skids66, welcome on board Doglost and thanks for updating everyone. Brilliant that you have covered all forms of identification on Merlin and having him NEUTERED. Getting him in the public eye will most certainly have helped in a big way to get him back. Hope you now stay on DL as a helper in your area. Give Merlin a big hug and kiss from everyone on here. Hi Everyone, I'm Merlins owner, he is indeed home safe and sound. He was left at a local church, the people who found him called the local dog rescue centre, who could identify him by his tatoo on the inside of his ear and his microchip. Unfortunately our 7 foot tall secure fence around the perimeter of our property has had a hole cut in it through which we assume Merlin was taken, his collar which has his ID tags attached had been removed and left in our garden. The fence has now been replaced. He is also nuetered, obviously making him useless to anyone wanting to breed from him. We had several calls informing us of local sightings of a dog fitting Merlins description being walked on a rope by a male youth, neither dog nor youth looked comfortable with each other. Merlins disappearance was made VERY public locally and we suspect the lad my have panicked and left him at the church. At least we have him back though and he is fine considering the ordeal. A big thank you to everyone who helped getting him back by displaying posters so quickly, and thanks for all the good wishes.

So pleased to hear that Merlin is back home safe and sound. Would be interested to know how he as found. As a Rottie owner myself for the past 24 years, I really cannot bear for this breed to be out and about on their own or for them to fall into the wrong hands (especially in the present climate!). One small, but very important request, could this precious boy have an ID tag on his collar to compliment his chip? But finally... welcome home Merlin!!!

This is good news he's back. Perhaps it may be an idea to add a tattoo to his chip. He's a lovely looking lad. Another thing is to let people you walk with know that someo one tried to take him & if they see him in future to stall whoever he's with.

Some local lads were expressing an interest in him a few weeks ago asking if he was tattooed etc-owner would not give them any info.
