Sighting of a grey lurched type in fields near Bloxham. Spoken to owner she is on her way with 2 other adults. Please don’t flood the area with people and dogs - let the owners try to coax him if it’s Shadow.

Dog that was spotted in Chipping Norton today is not Shadow and it has been returned to owner. The search for Shadow continues.?

I will email out to local dog owners who I know, and cross-post on Lurcher link. I have a feeling that he could turn up anywhere, and not just in the local area. There have been numerous lurcher thefts locally in recent years.Last edited: 2017-12-26 16:55:35 by Claret

Posted in a local fb group last, given the possible sighting in a van, could be feasible for Shadow turning up further afield & wearing a different collar x "SPOTTED in Ecton Lane running across the road into the fields next to Overstone Manor. Friend just tried to help a very large dog running free. Has anyone lost a large brindle dog with choke chain collar? She lives in Sywell and was driving home when it ran across the road"

Shadow is still missing, no new information x

Has anyone been around local travellers' sites, and put up posters nearby?

The last lurcher that I helped to find had been stolen, bundled into a van and eventually released after we made it very 'hot' on local social media sites and by postering. She was being held on a local site.

Drone pilot went up there this morning but sadly nothing seen. Maybe another going up to tomorrow. Will update if there is one available. Last edited: 2017-12-22 21:11:24 by ClaireC

Possible sighting in Deddington this afternoon, owner aware x

Hi, I live in the area and have 2 sighthounds of my own, we have experience in finding lost dogs. I am happy to help if needed. You can leave a message for me on this board and I will monitor it.

Please do post all over local facebook and social pages, put up posters everywhere and send something in to the Banbury Guardian with photos - if you make him too hot to handle, then he may be returned. A reward helps too.
ClaireC
There was a possible sighting of Shadow with a man in a white van in Souldern yesterday. No other details are known. There is also the offer of help from a Drone SAR. Will update when further details are known. Last edited: 2017-12-21 10:25:44 by ClaireC

Keep going back to the point of bolting. Dogs often make their way back to that point again looking for owner. I’ve put Shadow on our local dog walking and owners sites at Brackley which cover surrounding areas. Also keep an eye on the two local churchyards, one near the White Horse Pub and the other about Hskf s mike gown the toad from there. Ask locals to display posters as very dog friendly village.
