Such great news. I had a good feeling about this one. A guy at work lives in Chelsfield and he gave me the impression that within less than 24 hours the word was around the village and there were many looking out for Barney (among all the other Rotties in the area!). Caryn - Barnabys owner Thank you all so much for your help you all gave me so much hope that he would be found. as it turns out he had just been on an adventure it seems. He was found by our local community police officer who we had called as Barny jumped infront of his car from the woods down the lane (and yes we had looked there 4 - 5 times amazing) and licked him to death apparanetly - thats my Barny!. Anyway thank you so much again your help was invaluable and i hope to help someone in the same position soon. Right now i'm off to give the naughty one a big hug. My thoughts however are with those who's dogs are not yet reunited and i will be willing the same outcome for you all. Thanks again CarynLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

HE'S BACK!!! Just received a call from a very happy and emotional owner. She wants to thank everyone and will stay on as a Helper and spread the word about DL. She said she would post a message later on but needs to catch up with lots of cuddles and kisses with her boy. Apparently, he jumped out from a field in front of a police car!!! Don't know whether the police had seen his poster but they delivered Barnaby back home to Dad (Mum was still out postering and searching - LOL). She got a call from hubby to say 'where are you, get yourself back home cos he's waiting for you!. She just cannot thank everyone enough for all their help and words of support. She said he was very thirsty and drank for England! Although both dogs are tagged, they will both be getting chips as welcome home Barnaby presents.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi All - just got back in from work. Had a call from Woodlands Kennels before I left home this morning. They all seem to own Rotties up there and were keen to keep their eyes and ears wide open. I've also had a lovely email back from The Bo Peep p/h. They have put Barnaby's poster up in the pub and she has also put one up by the bus stop (& asked to be informed WHEN Barnaby came home). Sarah, I will speak with you tonight - should be around early evening - look forward to hearing from you so that we can all join forces to get this handsome boy back home. Thanks Suszanne Simon, doglady, Baggy Dog and jaycee for all your help - it's very much appreciated!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

SueW, I'm not sure whether Battersea have been alerted but doglady may know the answer to this. But I do know that Bromley Council no longer employs an 'in-house' DW and, as far as I know, the service has been contracted out to a outside company (don't know the name). It operates between the hours of 8.30am to 15.30pm Mon to Fri and the tel. contact number I was given when we were searching for Samson, the Staffie was 01753 538 819. I finish work at 1pm tomorrow and will contact them, if the owner hasn't already done so.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Majorjet and Yasa for organising the mini-posters. I've just given Barnaby's owner another quick call. She thought she had registered, as she has spoken to HQ and sent a photo but I explained that she's needs to do it online. She will do this tomorrow. I said to call the tel. no at the bottom of the Home page, if she needs a hand. They have had offers of help from neighbours/friends and so I have encouraged her to take them up on their offers. Both doglady (thanks doglady!) and I have told her the importance of postering, how many are needed and where to stick them! She will also leave an item of clothing by the front gate.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have been phoning around local pubs and ended up speaking to a friend of the owners, who works in the Five Bells. I forgot to ask whether he is neutered but established that 'Barney' is very friendly and that he hasn't gone missing before today. I agree with claresusie that he is probably not too far away and is hopefully just enjoying a mini-adventure. The friend I spoke to at the pub has been putting up posters today (just some 'homemade, written posters). She doesn't have a printer and, would you believe it my one refuses to work at the mo! Bloody typical. I have tel & sent a poster to: The Bo Peep pub (handmade poster already in the Five Bells) and the Chelsfield Equestrian Centre. I have also tel & left details with: Foxgrove Rd vets, Beckenham (one of the nurses has horses & is involved in animal rescue - not in until after the weekend but a colleague has promised to contact him and tell him about Barnaby). Said I would in a poster, if my printer behaves itself. Also spoke to the Broomwood p/h in Sevenoaks Way. They own 3 Rotties themselves. If someone knows the pub and is nearby could they please in 3 big posters and some mini-posters which I have requested (just printed in B&W onto brightly coloured paper is okay) for them to leave on the bar or hand out to customers. The chap I spoke to didn't know the email address & so I willl try to speak to the owners tomorrow (I'm at work in the morning). Also tel & left message at FOAL Farm and Woodlands Kennels, Westerham Hill - will follow up with posters. Although only around 30 mins away, I really don't know Chelsfield and so would appreciate any local knowledge of local pubs, schools, stables, etc and/or help especially with emailing/faxing. Have just spoken to owner. Understandably, she is very upset at the moment. The story is that when she took her other dog to the vets this morning at 10am Barnaby obviously felt left out and managed to escape. They have been out all day looking for him & so haven't managed to poster. Have mentioned the importance of visitng all local pubs as hopefully he is still around and, if I know Rotties, he will latch on to someone or other. Majorjet/Yasa can you arrange the mini-flyers? I'm at work tomorrow morning but am around after that. I will also speak to Samson's mum to see what we can do to help the owner. Hope I'm not treading on anyone's toes (Chelsfield is only 30 mins from me) but, as many know, I cannot resist a Rottie!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
