- I know that this is a long shot, but this beauty has just been found on a train in Hammersmith, West London. Can't see if boy or girl, but similar markings - if you aren't on Facebook, I have photo, just trying to locate dog now (possibly with Dog Warden)

- unfortunately we do not have the microchip and petlog would not mark as lost or stolen as I was not the registered keeper.I have sent all the details I have to Sussex police and hope they can get petlog to mark as stolen as the police have seen enough evidence to support this dog belonging to this owner.
I have also made Kent police aware of this dog. - 2017-08-24 19:27 Unknown
- Hope Floyd`s microchip works it`s magic

- Hi Clarkey. Would it be worth sending further alerts to Kent as owner believes Floyd may be taken to Sittingbourne area?

- I've added another photo of Carols that shows more of Floyd's markings and the collar that he was wearing when he disappeared. You may need to refresh/reload the page to see it.

- Thanks Carol. Good to hear posters going up, well done.
I have just emailed you re sending info on CRN to Doglost admin. - 2017-08-21 15:30 Carol
- Hello Clarkey! Yes, he was taken from the garden at around 5.45pm on Saturday.
We believe he may have been taken as we know the previous owner wanted him back.
We are printing the posters now ready to give out and put up.
We were told that the number we were given was a crime number.
Many thanks - 2017-08-21 14:31 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
- Floyd was wearing a different collar from the one in the photo. It was a brown leather one with silver pieces on it.

- So sorry to see Floyd has gone missing. I have sent you are Doglost advice which is obviously for lost dogs as it is possible that he has escaped somehow and not been taken. The vet should have microchip details as Mary says (thanks for your help Mary)
Please would you let us know exactly where from (garden?) and when Floyd went missing and what the circumstances were.
Although you believe that Floyd may have been stolen please do what is suggested in our advice as you need to cover all possibilities.
Posters are extremely important if lost but still very important if Floyd's been stolen as you need to make Floyd TOO HOT TO HANDLE.
Also it's possible that someone may have seen what happened ad will contact you if they see a poster.
Also can you confirm that the number you have given is a CRN and not an incident number please? The Police tend to give incident numbers unless the actual theft is witnessed.
Best of luck. Last edited: 2017-08-21 13:42:42 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2017-08-21 11:43 Sharon - Social Media Volunteer

- Yes. I understand. Please phone DogLost and ask them to get CJ,who liaises with the police, to contact you directly. She will help you if she can. If you have taken Floyd to a vet contact the vet to see if he scanned Floyd and has his Microchip number on his file.

- Hi Mary, yes there is a crime number. I will get onto the posters and will also try the Facebook page. We are in a very difficult situation as this involves a despute between the previous owners.Last edited: 2017-08-21 14:16:08 by Carol

- Hi Linda, Floyd does have a microchip but it is not registered to us yet. We have only had Floyd 4 weeks. It is a long storey but he was being sold by a lady after her partner had left and refused to take Floyd with him. She has got numerous messages from him saying he doesn't want him and to sell him. After we bought Floyd the man refused to give the chip details and the started saying he wants his dog back. The police are investigating the possibility that he has taken Floyd and this man comes from the sittingbourne area. Obviously we have the added problem that if the chip is read Floyd would go straight back to him anyway.

- Hi Carol - Sorry to read Floyd is missing. As he is believed to be stolen please obtain a CRN from the Police so this can be upgraded to stolen. If you have the microchip number please update the details, with the microchip company, as soon as possible and contact the Dog Warden (there are 2 in this area). It might be worth creating a public facebook page for Floyd, but please do keep DogLost updated as not everyone uses facebook. If you have access to a printer print off posters and laminate or put them in plastic sleeves and put them up. Useful to have smaller A5 unlaminated posters to hand out too. Also check selling sites. I do hope Floyd is found soon.

- Shared on Lincolnshire Essex and Trent Boxer Rescue members forum. Does Floyd have no microchip at all or has he been rehomed and simply not re-registered with up-to-date details? I am only asking as he seems well-cared for in the photos and yet microchipping was made a legal requirement some months ago and it puzzles me why he had not been done when the law came into force, if not before. It would help to clarify if there is any chance there is a microchip with the wrong details for Floyd as a previous owner or rehoming centre would be the first point of contact should he be found straying.
