Any news of this little one yet? I cannot believe all the pups that are being stolen......What are the police doing about this? To answer my own question it seems to be nothing. Yet all over the country animals are being taken for profit. It's a terrible crime that is not being addressed by the authorities. We need to become more pro active as dog owners. Best wishes to Sharpei's owners I do hope she is found soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is an advert in my local paper for a brindle bitch described as approx. 3 months old. Was being sold in a pub and a man bought her so as the undesirables could not and passed her on to rescue to find her a home. There is a pic of her in the paper. Hi I have spoken with the owners this afternoon regarding Sharpei - i was out walking my dog on Streatham Common (on the front of the common near the high road) (my dog looks VERY similar in the markings although MUCH bigger!) when I was approached by a youth asking "do you want another one?" and he then went on to say he had a young puppy - a bitch - and did I want her. It seemed odd and it was only when I returned home and logged on that I saw the notice about Sharpei. Croydon is not that far from Streatham, I have alerted the owners - so anyone walking dogs in the Streatham area please be aware if you are approached by this youth (young - late teens early 20's, tall - around 6', grey tracksuit, black boy with small afro (and wearing hood and hat) Perhaps its a long shot but it's worth looking into! Good Luck and I'm praying for the return of that cute baby - such a sweetie! Dogangel...x p.s. I'll distribute more posters around Streatham area and notify other dog walkers to be alert!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes please sandobes, do your worst and plaster them all. doglady thanks for advising owner. mariaauguste you have lots of good advice from helpers being given here. They have seen several dogs go missing in that area and recovered again so don't feel alone. Do put lots and lots of posters up in all the shops and and parks, I know there are lots but its worth it. Lots of surrounding areas to cover including New Addington as has been said, Addiscombe another close by and Shirley too. They could have travelled from anywhere, so posters wherever you think helpers. Sue x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

New Addington is the place to poster and also Caterham and also put posters up in near by parks as a lot of dogs are being trade on in the parks at night and week-ends. Did they just take SHARPEI when you was burgled? if so then it may be some one you know and also knows SHARPEI worth looking into I will get some posters up around this way. if you keep her hot you may just get to here something. Hi Millys mum, Megans owners no longer have access to doglost due to personal reasons but I believe Megan was tracked down to the New Addington area. I would definitely try here - lots of not so nice ppl living here. Will read up on Megan and see where else Sherpei owner can try. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just remembered! The name of the female Lurcher stolen fron the Ikea car park in Croydon was Megan. Owners, do you have internet access and are you registered with Doglost yet? If so, please have a read of Megan's story: 1/12/06 Lurcher bitch, South East CR0 as It will give you some useful info. Do Megan's owners still post on DL?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry to hear that Sharpei is missing but good to hear that she is chipped. Although I live in BR3, Croydon is only around 5 miles from here. So many of our stolen dogs are traded on via pubs and so visit all local pubs, especially at lunchtime and early evening, when they tend to less busy. Ask the manager to display a poster of Sharpei. The regulars/customers will have loads of local contacts and will be a mine of information. Also display Sharpei's poster in your car and ask all family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues to do the same. Put posters up in supermarket car parks, post office sorting offices, outside schools and mini cab offices. Just poster like mad - at least 100/200 to start with! Place the posters in those punched pockets with the opening at the bottom and secure firmly with tape or several stout drawing pins (I normally used 6-8 drawing pins per poster). That way passing morons will find it more difficult to rip them down. You really can't put up too many posters - just make little Sharpei the hottest puppy in town. Make sure you visit ALL police stations in person, ask them to display a poster and make sure Sharpei's details are logged and that you get a crime reference number. Also place posters outside any traveller's sites. I recall we had a lurcher (or was it a greyhound?) stolen from a car parked in a Croydon car park and I believe she/he was recovered from a nearly traveller's site. Keeping everything crossed that this little cutie will be back home with you very soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
