Brilliant news :)

Woo hoo! So glad he's safely home. With no sightings I was beginning to worry that he may have been hidden away injured or worse.
Stay close and safe now Hugo.

Thank you Labrador Lover for all your time and effort looking for Hugo. A neighbour a few fields away found him at 4pm today and he is fine, not a mark on him, bit thirsty not overly hungry and now fast asleep. Many thanks again for your kindness

K9search dogs need a sighting within about 10 hours or they won't come out. Have owners left something with a familiar scent near where last seen?
Labrador lover
We walked around the fields & lanes on the Sheepwash & Upcott side today but no sign. Which direction did Hugo run in?
Have you got an item with just Hugo's scent on? If so K9 Search Dogs are fairly local & may be able to help.

Hopefully spreading the word at the Summer Fete today will bring some good news.

Photo taken from Hugo's Doglost Devon post, hope to see him reunited soon.

It's no problem, I just wish we could at least get a sighting of him. As you said, it's hard to know where to look as there are so many lanes, fields & outbuildings to check and he could have covered miles especially if he chased after a rabbit/pheasant or picked up a scent. I'm guessing he'd know his way home. Was he wearing a collar? If so, it's possible that he may be caught up somewhere nearby. Local vets, rescues etc should scan for his microchip but it may be worth phoning them too or sharing his details on their Facebook pages.
If he's not back by the morning I'll pop over again & search a different area.
Fingers crossed!

Thank you so much for all your trouble - I live near Long Cross - i am involved with the village fete so will get some announcements put out on the tannoy! I have many rescue dogs here and Hugo has never done this before. Bit worried that there have been no sightings so far. Many thanks again Labrador Lover for your help

You could try a smelly barbecue or cooking bacon, sausages or sardines outside this evening to entice him home. If he's not home by bedtime try leaving his bed/blanket outside & if at all possible an open door so he can get in if he does come home tonight.

I parked by the pub and walked down past the surgery & church, turned left opposite Long Cross and walked around the lanes & fields indicated by the postcode for a couple of hours, calling & whistling - checked hedgerows & ditches in case he's got tangled anywhere but no signs. I didn't go into either of the 2 fields I came across that had cows in. I also drove around the local lanes & roads but no luck. I see it's the village summer fete & dog show tomorrow - if he's not back by tonight it would be worth printing off some posters/flyers to distribute there but hopefully he'll find his way home for his dinner when he gets hungry.

I can head over to help look in about an hour - is there anywhere in particular that needs searching? Where was Hugo last seen?
