that is why I took her to the police station was to get her done for selling me a stolen dog but they told me it was a civil matter which I thought was funny.the police actually told me it was up to me whether to return it or not and yes I will gladly talk to the police.well after the police saying they would get you to pay the vets bill seems you didn't as my brother got the reminder today but don't worry about it cos hes going to raise the money to pay itLast edited: 2017-10-12 22:39:46 by annec
annec
she was taken to vets in Kirkcudbright and my brother got the bill today which I will bring over to you in the week he was ripped off for the £50 he paid for her hes not going to be ripped off for vets bill as well.the vet told him with that type of dog you cant walk them enough. and yes she was getting good food which I was going to bring over to you but you probably wouldn't want it now.at the vets she has been billed for her booster injection and another 1 also a pill for the fleas
JanetL
Which vets as all the vets in kirkcudbright have no listings of her being in their files at all as i have been calling them to check up to see if she had been registered with them and she wasnt at all i had even checked with the stewartry vets and they told me that they hadn't seen her either so which vets did you take her to then and 6 long walks a day is far to much for a small dog liked her and the food i got her bakers meaty chunks is the best for her and for a the size of bag I get for her is not cheap at nearly £8 a bag and that's the bigest bag they do of that so i am no cheap skate ok Last edited: 2017-09-10 18:08:21 by JanetL

Thats why she was booked into the stewartry vets for the Friday to get that all sorted out annec she was booked in for 3.oopm that Friday which that woman was asked her to take her to but never did because she had already sold her to you I went to her house on Thursday morning to get heras i wanted to bring her home and there was no sign if her i have been worrying myself sick over her for over 2 weeks breaking my heart my animals are taken straight to the vets no matter what and i dont care how much it costs me to get them put right and midget i booked into see my vet in monday and she will never be let out of my sight again nore will i be asking anyone to take care if her again as i dont trust anyone any more to do so i love and care for all of my pets i am now worried about my other dog as since all this stress he's not himself either so he will be going to the vets as well with midget so dint you go trying to make me our to be a bad owner as i am not ok oh and dumfries POLICE wants to have words with you about that verity humfryes and my midget as they phoned me this morning and want me to charge her with the theft of my dog which i am doing and the office that phoned said it should never have been recorded as a civil matter and that it is dog theft so she that verity has stolen your money to for selling you a dog that was never for sale in the first place Last edited: 2017-09-10 17:46:58 by JanetL

The buyer of Midget gets my respect she bought the dog innocently & took her to the vets to get her checked out .Always two sides to every story pity Midget cannot give her version on what she would prefer .
DogLostSandra Watt
annec - thanks for giving your side of the story and thanks for taking good care of Midget and returning her to Janet. I hope you can find another dog that needs a good home such as yours.
annec
when we bought midget we were told she had been ill treated and old scabs on her head proved it.we didn't know the person who sold it didn't have the right.she was well looked after and fed the best of food had plenty of water and groome regulary.no she hadn't lost weight she was going for long walks about 5 or 6 times a day.she was taken to the vets and given a clean bill of health and she didn't have a skin complaint it was the infestation of fleas that was causing her hair to fall out

Fantastic news ! Well done that buyer for reporting and shame on the vet for not scanning. I have a really helpful guide from the RCVS for vets like this. I also hope police will take future dog theft more seriously....it is prevelant and we must protect victims of crime by prosecuting and supporting speedy justice X

Midget was sold on locally in Dalbeattie and word of mouth led a friend to find her. The woman who bought her had taken her to vets for a booster injection. No scanning was done by vets or Midget would have been flagged up as stolen. The woman who bought Midget is going to police station today to report the woman who she bought Midget from. Thanks to the buyer for giving Midget back to Janet,

I have sent emails to vets to ask for answers and police asking what action is being taken to find this dog.
JanetL
Midgets microchip has been upgraded to tracker now Jenkins so it will track her whether she is taken to vet dog pound or anywhere i have also been told that the woman that stole my midget has sold her in one of the sites on facebook i think it could be the per trader one in the dumfries and galloway area the woman sold her for £80 the cheaky of her
charlie and sooty
I agree totally Jenkins. Lets get Midget back to her owner.
DogLostSandra Watt
Agreed Charlie and Sooty - hopefully CJ will help with this and owner can make a complaint later - just need to concentrate on getting Midget back home.
charlie and sooty
I think this vet needs to be named and shamed and reported to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.....https://www.rcvs.org.uk/home/
DogLostCJ - Police Liaison & SE Regional Coordinator
I cannot understand vets not giving details. This dog is registered to owner and i have spoken with petlog and is listed as stolen. If these vets checked with petlog they would see that they are dealing with a person who has a stolen dog.

Owner has report this morning that Midget was seen with a very short bad haircut on Monday 4th September. She was with a man outside Primark in English Street, Carlisle. Please can alerts be sent to CA3 postcode area.
Skywalker99
I hope the police can help recover Midget as I guess the vets know where the dog is!
DogLostSandra Watt
Thanks Skywalker99 - Midget status is already Stolen and CJ is aware. I can't believe this has happened with the vet. She has another dog and 2 cats who were also registered there so she has now changed them to an alternative vet but that doesn't help her with trying to get records for Midget as the vet wont help her!
Skywalker99
Owner needs to get the police to update status to stolen, I suggest she also contacts doglost for help with this. how could the vets change the details of the owner without contacting the previous owner?
DogLostSandra Watt
Owner contacted her vet this morning to ask for paperwork relating to Midget's condition only to be told that the owner details had been changed and they could not discuss this with her!!!! Surely this cannot be ethical? Midget is registered with Petlog as stolen. Any advice please.
DogLostSandra Watt
Owner has received another facebook message tonight confirming sighting of dog (possibly Midget) with a big issue seller in Dumfries outside Waterstones Book Shop at the fountain - please can anyone in this area have a look out and phone owner immediately. Really could do with getting posters in this area but don't know anyone.
DogLostSandra Watt
If there is anybody following this, we could do with getting some posters particularly in Dumfries central area where Midget was possibly sighted. Kirkcudbright and Dalbeattie are also others areas. Janet is disabled and has no help and I am too far away. Thanks for anybody who can help.
DogLostSandra Watt
Thanks CJ, really appreciate that, I have sent you an e-mail on owner's behalf.
DogLostCJ - Police Liaison & SE Regional Coordinator
Police have issued an incident number and in order to help owner i have change status to stolen pending a CRN . Especially as local papers are looking at taking up this story to help track down what has happened to Midget.
DogLostCJ - Police Liaison & SE Regional Coordinator

Could Admin Please send further alerts to DG1 and DG2 postcode areas as this may help.
Owner has been advised that a dog very similar to hers was seen with a Big Issue seller in Dumfries and he looked like the boyfriend of the woman who has Midget. The lady who reported seeing the dog said she was drawn to it because it had a baldy patch on its back that needed treatment and this would match with Midget.
DogLostSandra Watt
Geoff - sorry only seen your comment now - I have sent request to join that site. Owner had visit from woman who had her dog night before last and she called the police as she felt threatened. The police have advised that the woman sold the dog to someone in Kirkcudbright and the police are following this up as they were given an address. Owner said her dog was seen with the lady's boyfriend in Dumfries yesterday - all very confusing?
DogLostGeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland
Two comments from my share to Missing, Lost and Found in Dumfries and Galloway:

"We are in Duncow just north of Dumfries. Two women walked past here yesterday with a dog like this and a blue merle collie. May be a totally different dog but I'll keep a look out."

"There was a lady selling a wee dog on a sale site a week ago that looked like her"

Jenkins - as you are supporting owner - could you maybe join the above group and follow up?
