- With all the people keeping their eyes open for these lost dogs, it would be nice if the owners would confirm that they are reunited.

- Pleased to hear this...this is definitely not the first time police have had bad records of picking up dogs (Beats on this site springs to mind but there are many others). You do wonder what else they aren't keeping records of...and why would he have been rehomed after 5 days when the law says 7?

- From owners facebook page.....UPDATE 🐾
We’ve had news that Charlie will be returning home today 😁 Absolutely delighted doesn’t even come close..
But this is NOT due to the police who originally took Charlie. This is down to having a amazing friend Stacey Lawrence who has contacts within the dog unit. Without them Charlie would of had a totally different fate. If we hadn’t of pushed the police like we and you all did Charlie would of either been rehomed after 5 days or worse!! We will be taking legal advice (once he is safe at home) The system with police picking up dogs within some forces really needs looking into. I dread to think how many others this has happened to. They literally told us for 3 days they knew nothing about Charlie being picked up, if that went on past the 5 day period he would of been classed as un owned. They made NO effort to contact us through the chip details. I even have my number on his chip for emergencies. What is the point in the LAW stating you must have your dog chipped. We will push for answers and push to get this system changed. Thank you everyone and we will update with a happy Charlie photo once he is home - 2017-11-09 18:13 Karen P
- Could well be Rosemar Kennels at Brockham he has been taken to. I know the Dog Warden uses these kennels as that's where I adopted one of mine from after finding him stray in Burstow.

- Update..
Charlie was picked up by the police and sent to a holding Kennels. They will not tell us where or why. The officer who picked him up is apparently the only person that can speak to us and he is on nights now for over a week and won’t make contact till after then. The police service on this occasion are a disgrace. Poor Charlie locked up because they are under staffed.. he could spend weeks stuck in there now waiting assessment. He did not kill sheep or harm anyone so I can’t understand why they won’t release him. Is it because he is a Spanish breed. I don’t know but they won’t tell us anymore and asked for us to stop calling 😡 - 2017-11-07 11:54 Skywalker99
- I would get some legal advice, believe Wheldon law specialise in dogs...doglost should be able to help with who to call though. Ando no surprise that Surrey Police 'forgot' where they had taken him.....Last edited: 2017-11-07 11:59:28 by Skywalker99

- Update on Seran's FB post:
The police have Charlie in a holding Kennels and he needs to go through a assessment as he was caught near sheep. The owner of the sheep didn’t want him shot and they took the time to catch him thankfully. The police still need to do their assessments but it’s such a shame they wouldn’t contact us straight away. We will be looking into this but the most important thing is to get this boy home and safe. Thank you to everyone who has helped and we will keep you posted. - 2017-11-06 19:08 Shadow
- Is there any more news as I live near here and there are no posters up in the area.
- 2017-11-04 08:47 Seran
- Charlie was spotted at New Farm House off Antlands Lane and they called the police who couldn’t catch him. Hopefully he is still in that area. If anyone spots him he is a very kind dog but obviously scared now. It will help that people know his name. He is a big eater so smelly meat will get his attention I’m sure. He has slipped his collar so a slip lead will be helpful.. Thank you to everyone who has offered to help xxLast edited: 2017-11-04 08:48:29 by Seran

- Sorry to see that CHARLIE is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (121591)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
