Can I ask why you are convienced he escaped as apposed to stolen from the garden? Did you see him go? How did he get out?
Its not my area but the emergency number for the council says its 01803 867034 which I would call to find out if they have had any strays taken in or reported. Over the Christmas period (in our area) we have had stray dogs kept by the finders for up to 2 days before the council could take them.
you have put Tagged unknown, so did he have a collar on? even if no tag attached?
Most dogs will find their own way back (if not picked up). The best local places to contact are the pubs, garages, and holiday parks. Plus any postmen or taxi drivers working.
