I am Mollie's mum's dog trainer and Mollie came back to dog school last night and emotions were running high! She looks great albeit much thinner and settled in really well, even managing tail wags and kisses. Well done to Mollie's mum for keeping her head when following up the last sighting and thank you thank you to everyone, the support from this site is phenomenal. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Molly has eaten 2 meals and had the cat food! everyone pleased to see her home except for the cat. Off to get her checked over tomorrow. Does have a skin complaint. But at least she is keeping the food down. Don't worry we will get a tag and mark her collar. A big thanks to every one including doglost. Have recommended web site when I have contacted people to let them know that Molly is back. My gigantic big thanks go to Alice and Martyn whose energy, advice, support and practical help probably gave me the energy to continue to be pro active in finding Molly and made sure I responded to the call I received today. I am indebted to you both. Molly's mumLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great News. Molly is home. We received a telephone after lunch from someone who spotted a very grubby dog in the fields around Crawshawbooth. He kindly showed me where it was. Someone we met said that he had seen a similar dog 2 days ago. I decided to have a wander and came across the dog. Initially no idea if it was Molly as she was so grubby. When she spotted me I walked away calling her, initially she came and then ran away into some bushes. I followed for a couple of minutes, lost sight and decided to back off in case I scared her off. Then I spotted her again, This time she was following my trail, obviously picking up my scent, when she noticed me I crouched down threw a biscuit and she trotted over. Very pleased to have her home. Very dirty, lost some hair and extremely skinny. Plan to feed her up and join the Bearded collie club. Thanks for all your support and help. From one very happy Molly?s mum. We have another possible sighting. Wed around 12 noon in Haslingden, walking down Devon creascent onto Chester creascent. Observed to be walking in and out of drive ways. Initially would not let persdon approach her but in time came up for a stroke. However when person tried to entice her into her drive way dog ran off. Certainly a bearded collies, medium lengh coat, under carriage very muddy. However spotter did not thing the dog looked or felt particularly under weight. Hard to say if this was Molly. If it is then may be the dog seen at Ramsbottom last Saturaday was Molly. Was meant to pick up Dog trap from Preston today but delayed this as I wanted to search local area. I'll keep you posted.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just to let you know what I have done so far to save duplication. Dog warden, country rangers, fishery bailiff, utility country rangers and farmers in the Rivington area aware and up to date with situation. Tea rooms have posters. One kind woman who works there is making the visitors aware of the poster. Schools have posters. Delivered posters to houses in the area. Also a number of walkers I have met in the last 3 days have posters. I believe info has gone on cyclist website. I have received same advice from dog warden and Martin Soar, we need more sightings. It is obvious she is not going to be easy to catch. The main thing is not to deter her from this area as it is a good area to be spotted. So I have asked people not to approach her but just observe where she goes. If visiting the area please do keep an eye pout for her but please do not call for her, she may feel pursued and leave the area for good. I think all that can be done has been done and now it is a waiting game. Will keep you informed. Molly?s mum Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

going to the grammer school and Primary tommorow armed with posters. E-Mailed chorley dog warden with poster. Plan to speak to her tommorow to see what we can do. Do not want to put food out or encourage other to at this time. There are a lot of farmers, fishery, wild life supporters in the area. They have all been very supportive and I do not want to do any thing that could jeopardise this. However will see what the dog warden suggeste. received info on scenting, very interesting, Spoke to Martin Soar for those who know him/of him. Nice man, gave sound advice, suggests that we need at least one more sighting so fingers crossed. Will keep everyone up to date.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi. we have handed out leaflets on our beardie walk at delamere forest today. it is fantastic news that molly is sticking around and seeming to be looking after herself. would it be worth contacting the school she has been seen around as they will probably be starting after xmas hols tomorrow. could the pupils be informed? maybe the caretaker could be enlisted with leaving out food etc to try encouraging her in??? could be a useful place to use a trap if she is too nervous to catch?? a member is going over tomorrow with her beardies to have a look around. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

just let you know I have been told of 2 further possible sightings of Molly. The firat one is unlkiely to be her. A sdog was seen near Holcomge, towards green mount on Saturaday. However spooter said its coat has been recently clipped where as Molly has npt been done for at least 4 months, also was seen walking in and out of drive ways which is not her nature. Also we have spotted a similardog in this area doing the same thing and soon found owner. Second sighting sounds more hopeful. Bearded Collie fitting Molly's discription and behaviour was seen Road out of Rivington towards Howich, on playing field opposite Rivington Grammer school. This was Sunday 6th at around 9.15am. Did visit the area but no sight, dog walkers and country rangers have also looked. Local farmers are aware of the situation. I will keep you informed of any further sightings. Hello Jayne Thanks for all your help. As I have already stated Molly was spotted on the 24th Dec. Looking at the map she seems to have gone near enough straight North. Although spotted near the by pass, I suspect she is staying to rural routes and more likely to be found off the beaten tracks then built up areas. I am trying to target walkers and ramblers. If any of your helpers should know of walkers using tracks around the Rosendale/blackburn area, I would be grateful if they could spread the word. Thanks again for your help......... e mail from owner. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
