- Still sharing on a regular basis, and added her to a little video I did. Really hope you find her. I would 're list her on gumtree and preloved if you can. Both have lost dog sections where you can list on

- Youre very welcome, Just so sad ☹☹ will share on a regular basis, really do hope you get her back. Is she on gum tree or preloved yet? As both have lost dog sections. Glad she's chipped

- Thank you for continuing to share Lottie's profile. Still had no sightings or news. Her companion has been pining for her - I may have to find him a new chum. If Lottie comes home one day then I will just have to have 3 dogs.

- Still no news or even a sighting. No one seems to have had her scanned, though of course I know sometimes the chip does not work or vets do not scan. Looking on sale sites daily. Dragon Driving seems to have an awful lot of in papered dogs for sale but no bassets. It does seem, having followed various missing dogs, that there is quite an epidemic of dog theft.
- 2017-11-09 17:35 Georgy Porgy
- Chris I'm still following Lottie. So sorry no sightings or news. Keep looking & checking selling sites etc & rehoming centres. Sometimes chip isn't picked up when scanned. Fingers still crossed for you
- 2017-11-08 16:29 Chris
- We still have no news or sightings of Lottie - 4 stones of basset hound does not just disappear into thin air. I would like her back please. £200 reward for safe return.
- 2017-11-06 16:09 Chris
- Thank you and thank you to all who continue to share the links for Lottie. We still have had no sightings or news. We just keep hoping someone kind has her and might eventually take her to a vet who will scan her. Her companion continues to look for her every day in the woods where we always walk and I continue to yell all the names she is called by - which are variations of Lottie.

- Thank you for calling. This one was a boy, the owners will be relieved they have been located and are on way to collect him. I think someone must have Lottie somewhere - but could be anywhere. All sharing of links to find princess Lottie la Basset as she is sometimes known much appreciated. I find myself looking out of train windows and car window but the chances of seeing her are I know a million to 1.

- Thanks Georgy Porgy, I walk the woods everyday with my remaining dog and a friend with 2 collies (who are of course only interested in chasing sticks - even though Lottie was foster auntie to one of them, which was remarkable as she does not like small children or puppies otherwise). I do shout and call, lots of local dogs bark back to me. Lottie will always come to her name if she gets lost - though she knows this land very very well has been exploring with me and on her own for about 5 years. It is private land backing onto private land, so no footpaths. I keep yelling in case she is in a place not too far away and can still hear me - at least she wil know I am still calling her.
- 2017-10-22 23:13 Georgy Porgy
- Sorry there's been no news but don't lose hope. Just in case she hasn't been stolen I would recheck the woods she may have wandered back there from elsewhere. I sincerely hope you get some good news soon
- 2017-10-21 09:53 Chris
- Still no sighting or news from any one anywhere. Have dropped off a few more flyers to houses I missed before in the area surrounding the land Lottie was last in. Lottie's companion is grieving the loss of Lottie - he even gets on my bed. This is fine but he does weight 10 stone.

- Hi Zoe, thank you. If someone is walking a basset on a lead with a collar it is most unlikely to be Lottie, she slips a collar as if it were buttered.

- More flyers out this morning. Have spoken with police who did take details as stolen dog on the basis that she cannot have just vanished, has been gone 3 weeks and searches, Facebook, dog lost etc etc going on. She must be with someone somewhere. Shortly after speaking with police I had a text to say they do not retain details of stolen dogs anymore (theft by finding) and closed the case. We are rather despondent at this. Will have to find further ways to search.
- 2017-10-12 07:28 Chris
- Still no news of Lottie, have been out dropping flyers again n a different part of the lanes. I hope if someone has her that they are kind to her and don't mind that she sometimes howls in best basset fashion. I am checking the basset for sale ads in case someone is trying to sell her. There seem to be several where the apparent owners had no idea what to expect of a basset hound - they are rather different from other dogs. Hard to train, single minded and very hard of listening. Those of us who love them love them for their bassetness, those who are not prepared get a bit of a rude awakening. Is there anyone else out these who is still looking for a lost basset? Have any of those on this site actually been found?
- 2017-10-07 06:49 Chris
- Lottie chases cats, rabbits, squirrels and deer. She doesn't actually catch anything except the odd mixi rabbit. She usually excavates any holes she finds quite spectacularly as she has big feet and long strong hound claws. She isn't in a collar as she was on private ground and she takes them off anyway, neck is much bigger than head.
- 2017-10-06 23:05 Georgy Porgy
- Wondered if she may be stuck in a hole or sett. With little legs might not be able to get out. What does she usually hunt?
- 2017-10-06 13:40 Chris
- Thanks Zoe I think we might need to organise a big search party for the weekend if possible to try to at least rule out Lottie still being in the woods and surrounding fields. Can you help with this please?

- I haven't forgotten you Chris. I'm so sorry there has not been one sighting of your dear Lottie :-( So hard to know what to do without a sighting :-(
- 2017-10-05 12:14 Chris
- Still nothing - nothing at all. It is as of she vanished from the face of the earth. Thank you for linking to basset walk groups, we have walked with the group in the past, Lottie had a wonderful time. We hope the Lottie is safe and warm somewhere and that she comes home soon

- There is a basset hound walking group who often meet at Ashdown Forest - are you aware of them? I have just sent them a link to this page via the contact form on their website but it might be worth trying to get in touch directly yourself as you know the area better: http://www.bassethoundowners.org.uk/index.htm
Have been sharing lots on Twitter. Hope she comes home soon. - 2017-10-02 14:25 Chris
- Still no news and no sightings. Very sad over the weekend. Have dropped more flyers in various lanes and into some of the farms - lots of people still looking out and sharing. Apparently a female pug has just gone missing from Mayfield up the road, though I think that one may not be spayed. If anyone reading this knows who has Lottie or actually has her - please let her come home. She is spayed and so no good for breeding, she is old, and she will probably pee on your door mat in the night as she is getting a bit dotty in her old age. If you do not want to make yourself known you can always drop her through the gate at Almond Wood Bungalow in Five Ashes without being seen. Old and dotty as she may be we are very fond of her - she is not a smart breeding girlie, just a rescue basset and her rescue neutered companion is missing her too.

- Thanks Zoe for the update. Sounds like the owners and helpers are doing everything they can to bring her home. I have informed friends and family in Mayfield who have dogs and are on the lookout whilst out walking and driving. I will keep an eye on this page if any further help is needed. Are they aware at skippers hill school? Parents there could also be on the lookout. I do hope there is good news soon.

- Springermad/Rupert, thank you for your offers of help. I met Christine yesterday as I picked up some posters from her. There has not been one sighting of Lottie in the week she's been missing. Several searches of the area where she originally went missing from have been conducted with no luck. Christine is adamant that if she was in there she would have made it known so it is now thought that she may have been picked up by someone's who hasn't reported finding her . Without a sighting we are at a loss at where to look. Local are now aware, I put a few more posters up yesterday in the local area. So at the moment, no search is planned, but I will definitely keep this page updated. Thank you to everyone that has helped so far.

- Posters in: Culverden Vets Crowborough, Crowborough Pet Shop, Rotherfield Chemist, Sussex Country Garden Centre Mark Cross, entrance to Mayfield Fields from Little Trodgers Lane, and both Millhole and Hornshurst Woods in Rotherfield. Didn’t make it to Wadhurst pet shop as my dog did a runner in our woods.....
- 2017-09-28 14:14 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- Yes Tiga gave it a go yesterday but extensive woodland is Lottie's own back garden and she runs freely but not secure so Lottie could easily have ventured further afield.
Zoe - interesting that someone heard something Sunday night because while we were searching yesterday we could hear what I would have said was a Bassett deep bark - we tried to trace where it was coming from but everything echoed around the woods and it seemed we were going in circles.
I would suggest a huge search of these woods by a number of people together - she certainly is not free running around them. If this is done I would suggest without dogs because there was a lot of old barbed wire fencing lying around and steep slopes down to a gently stream. - Jane, that would be great - thank you:-) Would you mind just posting here when you've done it so we know whats been done. I'm not working tomorrow so am going to try to do a bit of postering then.
- 2017-09-28 07:28 Jane
- Can put posters in Crowborough and Wadhurst pet shops later if not done already - presumably you have some up around Mayfield village Chris?
- 2017-09-28 05:37 Zoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
- Still no sighting sadly:-( Jenny and Tiga tried to track today but unfortunately, because Lottie has free run of the farm, there were her scents everywhere so was really hard to actually track her but at least that avenue has been tried. So, I think the posters are the key as well as sharing though Facebook etc and hopefully there will be a sighting.

- 3 hours of woodland bashing this morning and now all of the properties around the outside of the woods and fields have flyers. Many lovely calls offering help - thank you to all who called - even one who has a flyer and could hear me yelling a field away from her house. No sign or sightings yet. The Sunday afternoon sounds may have been her hunting up near to one of our neighbours houses on the Mayfield side of the block of land. Have asked now that people search sheds barns etc. Thank you to all for such amazing support

- I spent a couple of hours after work walking the local lanes and footpaths close to where Lottie went missing. Sadly no sightings. Spoke to a couple of local dogwalkers and farmers but they hadn't seen anything either. I think the key is to get some posters up in the hope that someone saw her either when she first went missing or sometime since. Apparently Lottie is a real home bird and loves her home comforts so it is out of character for her to be gone for so long. Let's hope tomorrow brings some better news. X

- Hello Zoe
Thank you for your support.
She wandered off from the woods behind Almond Wood Bungalow probably heading towards Meres Lane. She likes to hunt, even at her advanced age and is not quick enough to catch anything. She is not as far as we are aware shut in anywhere at the place she wandered from - if she is shut in she barks so we would know anyway. I have posters and will do leaflet drop around the village today. Have knocked on some doors in Meres Lane Mayfield end so far. Very worried she is still out, she hates the rain. She is a fussy eater - a real Lily's Kitchen girl. - 2017-09-26 05:24 Zoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
- I will email you some extra advice. It will come from my personal email so please check your junk.

- Well done for getting Lottie listed on here (it was me that added the link on Amie's Facebook page). Please get some posters up locally. Can you give me an exact location of where she went missing from. I'm going to try to get out and search when I get back from work later. Are there any places where she could have taken shelter that you know of? Try to notify all your neighbours that she's missing and ask them to check outbuilding etc. Is there's any chance that she's been shut in somewhere? I will liase later in the day. Am happy to put some posters up but don't have a printer so if you can print off then I don't mind displaying. Really hope there's some good news today. X
