- I was on my way to track another dog when I pulled over to take the call from Lucy who was absolutely over the moon to have Nelson back safely.
Thank you so much to the railway worker who retrieved Nelson from the tracks and got him to a vet to be scanned.
It was always my greatest fear that Nelson would be on the tracks despite it being well fenced - he is one very lucky dog as the trains were passing every few minutes! - 2017-09-08 17:15 Sharon - Social Media Volunteer

- Bearing in mind how far Rhodesian Ridgebacks can travel it might be worth sending out email alerts to a wider area.

- Jenny & Tiga have kindly been out tracking Nelson today. This posted by Jenny to Claygate Dog Owners:
I have just got home after tracking for 9 hours with Tiga and with Zillette in tow! Yes we tracked to Claygate but we carried on round and in the end ended up coming out opposite the main entrance of Sandown Park hoping we would be turning right and back home but no - Tiga went left through the high street turning right and along the back of the race course and coming back across the golf course but I don't believe Tiga was tracking this last bit - he lost it somewhere - there was so much grass that had been cut this week and the scent gone. I think this route was done the Friday night Nelson went missing but where has he gone since.
Tiga was tired and had no luck picking any more scent up local to home but again the grass in that area had been cut on Monday. We did end up at previous possible sightings but from different directions so not entirely sure.
In all a mystery as to how such a big dog can vanish.
If any other RR's can go out and walk the areas that would be a great help.
We need to spread the word over a wider area as we know RR's can travel. - 2017-09-05 14:02 nalamissing

- Some background posted by owner yesterday: He was spotted after being hit by the car running into the forest path that runs parallel to Portsmouth Road - past Old Cranleighians Rugby Club, towards Thames Ditton Junior School etc. He was also spotted on Weston Green road near Corner of Longmead Road. This is an area we walk in a lot. We have already searched around here but are going out on foot again - down forest path past TD junior school, through village towards the river. We will start putting up posters. Apparently the car clipped his back legs - not badly enough to kill him, so fingers crossed 🤞
He was seen also yesterday afternoon near Old Cranleighans Rugby club - 2017-09-03 15:57 Skywalker99

I so hope he is found soon

They are the local dog wardens - 2017-09-02 15:11 Patlucky
- If he was hit by a car he is probably laying in the area very near
If owner has a friend with a dog best to go to the area
Dogs will find what people don't often see or hear
Good luck Fingers crossed - 2017-09-02 14:51 csquaredb

- From East and West Molesey Group, posted last night:
I've just seen a dog run into the road down Hampton court way just before the bridge and it was hit by a car, it ran straight into the road and did run off back to the green but not sure if anyone is looking for a lost dog? My partner has got out to go and look for it but it ran off before he got out the car.
It was a medium sized dog, looked abit like an Alsatian. It did bang into the car quite badly so may be abit concussed but managed to run off so seems ok ish. Hope he/she is ok and manages to find owner?
It was on the green just before the bridge on Hampton court way, just as you drive past the greyhound pub? And it ran back In the direction it came from after it got hit by the car.
Owner is aware. Seems likely that this was Nelson. If anyone is in the area, please keep a look out for him
