I’m so sorry Dougal has been killed. After all you went through when he was missing and then the joy of getting him back home again in February. It’s just so unfair. I hope he didn’t suffer. My thoughts are with you. RIP beautiful boy xx

Lovely members of Dougals Army, this is the hardest post I’ve ever had to write. I had a phone call this morning from Martyn Crowden with the most awful news, telling me that Dougal had been knocked down and tragically died. As you can all imagine he is totally devastated. This is the saddest news and our deepest condolences go out to Martyn and his family. They have been through so much. Without Dougal, this group would never have been possible so we will continue on in his memory. I know how devastated we all are at this very sad news. This little guy touched the hearts of thousands and will never be forgotten.

I would ask you all to please not send private messages to Martyn as he is inconsolable at this time.

RIP Beautiful Dougal. We will never forget you.

Jenkins just to make this a bit clearer that Martyn is referring to the “admin” on their fb page they chose to set up. I would hate to see our Jayne or our admin staff receive the duplicate fotos of the numerous dogs that people are picking up from everywhere and just simply sending to him!!

Could everyone please send all for sale posts to admin and not to Martyn's phone. He is overwhelmed by the work everyone is doing but last night he had nearly 1000 text with photos of dogs and a lot were the same dogs and it's impossible for him to reply to everyone. Last Sunday there was a travellers white truck parked in Smallfield outside the shops. In the trailer on the back there was as far as I could see 2 dogs a chocolate spaniel looking out the gap (could only see the face and saw the back of a white with markings spaniel) about 11am. I have called 101 and reported this and a there are lots of CCTV facing the road they said they would look into it. The dogs could be from anywhere. The ref number is P18022824.

sighting early hours of today of a brown dog on the road between Baynards Green and Bicester. Waiting for exact location. Sighter thinks the dog was chunky and more staffy??? still has to be ruled in or out, it would have been dark and happened quickly.

We’ve had a drive around this evening whilst journeying back from being away. We drove around a few villages close from where stolen just in case Dougal was around loose! Nothing seen. Lots of posters have now gone up in surrounding areas with the kindnhelp of MK dog squad ladies. Tomorrow I hope to collect more and poster other villages in addition.

Message from one of our residents: "There is a chocolate brown spaniel dog that seems to have escaped. I found him on green lane about 30 minutes ago and along with a guy, have been trying to catch him ever since but have now lost track of him. I have contacted parkvets and Arkvets as he does not have a collar."

Confirmed by Martyn Dougal is a Working Cocker Spaniel. He has asked If people can share to working Cocker Spaniel groups or gundogs that would be very helpful. He has now got 1,000 posters ready to be distributed as from tomorrow in and around the local area. Unfortunately I am not here this weekend but if there are people who live nearby to area stolen from and are willing to help poster places please can you text me on 07887652916 with your contact details I can then pass onto him. He is not local to this area and is only here Mon-Fri normally so is totally unfamiliar with the area. Thank you on his behalf.
