An organised event is planned fro this Saturday 4th November. If anyone is able to help?
Street search for Scruffy in Winton and Charminster area - we will need as many volunteers as possible to run different activities from handing out leaflets in the area and conversing with people to teams of 2 going door to door in mapped out areas. We will all convene at 'The Candle Jar' in Winton at 1pmLast edited: 2017-11-03 07:47:20 by Gnasher - Area Co-ordinator, East Dorset

Still no news of Scruffy since the the early sighting. Family friends and volunteers are continuing round the clock searches and have postered well. Fears are growing that he may have been found and taken. Anyone with any information please contact the family on the numbers given or contact Doglost confidentially

Still no news of Scruffy despite extensive searching. Update taken from his owners facebook post on Doglost Dorset.......
So this is our plan to find Scruffy. It is now over 48hrs so we have to start considering further afield although I would like to continue striking off areas of Meyrick Park - The park itself has been 'eyeballed' very thoroughly by a small army of friends and volunteers but today I started physically 'sticking' everything in wooded areas to find fox holes big enough to allow Scruff in.

1) and half of number 2) took me an hour so I am hopeful I can finish 3-7 tomorrow! These are all arranged in order of importance to where Scruff disappeared and where he likes to be in Meyrick.

So far I have identified 4 potential holes he could fit in. After all holes are identified I would like to mark off all holes either with an IR camera or hose/funnel method.

At this point if no joy I think we can safely say Scruff isn't in the park anymore :( So, the coloured lines are our door to door flyer and street poster signage strategy! The yellow roads we have completed today with door to door flyers and chats. We aim to talk to everyone but if we can't will still post a flyer. Our 'chat rate' so far is about 60% but so far no signings :(
Once a series of streets are finished we place a poster at the major intersections for that series.

We hope to have use of a flying drone for Friday! This will follow up our work with flyers! We currently drive the route to our home on Bemister Road every evening, several times to try and catch him enroute and visit his regular walking haunts of Winton Recreation Ground and Queens Park. By Sunday our aim is to have everything in blue covered by at least a poster and/or door to door flyer. As you can see, its a lot of work!

I would be deeply grateful for any help offered :) So far this group has done nothing but impress me with its kindness and putting that kindness into action :) It will be very hard to repay but I can promise endless cups of tea and coffee for all involved from our mobile scruff operations center! (A caravan I just parked up in Meyrick in case Scruff comes back there or pops out of a hole in the middle of the night).Last edited: 2017-10-27 08:26:08 by Gnasher - Area Co-ordinator, East Dorset

Still no sign of Scruffy sadly. Warden is aware he is missing. His owner has been searching and listening at holes in case he has gone to ground. He knows the area well and on a previous occasion found his way home. Have advised to poster the area well so if he is seen his owner can be contacted quickly. Have provided contact number for Network Rail and suggested they are called to check the line due to proximity to the railway.
Thank you everyone that have been helping search and sharing x
