- Sadly no, I intend to send a letter to local vets and PDSA with a photograph explaining the situation. Mutley was elderly and quite poorly, so it's possible he may need to see a vet. This is about all I can think of, we've tried everything else. Thank you for asking. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- also check out the rabbiting fraternity. Lots of them love dogs not just for hunting, and will take in an oldie. Have you also tried putting yourself in the footsteps of the girls who picked him up. I would be tempted to go back there in a car, same time of the day, same day of the week and try to think it through. What would you do if you found an old dog and didnt know you are obliged to contact the dogwarden? Where would you park up first to ask? go in and ask them. Really try to act the part of the finder, and contact whoever you think they will have contacted, and visit whoever you think they will have visited that day, and ask the questions you think you would ask in that position. Stop at the first business or house after the beach that is easy to pull up near in the car, ring the RSPCA for that area, and call in at the police station. Play the part in your mind of someone who has found an "abandoned" elderly dog, and explain to the people you ask what you are doing. good luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thank you for your messages, I've only just picked them up. I've been checking the site daily, but as Mutley's page was on my favourites, I didn't pick up the messages referring to him. Did contact the finder of the Patterdale in Cardiff as soon as I saw it, unfortunately no joy. Mutley was elderly and not in the best of health, needed lots of nursing and TLC. I'm feeling despondent and not very hopeful today. Tried everything, adverts in local paper, posters, dog warden, local appeals. If there's anything else you can suggest I'll do it. Many thanks for the support. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Well done Baldrick. So glad owner is proactive perhaps an update then would be a good idea? As not many helpers on here perhaps Mutley could go to the top and perhaps some more will come on board. I noticed Mutley as checking out Patterdale Terriers as many missing in my area. Because he is a working type, Baldrick (and owner) if you have the time could you look at Whizz (Patterdale) SW lots of ideas there for you to try. Thaanks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Sorry this lad is still missing. I wish I wasnt so far away. Am not sure of this area at all. Assume all local vets have been postered, plus any pet shops, boarding kennels, unofficial rescues as well as official ones? Is there a holiday park or anything nearby that has new year visitors? If so, where are most visitors from (for example in our area of Wrexham and Llangollen most tourists are from Liverpool. Blackpool area has tourists from all over, but especially N Wales and Scotland, N Wales coast youre looking at Liverpool visitors again. You could then e mail vets and dog wardens in that area-just a thought). There is also a website listing most of the dog wardens. Many have e mail. I found it by putting DOG WARDEN in the search engine. I am a bit limited, but if there is any e mailing or address/phone number finding I can do please PM me and Ill do all I can to help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
