Marvel could easily be mistaken for a brown Weimaraner & Jake for a flattie - would also have been difficult to distinguish between a bitch & neutered dog at a distance. - 2017-07-28 16:57 ClaireC
- My vet lives in Haddenham and will obviously be keeping an eye out as well. As stated before, there is a largish traveller's site not many miles away and this sighted one could have gone walkabouts!

- Tiggywinkles ( 01844 292292 ) is nearby, perhaps they might have seen Marvel, there are also railway lines close by. Sorry but just at this moment can`t do any more than post suggestions, I am away this weekend.

- As a result of somebody asking on fb which direction the dogs were running in I have foned Acorn Tyres. This was info that they had heard as opposed to seeing the dogs. It was said that the dogs were seen near to Stoke Mandeville sports stadium which I think is in a road called Harvey road. There are lots of houses down there, as well as food outlets and other shops. Again this is pretty near to rail tracks! There is a small wooded area there in addition. It might be wise that as this is a fairly built up well populated area, that the Highways Agency, through AVDC are advised but also a lot more posters are put up. My concern is that the more publicity that is given, the more people will go out, inc kids who will then chase and become more frightened as they will be now at this stage! Acorn Tyres have also added my mob no to the poster they have displayed just in case they hear/see anything. Last edited: 2017-07-26 08:32:20 by ClaireC

- A few people have been out walking their dogs tonight across fields in the area seen in. I have asked if people can keep an eye on fields with water in. I have also asked if anybody could take in a couple of posters to the Sorting Office at Business Triangle Park so that posties can keep a lookout for them early morning. Have alerted a few more friends who live in the area and one in particular who runs her own mobile dog wash to bear them in mind when out and about. I have asked if anybody knows who the local farmer is of the field where there is sheep in to advise that these two are lost in the area. They are also in an area where there is open railway track as traffic has to cross the track as well.

- after speaking with Thames Valley police i can say that a sighting of both a Vizsla and black labrador were spotted yesterday being walked just outside near to stoke madeville hospital by a farm wroker who has dealings with dogs though shoots and knows his breeds. He spoke to a person saying that he felt these were the 2 missing dogs from this area. They said had found these dogs and were putting up posters.no posters seen. he gave them a contact number and withing 10 minutes phoned him back to say looked at poster and its not the same dogs. We need this person to make contact and advise where the 2 dogs they were walking are and if have been reported as found dogs which is required by law. That way they and dogs can be eliminated from police enquiry.
Sightings in HP21 ONLY
if recognise this person please phone 101 TVP.
Description of woman seen with BOTH dogs yesterday afternoon
5" 8 medium build.
Shoulder length mousy brown hair.
3/4 length blue jeans
White trainers
Pink trainer socks
White t-shirt pink logo front and back.
Age 28-32
Another possible sighting around Mandeville road/ Bateman Drive HP21 which is close to where seen walking dogs over by hospital grounds ( less than 5 mins by car or @20 mins walking)
maybe they live in this area? - 2017-07-21 20:48 Jane

- In view of extreme temps again today, I had another drive around the Finmere Quarry on my way home this afternoon, but still nothing! I do think that the Quarry should be looked at fairly regularly just in case either of them have fallen in! They have to be near water somewhere in this weather I would have thought!Last edited: 2017-07-18 21:45:29 by ClaireC

- CJ I'm 99% certain from reading the posts that Dusty (other Vizsla) was lost & reunited all in one day - the 15th so can't have been dog seen 14th at 8.40

- Is it possible to confirm if it was this Vizsla ( now reunited) was also the one spotted at 8.40 on 14th as per posted by Clare??

- Possible Hungarian Visla sighting today 15/7/17 at 1.30pm on footpath parallel to woods off Cockgrove (off Shootersway near HP4 3TU). Couldn't see sex nor collar. Dog ran off on sight. Left food & water. Have spoken to Jake's owner today - location doesn't sound likely.

- Has anyone lost a large tanned dog I saw one running in Waddesdon manor grounds about 8.40. Someone called Rick Foster posted this on Waddesdon Mums and Dads Facebook Group this morning. I've posted the dog lost link on there.

- yes lost on a walk - well he run off with another dog. but no sighting no reports to dog wardens or any one. It is thought picked up and kept hence theft buy finding so TVP have taken as theft and issued a CRN.

- I'm a bit confused by this post so hoping someone will clarify. The details below say he was lost on a walk when the owner fell but he's been listed in the Stolen section. Thanks.

- Copying update from Jake's page with summary of situation x "Jake is missing with another dog Marvel who was staying, Marvel was wearing a lead but Jake wasnt, both dogs are very close. The dogs were being walked between fields & they managed to trip up Jake's owner who fell badly. She could see a deer which Jake, Marvel & the other dog with them chased after. The other dog later returned of his own accord, although it was clear he had run some distance. Jake & Marvel didnt return & despite much searching have not yet been found. Jake's owner has also been scenting in the area the dogs were last seen. Both dogs are wearing ID tags with Jake's owners details"

Kellyc - thank you so much. The information as to where he went missing from is what we need to know too. We desperately need to speak to the lady who's care he was in. We will advise as soon as someone has been able to contact.
If anyone has anything that they want to advise owner in confidence at all - please feel free to speak directly with me 07774 724 797 or use DogLost number above.
I know owners are so very appreciative of everyone's help so far - 2017-07-04 18:13 Kellyc
- I walked the railway line from the landfill to incinerator. The office does have a poster. This place is extremely busy with lorries coming and going every couple of minutes from A41. These drivers will not be aware of Marvel's missing poster and would be a good idea to contact the contractors that own the lorries to keep their eyes peeled. Desperately need posters all around here. Will look again very early tomorrow morning when it is quiet and will also cover Dunsty Farm down to Edgcott.

- Thank you Tavasz for your helpful comments and information. I have asked owner to keep checking here for information and follow up.
Owner lives about an hour away as dog was with a Trainer when he went missing - Dogseekers Rescue no longer exists.
I am not local to the area either - are there any DogLost Volunteers that could help and work with Daljit (owner) to arrange a search and help postering please?
Owner will be in location this evening to Poster and as he doesn't know the area could probably do with any advice on where the best locations nearby would be to put them up - good Dog Walking paths / fields to attract most attention.
Thank you - 2017-07-04 11:53 tavasz

- Hi there I live at Calvert Green, currently in Germany. I have helped in the past look for a dog lost in the area. I would suggest contacting claydon estates gamekeeper as they may make it into the woods at Botolph Claydon. Also inform auctioneers nr Botolph and lots of posters up by car park to woods. Also inform Rosehill kennels in Steeple Claydon as they may hear dogs barking and head there. Claydon House house would also be good to inform. It has been posted on the Calvert Green residents fb page, but would also suggest putting on Grendon, Edgcott, Twyford and Steeple Claydon fb pages if they have them. Just get word round to all shop keepers in the area. Good luck and hope they are found soon xxLast edited: 2017-07-04 08:04:24 by Observant Citizen
