It did make a huge difference having so much help. I've been overwhelmed by the kindness. Pickle is very well. She has slightly sore paws but other than that she seems to have enjoyed her adventure!! The vet has checked her over and she's currently fast asleep in her basket. Again thank you everyone it meant so much to me that you were all out there with me looking for her. I couldn't have done it without you all XxLast edited: 2017-09-01 18:58:12 by Scott

Fantastic news! This little girlie has led Em and everyone else on a real chase so I'm very relieved that she's now home :)
I can't thank all the Eastbourne people who helped with searching, postering and supporting Em whilst Pickle was lost. I'm sure it made a huge difference to her. A great job done by each and every one of you. I'm sure you will all enjoy taking down all the posters now as that's the most enjoyable job!
Em, please let us know if Pickle has any injuries altho she's managing to run very fast if she has. I'm sure you and she will enjoy some well earned sleep now.
I've added that reunited photo on here now (you may have to refresh/reload the page to see it)

Thanks again everyone. Welcome home Pickle :)

Have some great news Pickle has been found. As my previous comment her owner had received messages to say she was in the Wannock Avenue area. Think she must have broken a few speed records. She got to the road and Pickle saw her and she ran into her arms. Pickle has met a lot of the volunteers who have been looking for her. She is well but looks very tired. I asked Pickles owner if she would like me to inform you as she is so excited and at present is overwhelmed by all the support she has received. She would like to thank everyone. I will see if updated pictures will follow

She has her, safe and sound, phew xxx

The owner has received 3 messages that Pickle has been seen in the Wannock Road Broad Road area in last 20 minutes. If anyone is down that way please do not try and catch as she is still very scared as it seems people are trying to catch her. Her owner is on her way there now and we will be going out asap

Been out this morning and covered Pulborough Road and all side roads. Seven Sisters Road down past Oxendean Gardens although it is other side of road from Triangle Willingdon it brings her back to roads that eventually get to Pulborough Road. Back to Polegate Cross Roads and on to Farmlands Way - looked into woods but nothing - gone around all side streets keep covering same ground just in case she suddenly appears again. It might be she has settled down in the heat of the day in someones garden. Have now returned home but will go out again if there are any sightings

Thanks KellsBells. That would be a great help. I'm sure if you text Em so she can let you know where to pick up some posters.
I've just read this on one of Em's posts:
".. there was a new sighting this morning at about 7am. She was trotting down Broad road, turned into farmlands way and then down farmlands close where my brother lives. However I got the call at 7.40 and couldn't find her when I got there"
Looks like Pickle may be trying to make her way back to the house she was lost from or to Em's brothers house so really important to have scent items at both places please and a way for her to get back in. These can be anything that has P's scent on or yours (unwashed socks/tshirts etc work well)
Come on little Pickle, you're not far from safety so just go that little bit further girlie.Last edited: 2017-09-01 11:02:27 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

I don't have the means to print posters myself, but if anyone can I'm more than happy to poster between Willingdon and Pickles home. The older and non-facebookers that I spoke to near Willingdon were aware of the posters. I'll be heading out to search again with treats today anyway. She must be hungry now.

Thanks everyone for helping. Great to see our Eastbourne team are out searching already.
Em: I've sent you our Doglost advice emails which should help you with your search.
Please get as many posters up as possible as they are the very best way of getting new sightings coming in to you.
Although Pickle seems to have been running all over the place she should slow down soon and she may even make her way back home so the advice Mary has given (also in the emails) is really important. Is Coppice Abenue where you and Pickle live?
Please keep us updated on here so we know what's happening as not everyone is on Fbk. Thank you.
Best of luck to you and stay safe please Pickle.
(I've just seen that Pickle lives in Pulborough Avenue so it's quite possible that she may make her way back there as not far from some of the sightings) Last edited: 2017-09-01 02:04:07 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

I've gone down all the side roads and spoken to everyone between Victoria drive and willingdon tree. People seem aware of the posters. My battery is dying so will continue towards Polegate and update when my phones charged.

Eastbourne Herald and Gazette are now showing her poster

Been out looking for a few hours. As Pickle seems to be going back and forth have been covering the areas from Hampden Park to Church Street then to Lower Willingdon to Broad Road, Gorringe Valley Road, Farmlands, Southfields and all turnings off Broad Road. Also been round the Throughbred estate off A27. Also opposite side of A22 into Polegate. So sorry no joy.
egizzy
Just covered Gorringe Valley Road, Wannock Lane spoke to a resident by the Paragon and gave them your number and description of Pickles,(they have a JR and walk the Paragon) Wannock Gardens, Top of Broad Road, Wannock Ave, Coppice Ave and the bottom of Broad Road, Along the main road up to Church Road Willingdon and down into Huggetts Lane, then Brodrick Road. Nothing to be seen but so many gardens to hide in, fingers crossed she is found soon. UPDATE just seen Emily says heading towards Polegate have now shared to Polegate Residents

My partner and I will be heading up there to look at 4pm if anyone would like to join us. There's a lot of undergrowth along the roads where she was last sighted to cover. I don't have the means to print a poster but I'd suggest getting some up around the hospital with so many people coming and going that may spot her.

Em - Did Pickle go missing on a walk or from home? If it was on a walk he may return to where he was lost or where you park your car. If from home make sure he can get back into the garden and leave some bedding there in a sheltered place for him to settle with. You can scent the garden by leaving an unwashed item of your own clothing by the gate. He may also go to other places he is walked regularly. Being such a small dog he will have no problem hiding. I'm not in the area at the moment so can't help search or get posters up. Do check both dog wardens for the area, rescue centres and vets and make sure microchip details are up to date. Please stay safe Pickle until you are found.
