Male Saluki Tan in colour sighted tonight and twice in the last week in Streatham Vale, London, SW16. Very skinny boy and skittish. My friend was very close but couldn't catch him. Please see Found section on here for photo.

Meadowes there is a Saluki cross on the found pages, say fawn with white but might be worth you checking out as they do not say where the white is. Dolly 6.2.05Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Meadows, i have not posted on here before, but when i read your story, i just had too. We had our long dog stolen from our kennels in our garden, and by the not so desirable people in this world. They watched us walk are Parsons Jack Russell and Shino (he is on this site also) and then one night took Shino, luckily Gavin escaped but is now quite frightened of people coming up to him! I pray you get Ralph back soon! and I hope he is safe and well! I think about Shino all the time and just can't understand why people do this!! there is no need!!!! Unfortunately this year we had more bad news. My b/f bought be a JRT - Jake puppy for christmas, but in January this year, someone got into his van and stole him! Luckily he was chipped (shino was not chipped or tatooed) 1 wk before he was taken but we have not heard anything about him! It is the not knowing that hurts the most, but i will keep a avid eye on Ralphs page now! I really hope our dogs are being cared for and are safe and well!!! Gonna well up soon!!!! Take Care!!! Love Sarah & Murphy (this is my new puppy, Jakes Cousin) Jake 21.1.05 xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I feel awful that i have not posted on Ralphs page before. I don't really know what to say other than my thoughts are with you (as they are with every other person on this site that has a missing dog) and truly hope that the dream that you had comes true.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Shevaun, Miasmum and Alfiesmum. It is difficult to maintain hope after all this time, particularly with an older dog. At the New Year I dreamt I'd found Ralph and he was living with an old gypsy man who said he wanted to keep Ralph. It was one of those dreams that don't quite make sense, but it did give some hope that he may be still alive. I just don't know where to go from here.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you, Miasmum. I must admit I am beginning to give up hope of ever seeing my boy again, as he's over 10 and a half years old. I've had him since he was exactly 8 weeks old, having chosen him at 4 weeks old - he fell asleep in my hand, stretched out his tiny paws and sighed. He has had a lot of health problems in the past and has been very accident prone, but he's always come back. His two nephews were taken with him, but luckily I got them back.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Sharon, thanks for your kind thoughts. This morning I was interviewed by Meridian TV, like George's owner, for the piece they're filming on dog theft. It should be going out within the next couple of weeks or so. It may be too late to help Ralph but there are so many of us in the same position and it all helps to raise the profile of the problem.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Meadowes sorry to here your sad story. Everyday I find a new story on here each as sad as the last. It really brings it home to me just how big this problem is and something as got to be done about it. He is a lovely dog.xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Goerges owner:
Hi - have just left a message on Georges page for you (page 3), meant to leave it here but typed on the wrong page!!! Sorry I've not visited Ralph before, please don't give up - the dog warden in my area just reunited one owner with her dog after it had been missing for 3 years!!! Wishing you loads of luck, Caroline xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ralph has been missing exactly 1 yr. It was at about this time, between 1.45 - 2.00 p.m., that the thieves smashed in the back window of my car and took 3 dogs, leaving 1 dog in the car. The youngest one taken escaped and came running back within in minutes, minus his collar & lead. The next dog was found wandering on a travellers' site 12 days later. The oldest, Ralph, is still missing. He is now 10 1/2 yrs old, if he's still alive. God bless you Ralph.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Did anyone go to Stow Fair, which I believe was last Thursday (21st Oct)? I was told about this on Saturday 23rd, by which time it was too late otherwise I would have gone to the Fair myself. I gather there were lots of Saluki x types there, and puppies being offered for sale. I wonder if anyone there would have known anything about my missing boy.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm really sorry that you still have had no definite news on your beautiful boy. Hopefully someone will recognise him soon and report the sighting to you - he's got to be out there somewhere! Good luck, I often think how awful it must be to be waiting for news. Don't give up hope!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have visited the area but no sign of my boy. Spoke to the people at the hotel (he was seen in the hotel car park) and left them a poster. The travellers' site is not visible from the road, but will make sure that some posters get on to the site. You never know, someone there may know something.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm sorry there have been no further sightings recorded. This is such a beautiful, striking looking dog. I don't live in your area but hope you get some good news soon. Keep putting posters up, they really help! Good luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

He is still missing. There have been no definite sightings in the areas where he was reported to have been dumped, i.e. Wantage, Salisbury Plain, etc. If he has been found or handed in to a rescue centre, he may have been mistaken for a lurcher; because is smooth, he doesn't have the usual ear fringing. Please keep a lookout for this dog. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
