So pleased to see Ben is back home, safe and sound and presumably none the worse following the accident and what lovely people to put themselves out at that time in the morning. They must be two very caring souls. Please may this very precious young man have a chip and an ID tag on his collar as a welcome home present?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ben is back! owner had a call at 4.00am this morning-a lady was driving her mother to the airport when her mother noticed Ben as she had seen the posters-so her daughter had to drive her to where she saw the posters and they rang owner-owner went to the football pitch and called but nothing-BUT as he started his engine up Ben came running up-welcome home Ben!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Will call owners again later today and see if they are registered or not. The person who I spoke to at the kennels today doesn't know who brought that collie bitch in. Will try to get more info from police tomorrow.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for doing that Owl and sorry to hear that it wasn't Ben. As you have spoken to the owners have you been able to check whether they are registered on here yet? All this would be so much easier if they could update us. Can we confirm that the collie bitch at Woodborough is the dog from Radstock police? There is a kennel at Radstock police station, so this would be worth checking, if its a different dog. However the office is closed today (number below is unobtainable - the number for ALL police stations in Avon and Somerset is 08454567000) There is also a kennel at Bath Police station although they will normally take any found dogs straight to Bath Cats and Dogs Home over the weekend.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Location of crash was Weston Lane in Weston village. Unfortunately no one saw what direction Ben took off in. Luckily no one was hurt in the accident, but it must have been very scary for Ben.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is owner registered and able to post please? We know from experience that most dogs who escape after RTA don't go very far from the scene. They usually find cover and keep a low profile. Please can someone tell us the exact spot of the RTA so we can get the maps up and try to figure where Ben may be holed up? Thanks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Also, in the poster (unless it is my eyes) he looks like a red & white (or chocolate and white) to me, not black and white .. is the B&W information correct??? ...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have put requested for helpers in this area to join the search on several obedience email groups, and have asked it to be cross posted. This usually ends up with the information being on about 20 email groups. I hope people in the area will come forward to help search for this poor boy. All fingers and toes cross for Ben to return swiftly. Do we know if owner is able to contact rescues/police/wardens etc if they were in an accident? ... Owner please make a call to Woodborough kennels as this is where the local strays go (at PSJ) also Bath C&DH at Claverton. Bath Police are very helpful with stray dogs, so please make sure they have a poster in their front office. Please register on this site to let us know how you are getting on.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
