Thank God for a happy ending and thank you Mrs. Mop for thinking of our Sian - PLEASE everyone still keep looking out for our precious family member she will be 11 in Feb and I don't think she could have fended on her own for long so she must have been picked up very soon after running in terror last June from the gunmen, sold on etc. Am sure Maverick will soon have his forever home - he looks beautiful (but then they all are and need love etc). Thank you but all the praise must go to Gordon today. Heavens Gate does check this site. I have a resue dog from Heavens Gate and had told my friend about Maverick and hoped they would be happy together but I am sure her head is ruling her heart now as she has decided she probably isn't the best owner for him. Some one out there must be waiting for him. And thank you to Jayne's quiet calm words to me this morning when I rang doglost and YES, Jayne, dogs called Maverick do get found!! Thankfully.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fab news! Thank you Mrs Mop and of course to Gordon ~ top marks to you (please sign up as a helper!) Someone on here has a connection with Heavens gate I recall ~ is it you Mrs MOP??? Thank you for being so pro-active here!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So a Big THANK YOU to Gordon. Maverick is chipped and the tag he had on his collar got him back to Heavens Gate Sanctuary quickly. The lady he was rehomed to has decided that she is not sprightly enough to be his owner ( it was hoped that they would both have some happy twilight years together) and so he is looking for a new home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just spoken to Gordon in Wedmore who caught Maverick. He first saw him runningup and down Wedmore High Street and stopped the traffic to stop Maverick being hit but Maverick ran back towards the road he ran off from but then disappeared. Gordon went home to get a lead and searched for him without success. Later walking dogs in a field near the village, he saw Maverick come into the field. The two dogs he was walking had dashed after a rabbit or something and so Gordon called Maverick every name he could think off and Maverick came closer. The two dogs returned and distracted Maverick and he was caught and walked back with Gordon at his side. Gordon took him to our vets who knew he was missing. So Maverick had a day out in the sun, rolled in the mud and was sensible enough to respond to Gordon who must have a way with animals. Maverick is back at Heavens Gate now and is a gentle gentleman looking for a forever home again. Please keep looking for Sian the rough collie missing from the same area and stiil desperately missed by her family.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Pleased to say that Maverick is back-found by an old man in a nearby field who coaxed him in then it was made easy as dog had a tag on.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
