How very sad. Thoughts are with family members who are caring for the mum xx
Georgy Porgy
It's such a sad situation, reliving these situations over & over! My mum has dementia so know how it is. Hope the family can provide the consolation she needs X

Yes it is awful situation. People with this condition get very confused, but sometime they can become quite lucid. My late mother suffered from it Night, night Kim. Hope you are having fun at the bridge RIP+ God Blessx A~~~Candle~~burns for you Kim, and your owner. Last edited: 2017-08-31 19:38:46
LH
Such a sad situation.

Thank you Alison for all your sensitive work with Kim's owner, This condition causes such distress to the sufferer, she obviously knew all about DogLost and had remembered that. So many shares and such a lot of support. Run free Kim.

How very sad, thanks for the update Jayne.

Sadly owner suffers from dementia and had forgotten her dog had been put to sleep last year...this has been confirmed with the owners daughter.
Misha
If there is a case of dementia is this dog possibly connected to this found post? There has been no update on this found dog but same area. x

No reply from the daughter yet but she could be on holiday. Still no photo of the actual dog.
Misha
This is so sad and hope someone knows something and can help reunite Kim. Are there any photos of the actual dog yet?
AlisonH
I have now managed to get the contact number of the owners daughter and have sent her a message. Am awaiting a reply.
Holly
Any update on this one?
sheltielover
Kim has been shared to all Facebook Rough Collie sites by a Facebook friend - nothing has turned up on them.
sheltielover
Can anyone share this to the Rough Collie groups, I have requested to join but not yet successful please.
AlisonH
Jenkins I have already put the details on Doglost Lincs Facebook page.
AlisonH
I am in touch with her every other day. She so far has not been able to give me any other information even though I have asked several times. I asked her to go speak to her neighbours but she said they keep themselves to themselves. I will call again now and try to get some info.
Skywalker99
Can't believe this owner does not have carers going in if her memory is that bad...
DogLostSandra Watt
Daisy Orchard (facebook) who helps to try and reunite dogs has tried to contact owner by phone with no success - Alison - can you help please. She would like to set up a facebook page to increase publicity and help this poor woman.
DogLostSandra Watt
Karen - that is a fair point - Alison as you have already spoken to the lady, are you able to follow this up?
karen
I honestly don't want to be rude about this but has anyone spoken to someone other than this lady about the dog who knows it ? Only asking because of how confused she is & how she won't let her children know as a few weeks ago a gentleman was in the same situation over his westie & it turned out that he had dementia & the dog had died the year before ,it could be worth trying to get her vets name & ringing them . x
DogLostSandra Watt
Well done Alison - this is so sad - the poor lady must be in a terrible state. She desperately needs local support.
AlisonH
I have just emailed the Boston Standard and asked them to run a story. The owner DOES NOT want her name or address to be used in any story so I have offered to be the contact.
AlisonH
Sheltielover I have already asked her about the breeder but she can't remember that either. She freely admits she has trouble remembering things but I think part of the problem is lack of sleep and worrying about Kim. I have suggested she calls one of her 3 children to ask for guidance but she insists they live too far away and have busy lives to get on with.

Posters are critical over a wide area. Am pretty sure the local paper would run the story.
DogLostSandra Watt
I have posted to Harveys Army South and Paw Helping Dogs in Need facebook pages to see if we can get any help here.
sheltielover
Just a thought, if you speak to her again can you ask her where she had Kim from, maybe breeder can help.
sheltielover
Desperately need someone to put posters up - still missing and no sightings, he may have been picked up by someone who does not know what to do - very few posters have been put out according to someone who passed through the area yesterday..
AlisonH
The owner has just called me to ask if we have found him yet. There were 2 workmen in her house the day Kim went missing but she can't remember who they were or what company they came from. She can't even remember what job they were doing or I would have been able to ring round and ask if they saw him wander off.
AlisonH
I tend to agree with you sheltie as I'm sure there would have been a sighting by now. I keep checking on Preloved and Gumtree in case someone is trying to sell him on. The good thing is if someone does intend to keep him he will be very noticeable as blue merle rough collies are not that common.
Misha
Wish I lived nearer to help but will share again. Definitely try local radio stations as a supermarket delivery driver helped us narrow down a search for one of our rough collies. Feel so sad for the owner and how she must be missing her companion. Best of luck xxx❤
sheltie
I am beginning to think Kim has been picked up by someone as these dogs are so distinctive, it's hard to think there has been no sighting. Is there any way of getting local media involved?
AlisonH
Poster emailed to the local golf club.
AlisonH
I have just called Pilgrim, Marshland, Elwood and Sutterton vets in Boston and left Kim's details with them.Last edited: 2017-08-11 09:41:33 by AlisonH

sheltielover Kim is male and he went missing from home in Pilleys Lane. I have just spoken to the owner again this morning and she said he is a very gentle, kind dog that has never strayed before. He could easily have been picked up by someone.

The owner has just returned my call. Bless her she is very worried about Kim. He disappeared from home after a workman left a gate opened. There have been no sightings of him at all. Any local help would be greatly appreciated.
