I do most sincerely apologise for putting on information that is now thought not to be correct information and only alleged that was originally given out by English Springer Spaniel Welfare on fb. I did not, nor intended to cause upset and added stress to the owners of Ivy. My apologies once again to you all.

Cosmopolitan, there is no evidence that Ivy was used for fighting. It is most likely that all were stolen for breeding not knowing all were spayed) or to sell on and a fight broke out in the vehicle between the dogs that were already in there. That would explain why her body was found close to home.
Stronger penalty for dog theft including imprisonment doesn't appear to be much of a deterrent.

It is truly heartbreaking. Such a horrible and miserable end for this youngster. At least she's out of pain now, but that's small comfort. I really feel for her owners.

Please everyone everywhere unite to ensure this is brought into the public domain and not to allow these low life animals from getting away with this, as this is what they will continue to do, and we must all fear for the other dogs that were stolen that day, as this must be connected. If we do nothing than dear Ivy will have been tortured and being put through this barbaric treatment for their self satisfaction. Let's not forget the poor dogs they are keeping as fighting dogs, that must be living daily lives of hell too. Please make this public and get this out in the open for people to know about and have a chance to do something about to stop it. We must be bigger in numbers than this low life minority . RIP Ivy xxx

Words too fail me, and I burst into tears hugging my little rescue dog upon reading this tragic update. I can not imagine the torture her owners and that of the other three dogs stolen on the same day are feeling. I agree that although it will be tough, this must be shown around the area, so that it can be highlighted as a barbaric event happening, and to make someone's conscious do the right thing. The police must be involved to help ensure this heinous crimes are not allowed to happen. Bless this beautiful dog, and we as humans have simply failed her. RIP you innocent creature, and I am ashamed right now to acknowledge there are human beings on this planet capable of such torture xxxx

This is so sad RIP Ivy. Would it be wrong to poster the area with Ivys poster stating she has been found and the reason she has gone to Rainbow Bridge. It might make someone come forward with information.

Heartbreaking and feel so helpless as no simple way of stopping such things happening. Relatives of people involved in such cruelty must be aware and I don't understand how they can turn a blind eye.

Owner on FB:- So, last night Ivy got stolen. This morning she was found dead. She'd been dumped by the side of a road having suffered serious dog bites and bruising that you can't even imagine. Just glad I have closure for my gorgeous girl. Thank you so much for all your kind words and support it really means so much. Totally gutted and left feeling empty,numb and so angry you can't believe. xx

There are no words to comfort I can give to Ivy's owners right now,only lots of BIG HUGS ....but be very sure that whoever did this will get a visit from
Karma....what one does....one gets back one way or another.

Oh my God I hope the other three dogs are safe. Poor Ivy. My heart goes out to her and her family. I trust the police are investigating this as it is obviously planned by someone who shouldn't be walking the streets. RIP Ivy xxx

Ivy went to rainbow bridge ...3 dogs from the same village were also stolen....Faith, Hope and Nellie.

There were another 3 stolen nearby not yet registered on DogLost. I will contact owner for CRN to change status to stolen.
