Please do not give up hope on your lovely little dog,a dog where i live in Cornwall has been on the loose for 3 months (not that Ziggy will be). I just mean that they can survive.This other dog has been sighted quite  frequently.Ziggy and you are in my thoughts.good luck

Ziggy's page was duplicated, have updated information and deleted the duplicated page. Ziggy still remains missing, her owner is still looking for her.  Jan x

Shiela please be sure to alert the Police and Dog Warden first, then do go and stake out the flats by sitting in your car [or someone else's if you don't have one] to make sure this IS Ziggy. I know you have a small child, can someone else help - pref with a camera to be used discreetly? Keep a copy of the poster with you at all times!! If she has a limp she should be easy to identify. Then call the police and DW when you are pretty sure it's her, before accosting the people who have her. With luck one of them will come out and give you some back-up. I so hope this is Ziggy and that you can get this old girl home at last. After all the new 'owners' prob won't want to know when the vets bill start, as they do for most old dogs

Yes I agree-sit outside-maybe in your car for a bit of comfort and so you are less evident but it all fits with the picture of what has been going on here. Maybe you can split shifts with any other family members who know her well. I don't think I would poster the flats yet in case the people are intent on trying to keep her.

I would do exactly that! Sit outside even it takes you a day it will either get her back to you or you will see its not her. To be honest if its her then i'm sure they will have to let her regularly as shes an oldie! Go for it I say! Got my fingers crossed for you! x

someone has told me that they've seen a dog that looks like Ziggy about 150 yards from my house. she's in some flats. i couldn't post posters there because it's always locked and you have to buzz someone to get in. i haven't seen her myself but she is well known round here and it could be her. they said she looked like she'd been shaved. i don't know what to do except try and get into the flats and posters. i need to see her myself to be sure and i'm scared that i could be wrong and be charged with false accusations or something. i'm so confused and feel like squatting outside until whoever it is takes this dog for another walk.

Stacey we will not stop looking for Ziggy. Don't worry about that. She could still be out there somewhere. Everyone on Doglost knows how much you are missing Ziggy as nearly all of us have been in the same position, having lost a pet at some time. Keep up her profile, keep going with postering and asking Dog Wardens, Police and rescue kennels. Hopefully you will find her soon. Best wishes and good luck. x

im stacey rowan as you read in another report, im the young girl aged 10 when we got ziggy. i am now a 25 year old woman who is missing ziggy so much even my own daughter who is almost 3 is missing her as much as myself. please do not stop looking out for ziggy. i am 100% she is out there somewhere missing us as well. please let me know asap where ever the sighting. thanks

I check Ziggy's page every day. I just find it really hard to believe she has disappeared into thin air. It's not as if she can run for miles or even wander far,and there have been no reports of her being in a RTA, so where could she be but with someone? Sheila, can you think of ANYONE at all who could have her, or have you any news on wee ZIGG, no matter how small?

the picture in the advertiser oldham is the exact lookalike of Ziggy's face except that her face is a lot greyer. the picture previous to that on the posters is Ziggy in full. Ziggy is a mongrel and part cairn. I thought that if people could get a good idea of Ziggy's face they may recognise her easier if they see her. Thanks everybody Sheila

Our paper came through the door last night and it is in there but it says that Ziggy is a Cairn Terrier and there is a picture there which doesn't look like the one we have on the poster. The one we have doesn't lok like a Cairn, the one in the paper does. JeannieC

Two weeks seem like a lifetime when you have lost your beloved pet, I know this, but in reality it is not a very long time. Just hang in there, keep postering, phoning every place you can to remind them she is still missing - dog wardens, vets, kennels etc. She must be somewhere not too far away. xx

My thoughts are that someone must have taken her in, as a little old lady like this could not have travelled far. She is of no value to a thief, and if all local rescues and dog wardens have been checked regularly, where else could she be except in someone's home? Hurry up and turn up Ziggy. Get your local paper to do an article, nothing tugs at the heart strings like a golden oldie gone missing. Also try local radio, one of the programmes usually has a missing pets section. Fingers crossed she is soon found, I was in Lancashire on Sunday night and it was bl***dy cold!

Sorry been out of action. On duty tonight. Will check records of all strays brought in from 12th February 2008 and report back in the morning. If picked up by Police, Dog Warden or PetMedics in the OL area she would have been transfered to Manchester Dogs Home. Owner needs to visit in person, do not rely on telephone enquiries.

all gardens, fields, streets have been checked and no sign, her hearing is not that great so she wouldn't respond to anyone shouting her. posted pictures through doors phoned all dog homes up, and nothing. just hope wherever she is she is safe.

Gosh, wish I'd seen this earlier! I'm just back from Tandle Hills with my dogs and I could've put up notices and asked around all the people there. If I can get up there tomorrow I will post notices, unless it WAS Ziggy going into Tesco at Rochdale. But to have got there she MUST have been taken by someone. It would be easier to wander to Ashton than Rochdale. I take it you have tried the vets locally? I can get a poster to my vets (Manchester Road) in the morning if necessary. Poor old lady, she needs to be home. It was so very cold here overnight. JeannieC

I've spoken to the Tesco's in Rochdale, in case owner was unable to, they kindly found the info out and rang back, the dog that was sighted last night was reclaimed by its owner. Thanks to Tesco's for taking the time to follow this up. Jan x

EMAIL FRM OWNER: site looks great. had a phone call to say Ziggy had been seen going inside tesco rochdale at 5pm last night. will ring tesco to confirm. keep putting details into log in at site but won't let me in. could you tell the helpers that she may have been seen in rochdale. i've put no posters or anything up there as i'd never have believed she could get that far unless someone had taken her.

Oh, poor wee Ziggy. She needs to be home at her age. Owner please check all the rescues above, every day. Sometimes, they don't have time to let you know if she has been taken in or picked up. Don't worry about pestering them. You have to get Ziggy home.

owner might be a good idea to get small posters and put them in to your neighbours doors as she may have wondered into their gardens or a she or garage or just gone to sleep under a bush. get lots of posters up and hopefully she will be found not to far away.
