Wow Moira you must be elated!!!! So pleased to hear this wonderful news. PLEASE stay on as a helper in your area (and beyond) and help others like yourself who are desperate to find their dogs. As you have seen you can never underestimate the power of the poster, and because you were so actively postering it has meant your little girl is back. As Corbiere has said, totness (rough coated basset) is missing from close by to you ~ his owner lives out of the area and so posters need putting up everywhere, so please help if you can. Welcome back Darla. Good news you have your dogs tagged and chipped too of course.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Moira if you want to help in your area and have some time, you could look on Totness's page - some postering needs doing around Malmesbury area, several dogs missing inc Totness. Please get in touch with Greylady and get some action going there! Totness's owner lives in Lancs so is a bit stuck for help and these dogs need to be made too hot to handleLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry that should have read "can not LET GO of the flexi lead"Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So pleased you have got her back. Something that might help in future - I use Flexi leads a lot as I have hounds who can't always be let off lead. I thread a long lead through the handle of the flexi to form a loop which then goes over my shoulders. This way I can not the flexi and can scoop poop etc. while still keeping hold of the dog. Can even hold two flexis at the same time without problems!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm so pleased to hear that this lovely girl is back home and that Morira is celebrating the happy occasion with a drink or two! Your must be so relieved. And how clever of Darla to make enough fuss to draw the neighbour's attention to her plight. Although not relevant on this occasion, could this very precious girl have a chip AND an ID tag on her collar as a welcome home present? FANTASTIC NEWS!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ive searched the woodland from the lodge at the Stow road x roads, allotments, around the travel lodge and somerfield back down the burford road into Cirencester, just in case Darla was caught on something by her lead, I then went up the Whiteway, alerted people at Whiteway farm, and the rugby club. Abbey estate know, and they will spread the word and keep an eye open. Stay positive Moira and Carlos, and as Greylady says, poster poster poster and poster some more!Suexx ps will get on to more loacal landowners tooLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Any news yet ?with a flexi trailing it will be quite obvious to anyone who spots her that she is not a stray and that someone will be searching for her =let' s hope that she has already been taken in to a warm place - How much easier her journey home would be IF she had a chip or even the simple LEGAL requirement of an identity disc on her collar/harness.....Spread the word to the Golden Farm= customers chatter..Posters will be blanketed all over the place just as soon as i can get them printed off-Hang on in Darla's disraught owner =we are searching for you..............Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the update Triste, and sorry to hear that there is no positive news. Please take some time to have a look at the other dogs missing from the South West on this page as Darla is one of a number of small terrier-type dog who are missing from the Glos/Wilts area. The easiest way to find the others is to enter "lost dogs" and "south West" in the search fields which will bring up all the other dogs who are missing. I would urge you to contact all the other owners and work together. Someone MUST know where these dogs are going.................... when you are visiting the kennels where stray dogs are taken you can all help each other by looking out for each others dogs. Great news that you are now registered on DL, please cme on here and update us with what you have done so far, who you have informed (police/rescues and DW's) What cannot be underestimated here is the power of putting up posters. You will need to put them in plastic wallets with the opening at the bottom, sellotaped shut to keep this terible weather out, and loads of drawing pins to pin them up everywhere. You will need hundreds of them! I know its a filthy day and not the kind of weather to be doing it, BUT I cannot over estimate how important this is. You will find lots of support and good ideas from this site and there will be eyes everywhere!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
