There is a tri colour collie bitch they are calling PAIGE that has been at Rochdale Dog Rescue and has now been transferred to a rescue in Bath. Difficult to tell from the picture of FLOSS with regard to body markings but looks similar facially. Age of bitch doesn't match but they're probably only guessing! Here is the link: http://www.rochdale-dog-rescue.com/south-dogs.html Good Luck xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I may be suggesting things you have already done, if so my apolpigises. I have been to Manchester Dog home a few times, the last being on Friday and they do have a 3-4 border collies in there. One I know was male, other was 8-9 yrs, the 3 rd did not have any details. Have you visdsiting Manchetser dog home. The other possible helpful link is to ask the police to look at their system for all stray dogs picked up. The system covers all greater manchester but the information is only as reliable as the people who input it, if they do. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I am a new member who lives in Bury. Just wanted to point out that if she went missing in Walmersley Rd area what about Burrs country park? It's a huge country park that's very very easily accessible from Walmersley rd, it's possible she went there? You could do with putting posters up in that area asap as there are hundred of local dog walkers there each day. I have been there this weekend ( before seeing this ) and didn't see any posters. I really hope she is found soon. If there is anything I can do please let me know , you must be heart broken. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Sarah for updating us, sorry to see Floss has still not been found and you are having problems leaving posts. Keep up with the postering and fingers crossed you get some sightings soon. Sometimes it can take a week or so before someone sees a poster and makes a connection with a dog in their area. With regard to the reported found dog is it possible to find details out it in case we have one on the site fitting its description? Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have you contacted the Bury Dog Wardens, thier number is 0845 094 1209. Also may be worth checking with the police (0161 872 5050) Manchster Dogs Home - best if you can visit in person (0871 918 1212) Destitute Animal Shelter at Bolton (01204 526486) and also try Pets In Need, Reynards Bank, Turton Road, Tottington - who take in 'lost dogs' from the Bury area. Pet Shop in Ramsbottom put up poster for me when Bingo was 'lost' back in October/November. Put as many leaflets through doors and up in shops, post offices, on lamp posts - between where Floss went missing from and her previous home. You need to contact all of the above on a regular basis to keep them updated. My dog Bingo ran off just before bonfire night - he's still petrified of fireworks - we eventually got him back home after he'd been missing for 26 days. May be worth contacting the Bury Times as they ran an article for us bout Bingo being missing (0161 764 9421). Home you get Floss back safe and sound very soon. Could be she has made or is making her way back to her 'previous home' Alison Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is a big rescue centre (dogs and cats etc) near Ramsbottom called Bleakholt. I don't have the number here, but will post it tomorrow if Floss isn't recovered by then.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Photo received by mobile and emailed to admin. The area needs altering BEFORE the posters are emailed out, it should read Walmersley Bury near Ramsbottom. Photo is not very clear but she does not look smooth coated to me. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to owner, Floss has only been in the home for one day and is a working sheepdog, she is smooth coated. Her original home is approx 4 miles away, she was sighted last night but ran away. Owner said they will register a.s.a.p. and leave an update. Photo will be sent shortly by mobile. Good luck and hope to see Floss in the blue soon. Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
