- Well, nothing would surprise me, now you point it out, it does seem a bit suspicious. Thank God this dog has made it home safe and sound. Merry Christmas Fred xxx

- After a 2nd read of the farce with the Vets - my blood rang cold when I noticed the post code NN7 . One of the scariest places in the country if you own a dog.
How the local 'gang' in that area managed to miss stealing FRED is only down to pure luck. Or DID they try & get him? The finder sounds iffy & she seems to know the staff.
I thank God you found him before they did.
In 5 short weeks alone earlier this year 47 dogs have been stolen from that area - MOST of them were Spaniels - and 8 of them were heavily pregnant!!!
However, they will steal ANY BREED.
But what's baffling me is -
HOW do these 'litter thieves' know exactly where & when these puppies are due ??
I guess it's just a coincidence that many are stolen just day after seeing a vet.
Perhaps one of the dog thieves is psychic !!
Or maybe the 'dog thieves' know someone on the inside.........

- Stoppettheft - I agree with you 100% - there are far too many reports of Vets
"slip ups" in recent years.
Vets putting dogs to sleep by mistake!!
Vet surgeries "loosing" dogs brought in by the Warden!!
Vets handing over 'found' dogs to just anyone who turns up - without even taking their name & address!!
It makes no sense - why would a Vet behave this way??
Then it struck me - what if all these "errors" were not down to the Vet at all -
What if it's the reception staff??

- Oh Gosh - IF this is true about the Vets - then HOW irresponsible & unprofessional that they Scanned then returned Fred to 'finder' without asking for ANY Details - & WHY even Return Him ?!
what use is a 'chip if it doesn't Help Reunite pets with their rightful owners ? :( - 2017-12-15 20:58 Georgy Porgy

- Fred has been taken to a vets for scanning, BUT the vets let him leave with finder & didn't take contact details so Fred's people have no way of contacting x
