hi glad freddie is back i remember you stopped me on cassy gabs field looking for him, i was walking my dog then 5 days later mine ran off from the kennels and luckily we found him the day after before we went away on holiday, it's the worst feeling ever and you do realise how much they mean to us, glad they are both ok now safe at home nicolaLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, sorry it has taken me so long to do an update, for some reason my internet connection went down last night. Thanks for all your kind wishes I am so relieved Freddie is home. Me and my partner were coming back from Manchester Dogs home and called in at his parents house, which is in Castleton, when we got a phone call. Freddie was found behind the Black Pitts pub in Castleton around 3.30pm/4.00pm yesterday. He has had a good nights sleep and some food. He's got quite a few war wounds but hopefully with all the medication he has been prescribed from the vets he should be ok. Just want to say thanks to everyone who helped in the search for Freddie and I hope our good luck will be passed on to other owners missing their dogs.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to one of Freddie's owners. Sarah was at the vets. They are over the moon to have Freddie back and as soon as he is a lot better they will be getting him CHIPPED. Great to hear they will now be staying on DL as helpers. Sarah will post an update when she gets home. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So pleased that Freddie is now back with his loving family. A lot of tlc and this boy will soon be back to his old self. Owner, please get Freddie chipped. There are lots of not so nice people out there, and a chip will provide proof of ID. Stay safe now Freddie. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I am the owner of Freddie and thought I would update you. I have received a few responses to my adverts put in all local papers in my area. However, two callers gave very good descriptions. T The first one is from a lady who saw a young lad with a Staffordshire Bull Terrier fitting the description of Freddie. He was outside the papershop at Falinge Flats, Rochdale walking towards Falinge Park. He was seen approximately 1.00pm on 08.02.08. I have since put up some posters around that area and have also spoken to the owners of the Newspaper Shop who stated that the picture of Freddie looked very familiar - they have put a poster up in their shop. The second, was from a lady living on Hereford Way, Boarshaw, Middleton stating that on 09.02.08 a dog, fitting the description of Freddie, followed her children from the main road. She said it was in her house but wasnt aware at the time of the advert in the paper. The dog then followed the children outside but not sure where it went. I have been to the area this morning. There is a good possibility it could be Freddie as Hereford Way is near the canal, coming from Castleton where he went missing, and a lane which takes you to Stakehill Industrial Estate and further on to Tandle Hills. Unfortunately the area is quite large and there are plenty of fields/commons/dog walking areas. I will be visiting the area again today and will be displaying more posters. I just want to thank everyone for their support it is really nice knowing that there are kind hearted people out there willing to help and I hope Freddie is found soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to owner, they have done the first part of registration, they have been trying to leave an update. I've explained how to use the pm system and activate their account so hopefully this will be sorted soon. They have been checking MDH and other rescues in the area. Owner will update us as soon as they can. Good luck and hope to see Freddie in the blue soon. Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke to owner this morning to advise him that a brindle and white male staffy was collected from Rochdale Police Station on Tuesday night and taken to Manchester Dogs Home on Wednesday 6th Feb. Owner says he visits MDH every day and will return this afternoon. A long shot as there are SBT's taken to MDH every day. Wished him good luck etc. KnoxyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Glad Freddie has been added to the group. Ive just logged on my comp and have found the poster waiting for me. I live in Castleton, which is where Freddie has gone missing. The owner has already placed posters up, as i have seen them in my local shop, and i do believe they have also contacted the council, police, milkmen, and an advert in our local newspaper. Will check records at work asap. Owner should visit Manchester Dogs Home in person (not via phone) as they take in strays for Rochdale area via Dog Warden, Pet Medics and Greater Manchester Police.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
