I have spent 7-9 hours per day searching, postering, plotting, setting dens and traps for Napier and with no sightings yesterday it was wonderful to receive so many calls saying Napier had been sighted. I had been very close to the area (1.2 miles) checking the den we had made in Green Drove but that was unused. So such a relief when I met Amy walking towards me with Napier in her arms. I couldn't get hold of the owner so took her home and the dog warden picked her up, and then took her to the vets for a check up before he returned her to her owner who had been away on holiday till last night, later in the day. Should anyone want to look at her sightings map and route its here:

Well done Amy, you’re a star!!! And so good to hear your story, you are amazing!!! I don’t think anyone could believe she’s been caught. Thank goodness xxxx

Sweet work Amy - you got the join up spot on.

I'm the runner that caught her this morning! She was very timid but seemed to love the attention of my 11 month old lab and I knew if I could get Wilma close enough to her I'd be able to get her. It took a while and after a few laps of the field, Wilma went to play again and I just talked to her and she came to me! She loved a cuddle and I'm so glad she's safe! I could not have left her knowing how long she had been out and just how cold it was!

I’ve asked one of the people and she said this -

“I meet up with my dogs a collie and a collie cross beagal with a lady who was walking her beagal. I was watching the stray beagal from a distance tgen thought it belonged to the lady who had the beagal. She said she's been following it but nobody with it. I tgen said that's the dog that's missing on Facebook. Thats when I put on spotted and called the warden. Then another lady came along who was running with her labs she kept running and the beagal was in front of her she couldn't get it. Then here dog manage to coach it into small area and it went all submissive like my one. She managed to pick it up. It didn't mind being held. Was a bit timid when I made a fuss of her. “Last edited: 2017-12-12 18:17:09 by Jenny B

Amazing news. X

The photo is the lady who was out running with her dogs when Napier approached her, I believe there were a few dog walkers there who helped as well. They recognised her as the missing beagle and seem to do all the right things, staying calm and quiet which meant Napier trusted them. A very happy ending!
Jenny B
Napier is safely home now - a big thank you has to be given to Sam Bradley and her Andover helpers who worked relentlessly for her safe return at all hours of the day! They were amazing.

I spoke to a driver who saw her on the 10/12 at around 1330 on the A343 at the top of the hill running down into Hurstbourne Tarrant Village. Owners were called. Going out now to search again. Leaving some items of the owners clothing where she went missing could help. Thinking of you all xx

Sighter has now spoken to owner and they now they have a clear idea of where to look. Described as being near the cross roads with the sign posts saying Hustebourne/Newbury Andover/Tangley Upton. Maybe someone on the ground could update with exact position. Good luck with catching her.
