- Wonderful news. So pleased for you. Stay close now Cheeky:-)xxx
I would keep Cheeky indoors now for at least a week, or he may try to find his old home again. Also make sure his scentis all around the hosue, and garden. Use a piece of cloth or if he has a spare blanket, wipe it around his neck (Front and back) And try to find a sheltered spot in the garden, or hang on the line until he settles. Cats hate change of any kind, this is why they will try to return to their previous home. With cats it`s all about scent; theirs, and their ownersxLast edited: 2018-02-24 19:35:20 - 2018-02-24 15:58 Sandra Watt

- Thanks Jenkins. Also check all outbuildings, including empty houses, and garages in case shut in. ALWAYS take a SECOND LOOK as some cats will hide, in or between or an object within, especially if timid. One cat owner whose cat was missing, checked all outbuildings, but did`nt find her cat until she took a SECOND LOOK. He was hiding in one of the buildings. Also when searching use the same doedorant say that you use on a day to day basis, as he will recognize the scent. When it is nightfall, and your are searching use a strong torch as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Consider posting a LOST CAT ad in a National newspaper. Just because you cant see a cat, it doesn`t mean they are`nt round. Some cats who have been missing romr their home have been found around their own area, some even months. Ask around too.Last edited: 2018-02-23 07:55:01

- Hi, many cats that go missing have got into a delivery van or car and hitched a lift to their next port of call. Was there a delivery van around that day? Ask neighbours. Then call the delivery company and ask where the vehicle went next. Most vans use gps now and can say exactly where they went that day. A local cat got into a van and jumped out at a care home a couple of miles away after medications were delivered there. A friend noticed a poster on their gates and told the cat's owners. He had been regularly fed by the care home people and they were actively looking for his family. Really hope your cat comes home soon, thinking of you

- Here are some tips that may help.
Empty contents of the hoover onto the garden as his scent will be there. Put his unwashed blanket into a clean container, along with your scent too. Wipe his scent oin your garden fences, gates, doors too; anything leading up to the garden. Try squeaky toy as it may attract his attention. Walk aropund the area holding an object with his scent on, and rattle some Dreamies. Somone may be feeding him (Common problem) Poster around the area, and post flyers through doors too. And ask around, especially those with children as they can be very observant. - 2018-02-22 21:36 Sandra Watt
