- Wooooo hooooo!!! This is just such fab news, and having just had a highly emotional Jia on the phone I know she thinks so too!!! Yesterday Jia and her family printed tons of flyers from the Info Centre (on the front page of DL found just above the Dollys Directive button) and went out in Salisbury and postered EVERYWHERE. Their hard work paid off as 3 hrs later they had the phone call they were waiting for. It seems Jasmine had changed hands in a local pub (sound familiar??) and sold on to a local person, who made the call to Jasmines family. Jasmine is now safely back at home, thankfully. This just goes to show that HARD WORK and POSTERING is THE way to get the word out in the "right" circles and to get dogs back. Well done to Jia and her family for sticking with it. Jia said on the phone "its all thanks to DL that I have got her back it wouldn't have happened without you". Well that's good to know. Jia has also been very busy postering flyers of Pepper, rottie missing from Bath, at the same time as putting up posters for Jasmine, so fingers crossed the result might be the same. Well done for all your hard work Jia, and welcome home Jasmine. This must give hope to everyone else out there still searching xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- jia, I have just spoken to Majorjet re the mini-flyers. Could you request them from admin@doglost.co.uk & then Majorjet will be able to produce them and either send them to the Info Centre (on the DL site) or direct to your email address. By the way, did you speak to the person whose name I had suggested at Rottie Welfare? And, were they able to offer you any further advice? Did they say that they would make a note of her/your details and keep an eye out for her? Did you look at Bumble's page and are you continuing with the posters? Also, most importantly, have you informed the microchip people (possibly Petlog) that she is missing?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Jia, Dont loose hope. Be realistic, but dont give up on her. Try and get some publicity on the back of Peppers, surely they (the press) would be keen to know that 2 have gone missing fairly close together. - jia please, PLEASE do not loose hope. It really is still early days, although it might not seem like it. The fact that Jasmine is chipped is great news & I'm sure it won't be long until she's back home but do not give up on your girl - she would be very cross with you! Sorry to nag, but have you visited as many pubs as possible, especially those further afield? I helped from afar when Bumble, the female Rottie (missing from Gnosall, Staffordshire in March 07 & reunited in April 07) disappeared without trace. It turned out that she was picked up by a man, who was driving through their village soon after she went missing. He took a shine to her (she had escaped from her home with a Labrador) and decided to take her home. As a result of her photo and story being covered by a local newspaper, it was read by a woman who had a friend whose neighbour had recently acquired a female Rottie... as a result, she was reunited with her family. Please read her story (some of the thread is missing due to 'technical problems') but just keep up the postering. As I said earlier, you really cannot put up too many posters. Did you contact Rottweiler Welfare? I presume your schools will be back soon and so make sure all the kids know (of course emphasising that Jasmine is a child-friendly dog as this is very important at the moment, if you know what I mean!). If colour posters work out too expensive, use BRIGHT ORANGE paper and just print in black & white. Have you asked DogLost to produce some mini-flyers for you (around 4 to a page, I think)? Once again, just print these in black & white onto VERY brightly coloured paper and hand these out to everyone you come across. That way, when someone spots your lovely Jasmine (AND THEY WILL!) they will have your contact numbers to hand, rather than having to return to a poster. Keeping everything crossed 'this end' that Jasmine will be back home with you very soon. Come on girlie, show your pretty face!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Some BRILLIANT advice there Milly's mum!! Thank you very much for being so helpful and supportive. Jia let me know how you get on with the Salisbury Journal, as I have a contact there who may be able to pull a few strings if you are having difficulties. The papers love (for want of a better word) for "sad" stories, so I am sure they will be keen to run a story about Jasmin being a much loved family pet and being missed by the whole family. Great news that you and Peppers mum are in touch, are you able to assist her with logging on to DL to update us?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- jia, I've just sent you a PM with the Wiltshire's Rottie Rep's contact details. Has Jasmin gone on walkabouts before? Do you think she was taken or was the back gate left open? Have you informed microchip 'people' that Jasmine is missing? Also is Jasmine insured? If so most policies cover the cost of missing posters, will cover the cost of a Missing Ad placed with your local paper and a reward. Sorry to bombard you with so many questions but, like the other DL Helpers, I'm just very keen to get this gorgeous girlie home! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- jia, yes I do think it would be a good idea to contact Pepper's owners as they are probably feeling much the same as you. As a 'fellow' Rottie owner of 24 years, I would dearly love to see both Jasmine and Pepper back home. First of all, how many posters have you put up as this is paramount in getting our lost dogs back? Believe me, you really cannot have too many posters. Put the posters in those clear punched pockets (I bought some very cheap ones in Sainsburys) but use then with the opening at the bottom to protect the poster from the damp weather and rain. You can also use clear waterproof sellotape along the bottom opening. If you can manage it, you need to put up at least 100 or more. Make sure you accept ALL offers to help from the other DogLost Helpers in your area. Have you visited ALL local pubs as (sadly) many of our lost dogs are traded on this way. Visit the pubs at lunchtime or early evening when they tend to be quieter and ask the Manager to display a poster of Jasmin. Also speak to as many of the customers/regulars as possible, telling them how desperate you are to get Jasmine back home. Hand out 'mini-flyers' (available from the DogLost site) and make sure at least 2 telephone contact numbers are shown. The pub customers will have lots of good local contacts and will be a mine of information. Make sure you visit your local sorting office and ask them to display some posters. Also, ask them to give each and every Postie a mini-flyer to carry with them. Do the same with your local milkmen as they are the ones who are out and about early when lost dogs tend to break cover. Make sure you display posters of Jasmine in your car windows and ask ALL family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues to do the same. Have you been in contact with your local Rottweiler Welfare Rep? If, not I can let you have the nearest Rep to you, as they are often contacted when strays have been found. I will send you my home telephone number via a PM (private message). To access this facility you need to log in with your email address and password and then click on the private messages option at the top of Jasmine's page (or any other page, come to that). The good news is that Jasmine is chipped but please call me if you need further advice or support. I'm too far away to help 'on the ground' but am happy to provide any help I can. Finally, Good Luck!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jia, can you just post on here to let us know which agencies you have contacted about Jasmine? It would be helpful to know which rescues/vets/DW's etc you have notified about Jasmine. This is a similar set of circs to the rotty stolen from a garden in Bath, not a million miles away so link in with them to see if there are any similarities. Did your neighbours see any unusual vehicles around? Have you been in touch with the local paper?? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
