I can go through my phone bills when we return to the UK, if that would help. At the time I believed this dog went up to Cliffe kennels, but was claimed by the owner from Royston, they said it had escaped after high winds on the Saturday night.

This was on a forum I am a member of ... I have asked for more details .. might be worth calling?????? ::: ... I rescued a GSD yesterday from one of the industrial estates in Thetford, Norfolk. It had been living rough for at least a week and had been fed anything & everything by the people who worked there so is thin but still in a reasonable condition. The local Dog Warden, Police, RSPCA & the Dogs Trust are aware but have had no enqiries. As per normal the Dog Warden was useless and hadn't been able to catch it although I'm not sure he tried very hard! I will be ringing him tomorrow to let him know where it is however I'm fostering it at the moment. I will cross-post on Dogs Lost as well. If anyone hears of someone who lost this dog please ring 01953 717897Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

have spoken to Toby's owners and he has never strayed before. They have quite a large area of land and he could have easily wandered into Cawthorne from there so its well worth any helpers looking out for him and postering in that area. He has only lived here for abiut 3 months and previously lived at Brierley which is a fair distance away across Barnsley. Its not thought he would have tried to make his way back to his old home but its always a possibility. Come home soon Toby xxx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
