- Where Found Cottage Lane, Westfield, East Sussex - Poppy made her way back to the same spot we lost her!
- Found In Region South East
- Found In Post Area TN35
- Date Reunited 08 Dec 2017
- Other Info Poppy was with her owner working on a landscaping project in Westfield on 30 Nov when she ran away. She doesn't know the area so may not be able to find her way back on her own. She's been known to go into setts after badgers. She's fearful of other dogs which can sometimes come out as aggression, but she's very loving & very loved by her family. We are very worried about her & would be grateful for any help in finding her.

- It's definitely her! Such fantastic news, the whole family is over the moon. She's off to the vet for a check up but isn't looking too bad at all. Lots of tears - from me at least! Thank you all so much for your help and support - it's been fantastic and has kept our hopes alive. We will be making a donation. So happy to be able to show her as found!

- That looks like good news. Paws crossed it is your Poppy. Sometimes they go in one hole and come out of another some distance away and take a while to work out where they are.

- Paws crossed here! Sure it will be Poppy...

- I've JUST received a message from my husband to say that Poppy has been found safe and well! She's found her way back to where she went missing from. My father in law is on his way to pick her up - want to make sure it's 100% definitely her before we close the page, but I haven't seen news of any other missing patterdales in the area, so fingers crossed! Thank you all SO much for your help xxx

- Hi Francis, Just wondering if there has been any news or any further info?
- 2017-12-06 21:44 Bobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
- I'm so sorry that Poppy is still not found, you are doing really well. Keep on revisiting where she last saw owner as well as the setts and any other holes in the ground.
Also poster well and if not done already see if you can put some up in the garden centre, golf club club house and any pubs in area. Also call in at any stables in the area, horse riders have a different view being higher up and may see something. - 2017-12-06 21:42 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- I have messaged Jenny ( K9 Tracker ) She is busy at the moment, but owners could fill out request for help form on her webpage with Poppy's details.
Francis, well done, your family are trying hard to find Poppy, please don't give up hope, I would suggest keep checking all the holes even if they have already been searched as Lee suggests. Also check further a field in woods in case she has come out of a hole from a different entrance and has got disorientated. Posters further a field also. Fingers crossed .. - 2017-12-06 21:32 Bobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
- K9 tracker is not a charity! Jenny is probably away at the moment.

- K9 tracker is www.k9tracker.co.uk, you need to use the contact form on the website to contact.

- Hi Frances. When we found Brian down a hole, I was the second person to listen to the hole so don't discount going round them again!. we also got in contact with a charity called "K9 Tracker" towards the end. Drop them an email they might be able to help. Good luck.

- Hi all
Thanks so much for all your help and emails.
We've been out looking every day and have searched every hole we can find more than once. There was a big shoot in the area yesterday and we had all the beaters and guns on the look out, but still no sightings. We've spoken to postmen and have let all the farms in the area know that she's missing as well as the dog warden, microchip company, vets etc.
Any advice on what to do next? Lee - thank you very much for your offer of help - will speak to my father in law and see what he'd like to do.
Thanks all - 2017-12-05 14:49 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Thank You Bobble.
Thank You Lee for the offer of help, Im sure owners would be very grateful.
Am keeping eyes peeled to and from work as have to drive via Sedlescombe. - 2017-12-05 13:02 Lee
- Hi if she has not been found by the weekend we are more than happy to come and help look. We lost our girl for the best part of a week and were lucky enough to have a group of people help us look. We found her down a rabbit hole. Might be worth seeing if you can get a group together to help cover a larger area?. Good luck Lee and Terry.

- I'm so sorry to see that Poppy is still missing. TK, I have emailed owner as we discussed.
- 2017-12-04 10:13 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Sadly Poppy is Still Missing.
Have emailed advice sheets to owner & have emailed this morning with general advice in case she has gone down a hole & managed to get out a different entrance.
Owner has bee using hosepipe to listen down holes as many setts in area she is missing from, and family and friends have been out searching woods over the weekend.
Bobble has kindly offered to email owners also with advice.
I have asked owner to register with Dog Warden if not already done so as I still cant see her on Animal Warden page, but they might not have updated from weekend yet. - 2017-12-03 18:49 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Drove through Westfield earlier this afternoon, Lots of posters up and saw one at the Christmas Tree Farm which is good as many people visiting there at the moment.
Sorry she is still missing but it sounds like you are doing all the right things.
I will send you the " Terrier Advice Sheet " via email just in case there is some info on there that may be helpful.
She isn't showing on Animal warden page, it may be that they haven't updated their page over the weekend, but if wardens haven't been informed please et them know she is missing on 01424 490034.
Praying for you that there is some good news soon. - 2017-12-02 17:33 Sharon - Social Media Volunteer

- No news - somebody spotted a black dog about the same size and build as Poppy in Westfield village. So we're having a look there. We also got advice from somebody who'd lost a patterdale down a badger sett to use pipes and funnels to call into the setts and listen from them. We've got a couple of people doing that now.

Will be going over to Battle soon, will go Via A21 and keep eyes peeled.
Everything crossed she finds her way back to where she went missing from very soon. - 2017-12-01 14:10 francesbidwell
- Thank you so much.
She went missing at about 3pm yesterday. We left the car there yesterday with the door open and my father-in-law's (her owner) fleece for her - will do so again tonight. I'm doing this from London for my parents-in-law but believe the microchip company and dog warden are aware - will double check. I will email Pestalozzi and we will poster tomorrow. Thanks again!

- Email alert received in TN37.
Sorry to hear that Poppy is missing.
Do we have a little more information as to what time yesterday Poppy went missing.
If not already done, can owners please let dog warden know 01424 490034
Also let microchipped company know so they can flag her as missing and check that the contact details they have are up to date.
Looking on google map, Pestalozzi Village is near to where she went missing so would be a good idea to let them know she is missing so they can keep a look out.
She may return to place she went missing from, so place familiar blanket/item of clothing there so that if she does return there will be a familiar scent to hopefully keep her there.
If posters can be printed and put up around area so to alert passers by & locals.
Will Share on fb
Fingers crossed she is found very soon.
