Chelsea's mum - you just never know. Anything "is" possible! So hoping she will get back home to you. x

Thank you - have taken a look and dog is not dark enought over the nose but I know they do change with age so hopefully who every has her now will one day have to go to the vets and the micro chip will be found. Thank you again everyone for not forgetting about her. xLast edited: 2011-04-11 14:28:07 by Chelseas Mum

So sad that Chelsea still hasn't made her way home to you yet, I think about her alot as she was the first missing dog I seen when I first registered on this website. Its a long shot but I came across someone selling a gsd locally to me that looks similar to Chelsea, maybe worth a look.

Wish I could get her home for you. You are so deserving of her! Bless you and Chelsea. You just never know when the call may come. As she is microchipped, she stands a good chance.x

Hello, I've just remembered - Lucy - Oscar's owner who lives in Threshers Bush, saw a GSD in that area when she started searching for Oscar in Jan/Feb this year. I think it was in the Lavers? Chelseas Mum, did you see that? Go to Oscar's pages - you may have already seen this, but just in case. xLast edited: 2011-03-03 22:21:22 by Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders

There is a Facebook group called 4pawsGSD All missing and found dogs  and on it, there is a female GSD found in Cheshunt, Herts on the 20th Feb which looks similar to your girl. Difficult to tell from the photos, but may be worth a look. Sorry, I can't work out if its possible to post the picture here. There is a phone number to call 01992 642240.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you all for still continuing to look for Chelsea - we never give up.  The dog on alfieslostdogs does look similar and someone kindly emailed me when it first was found, but is too young.  Also Chelsea is microchipped and would hope they would ring me as soon as.  I do know however that chips are not reliable.  Please all keep looking and lets hope one day we can have the party to end all party's. x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hiya, Unfortunately the Knebworth stray is definately NOT Chelsea. I got a very good look at it last night, being just 10 feet away. I will have a trawl through this site & see if it resembles any of the other dogs.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh no, what a shame someone let her out of the tennis courts. At least you have got to have a good look at her now, and importantly got the interest from the right people who can hopefully get this girl to safety. Think it may well be that a trap is needed, she sounds like she is going to be too nervous to catch otherwise and will probably just bolt and whilst she is staying in the same area, best to take advantage of that! Hopefully the dog warden will agree that this is the best approach. If you are in contact with them and they don't have a trap, let us know. x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry not been on before with update - lots have happened in past week.  The GSD mentioned below near Knebworth is probably the one we have been told about.  We had many sightings and calls and then last Sunday we received a call from a lady who said the dog was in the park now and that is seemed very quiet and she was sitting near it and had taken it water.  We went over and the dog was still there - very like Chelsea but not sure is her as the head too small.  Anyway we spend quite a while there and managed to get near to feed but after a while it run off again into the corn fields.  We then had no choice but to go home.  Then late that night I had a call from someone previously spoken to and he had managed to get dog into tennis courts and lock in - as the groundsman had agreed.  We went straight over.  We could get nobody official to come out and try and catch the dog so we tried.  Eventually after a long time we managed to trap it into a corner (never realised how large a tennis court was!) but still could not catch.  I Managed to sit and feed the dog but the minute you made an attempt to touch it/go for its collar it would snap - its not a nasty dog just scared - its been out a long time - can tell by smell and coat etc.  More phone calls and were advised by local kennels that couldnt come out but to leave in courts and get dog warden 1st thing.  This we did but someone had let dog out.  The wardens are now interested and taking steps to try and locate this dog.  Over the week I have had a few calls which is great as we were afraid we may have scared the dog off.  Then last night I had the police ring and they were trying to catch dog in the fields - I mentioned about it being nervous when cornered and they were going to get there control to get on to the warden.  They agreed the dog been out too long and needed to be caught.  Even if this isnt Chelsea at least our interest in it has made the Police /Wardens become pro active and that can only be good for this poor dog.  Will post more as I hear.  x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for that - we are aware of scenting etc.  Just quick update - it had been very quiet on sightings this week and you just begin to wonder has she moved on !  But have had someone ring tonight who has seen her late this evening in the park.  He was very sensible and did not approach her as she started to run when she saw him.  He crouched down and called her name and she stopped.  He a genuine dog lover and another one on board to try and help this dog get caught but not frightened.  Positive that she still around.  Has been in the area for several months now so hopefully will now stay.  x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi , just been having a look around the site and read your story , just a thought but have you got some old clothes with your scent on ( wear an old tee shirt for a day etc )  and then leave untouched in a plastic bag with the park man to see if the dog shows any response to it ? hope this idea helps you , and i pray you get your girl back very soon .Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still not seen this dog for ourselves, but still getting calls from local dog walkers.  Especially one man who rung today and has seen the dog in the area for several months not just 5 - 6 weeks.  He is being very helpful and had long conversation and he will liase with the groundsman re the feeding etc.  He really cares that this dog is caught for its own good.  He has seen it on many occasions.  He is going to try and get a photo so we can establish whether it is Chelsea or not. Will report more as it happens. x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just to keep you all updated.  Had several more calls from people who have seen this GSD - they all seemed convinced is dog in poster i.e. Chelsea.  The last sighting was late yesterday, she was seen drinking from the pond in the park but run off when the lady got too near.  She ran out the back of the park into the fields.  The encouraging thing is all the calls are showing that she is staying within an area.  We went over tonight about same time but no luck.  Really think the best hope we have is Andy the groundsman who is building up her confidence.  Another man rung as well to say she had taken food off him but he couldnt quite get hold of her collar.  Told him how to approach etc and build up her confidence.  At least encouraging for the dog who ever she is that people are keeping her in the area by feeding etc.  Will update again soon. x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Quick update.  The dog was seen again this morning in park but unfortuantely gone before I could get there to see if could sneek a look.  Made contact with the groundsman who is super.  He has been feeding the dog over last 5 weeks or so and appears to be gaining its trust.  He has been great and says if I get any phone calls call him and he will be straight on to it.  He is going to try and lure the dog into the tennis courts and then keep it there so I can see if it is Chelsea and if not then we can call the dog warden and get it properly looked after.  So who ever this dog is it should be a good outcome for it.  Fingers x.  We just hope too many people dont try and catch her now but it seems a very small well meaning set of people who the groundsman knows and has told them all to report to me or him if sees her but not to try and catch.  Will keep you all updated.  Fingers x 'ed. x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had phone call earlier today re possibly sighting !  A lady rung me to say that a GSD (they think it is female) has been seen for at least the last 5 weeks living rough around the Knebworth Recreation Park, Watton Road, SG3 6AH.  The collar the dog is wearing is like the one Chelsea had on.  It has been seen by several people and they reported it to the Dog Warden who said they dont catch dogs but if they can get it he will take it.  They have since been trying to get it but without success.  It was seen on Monday when very hot sun bathing in grass and has been seen several times drinking from pond.  The Groundman for the park has seen it at all different times  and now him and several dog walkers are leaving food for it.  The Groundman has my number and will call when he next sees.  I have been over there tonight and put some posters out.  Will update you all as I hear more.   X x x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Helen57 doesnt sound like her.  Usually year old GSD still very immature and puppy like whereas Chelsea be 3 now and obviously more mature.  Except she always had puppy outlook ! Plus having been out for so long could look leaner - who knows !  Also they may be ageing by teeth ? Anyway if you do go in and take photos let me know.  Thanks again. x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Chelsea's mum, I have spoken with the kennels in the last few days, they have said that the gsd found is approx one year old so very unlikely to be her, although they have said that I am more than welcome to go and see her and take some photo's. I dont have much experience of kennels and dont know if there is a likelyhood that the have got the age wrong, I am going to try to get over there on either friday afternoon or saturday morning. I also wasnt sure on the facial colourings, but a owner knows their dog best, if they arnt able to take a side on photo and they will allow me to go and see the dog i will take some photo's and email them to you, as the found dog isnt far from me, without making your search harder and obviously im aware you dont rule out any dog, but my girl was nearly identical in colouring to your chelsea and her colouring on her body has almost completely faded and she has hardly any of the black left on her at all now, except on her face. Just a thought but for those helpers who browse rescue websites, might be worth looking at 'successes' or 'rehomed' rather than 'dogs  looking for homes', and go back to closer to the time she went missing, its a long shot but def worth it.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Chelsea has been missing 1 year today. Beautiful Chelsea is still sadly not home, despite it now being the first anniversary of her disappearance. I for one, as I am sure is the case for many other helpers, have not once forgotten Chelsea and continue to search for her. As soon as I see a found GSD, the next thought is 'could it be Chelsea'? Chelsea's mum, you know we are all routing for your and your family and just waiting for that day that Chelsea comes home. Hi thanks everyone.  Sorry not been online but not been near the computer for a bit but have been following leads.  Cant get anything re GSD near Jun 7 - and this is very near were we live and in fact we only have a field between us and the M11.  I am only guessing but this could also be the dog that I picked up at North Weald Market months ago and that had also been out twice before as it is VERY near this junction !  I have rung Colchester and emailed them today and waiting for reply !  The dog has not been taken to there kennels as have checked there.  Will keep you all informed.  Thanks again for all continuing the search. x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry i haven't posted for ages.....i've not quite worked out the site properly and couldn't work out where Chelsea's page had gone! I have just read on the BIGGSD website that there were reports on Radio 2 news yesterday afternoon of a GSD running on the M11 Northbound near Junction 7......not sure where this is in relation to where Chelsea is missing from but thought i'd mentions it anyway.  No other details unfortunately but may be worth investigating. I am so sorry that she is still missing - it would have been good to see her back home where she belongs.  I still have everything crossed for her safe return.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Followed up lead from Angus and unfortunately not Chelsea.  They were very helpful and have added her to their list but as we know as she is microchipped if she gets picked up hopefully she will get scanned and find her way back to us.  Just all keep looking and I will follow any lead however slim - you just never know.  One day she will be home I am convinced. x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Angus have looked at link.  Dont think is her but is very similar and being a young dog and out she could have changed etc.  Have printed of link picture and will contact kennels in morning.  Thank you so much all of you who are still looking - we never stop.  Re the posters - we are lucky that the majority are still up and people are always asking have we found her yet so at least she is still in peoples minds.  Lets hope one day soon we have a very happy posting on this site.  Sorry not been on more.  x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Chelseas Mum, just wondered if you thought it might be worth another poster campaign?   Unfortunately I'm much too far away to help, and could be that your posters are still up around, but might it be a good idea to remind people locally that Chelsea is still missing?   There seem to be so many dogs being stolen now, or it could be that someone has taken Chelsea in and kept her, and postering again might just flush something out.   Just a thought.   She's such a lovely girl, please be safe Chelsea xx

Chelsea is such a beautiful girl, it must be so hard not knowing where she is.   I have watched her story from the beginning and was so hoping she would have been found by the time the site was up and running again.   Good that she is chipped and one day that will surely bring her home..keep safe Chelsea in the meantime xx

Hi  all.  Just to let you all know Chelsea is still missing but we are not giving up.  The latest possible sighting was again around the Meridian Park area weekend before last.  I received a call from the Postman who had seen a GSD chasing the ducks in the brook - he tried to get it but it ran off very fast.  I was working and couldnt get down there but Staffy girl was brill and went and walked.  There was no sign but someone else had seen the GSD and got quite close.  We are not sure this is Chelsea or if it is a dog that comes from the Enfield Island houses.  I contacted the warden for that area who fab and will keep me informed of any new and also the Rangers again for the L V park.  The posters are still up.  Not much more can do at mo just want someone to try and get picture of dog if it shows itself again on their phone so can see if Chelsea or not.  Lets hope we can sort this one out either way in the near future.  All keep looking.  Also think I will try and contact lots of vets again and just ask them to scan any GSD that comes in - on view that someone not realised she missing and been king and taken her in.  Anyway will keep in touch. x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Claire. So great to have all of you people local to the LV area looking for her - really helps as its a little way for us so cant go as much as would like and dont know the area !! Anyone who is near any waterway - canals etc or any woody area that could feed of the LV area can you just spare a little time to put up a couple of posters. We have no clue which way she has gone if moved on from the Meridian area so need another call. Thanks again all of you. Here's waiting for that next call. x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A GSD has this morning been found in Harlow - will be added to our found pages shortly. Unfortunatly it is NOT Chelsea. The finders called Caroline and she went to see the dog and then took it over to the man in Harlow who takes the out of hours strays, so she is 100% sure that its not Chelsea. Hi again. Had good advice that dogs on run will follow canal / river and as water ditch at Merdian runs to the canal that then runs right thru L V sounds worth following up. So anyone who lives or walks near the canals in this area or beyond (that link to LV) could you please spread the word and put up a few posters on canal path. Will get a map and try work out what areas to target next. Thanks all of you - great team. x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi all. Not a lot more I can say. Jotty has explained it all very well. From the previous sightings at Merdian all the necessary Rangers for the Park and Epping Forest had already been informed. What I shall do is have a good look at the area on a map and see what surrounding rural area she could have travelled to and try and poster there. Lets hope for more news soon. Have to thank the lady for ringing she was really lovely. x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Caroline had a call earlier from the lady who herself put up the 'Beware' posters in Lee Valley Park (nr Meridian Way) when the loose GSD was spotted in the area a while back (as Caroline has mentioned previously in this thread). The lady also saw this loose GSD and said it was seen around the 7th, 8th and 9th April (school hol time which is why she put the beware posters up), looked young, thin and very hungry (it was taking ducks off the pond). The lady has now seen one of Chelsea's posters and thinks it looked very very much like Chelsea! She herself is convinced it was her. The lovely lady is going to knock on some houses in the area and pass on Carolines number incase the dog is seen again. Caroline will be along to post later and no doubt will continue with the postering in the Lee Valley area too. Anyone local.....please continue to poster where you can around Lee Valley as we need some more sightings to establish if she is still in the area as obviously nearly a month has passed since the lady saw her. Come on Chelsea!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes please put the posters up where ever taken down and anywhere not any. Been in touch with radio and they wont put lost dogs on radio - tried for the travellers show saying thought they had found her and needed to contact them to collect the reward. I kept in contact with radio and they have agreed to pass all details to their help line and information centre. Anything is of help. I am sure Chelsea not been in the Fern Hill camp but thank you for reassurance. As each day goes we must be one day nearer finding her. Must all keep positive - but not always easy ! Been busy day. Had call yesterday saying thought seen Chelsea on small Travellers camp in Cheshunt. Not one of offical ones we know of. Caller described camp as being down lane off Cheshunt High Street near place selling concrete blocks etc and opposite a large garden centre. We took drive and think he meant Homebase and Wedge Roofing - which is at very end of High Street. Despite numerous searchs we cant find camp or where one could be. Local council have no leads either. Anyone local any ideas ? Today another man called to say loose GSD been seen on Meridian Estate. Went down there and this definately true. Several people said there had posters put up to warn people that there was a GSD on the loose. I spoke to a park ranger and she confirmed that over the Easter weekend (unfortunately she was on holiday) been numerous reports of a GSD chasing birds in ditchs/rough grass between park fence and houses. Rangers alerted but nothing seen since. Very feasible as these places next to each other and joined by Lee Valley park and a canal. Either been picked up and taken to camp or is moving between the areas. As said dont know area so any local help would be much appreciated. Hope this all makes sense as brain frazzled ! Any questions please ask. Thanks all of you. x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

UPDATE: Caroline has been to the Meridian Estate area and postered. Whilst there met some dog walkers who told her about some notices that had been put up in the area warning people of a loose GSD. Caroline tracked down a Ranger and he/she said they'd had several complaints of the loose dog over Easter between the houses and the park but nothing since. Does anyone local know if this dog was caught? Yesterdays sighting at Cheshunt mentioned a small traveller camp but when Caroline went to the area described no sign. Does anyone know of a small camp in CHESHUNT WALTHAM ABBEY OR WALTHAM CROSS area? Caroline is contacting all the various councils covering the area to try and find out. Hi everyone sorry no news. I've just got back from being away for a couple of days but had no call or anything. Have been doing lots of thinking and think Chelsea may have either just gone deep to ground in woods whilst kids on holiday or moved on further which could either take her back to North Weald or strangly the John Barleycorn area (see Poppy) ! Is possible deep in woods as they are so vast and dense in places and I have walked in there and not seen the deer till within just a few feet ! Lets hope we get a sighting very soon to give us something new to go on. Thanks everyone for continuing help and support. All we can do is keep the postering going and keep the profile of both Chelsea and Poppy up. Thanks again x x Lets hope for news soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

My partner, a black cab driver is putting up flyers of Chelsea and Poppy in the back of his cab this evening and will keep a look out when driving around. He is also telling the other drivers to keep a look out too. As he covers a wide area all round Essex and has many passengers from all over the area I hope this may get the message to as many people as possible. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Capote. Yes anywhere you can put posters and take flyers the better. Did have poster at Pets at home but obviously they cant keep up forever, so if can put another up - great. Also the vets at the end will take them and keep a record. Great you also walk Latton woods because feel with kids being on holiday and having made a very big and noisy camp she has moved from where seen to somewhere else she feels is safer. Where this is we dont know until a sighting. Thanks again all of you. x x Come on Chelsea and Poppy.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have started looking for Chelsea as I walk over Harlow Common every day and in Latton Wood. Put poster up for you (and Poppy) at Moot House during Dog training yesterday in case any dog owners/walkers going there might see her. Will try and Poster around area. Do you want me to take flyers with me I also walk over Pishbury Park and down the river. I could put poster on the notice board there lots of dog walkers go through there. I have asked Pets@home if they would put a poster up for both dogs they are speaking to the manager and getting back to me. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry everyone Jo is correct this is not a recent sighting, just me trying to explain where Nicholls Field Playing fields are. Wish it had been another ! Been Foxdells (ARC) Bishops Stortford today as someone said saw GSD in there found in Harlow. Not quite correct it was a male found in Dunmow. Never mind worth a look and left posters for Chelsea and Poppy with them. Keep looking everyone. Lets get these 2 home soon. x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Unfortunately I don't think this is another recent sighting that Caroline is referring to in her last post. I think that in her description to Melli of where Nicholls field was she meant it was were Chelsea was sighted previously (couple of weeks ago).....if that makes sense?! I am sure Caroline will clarify!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Melli - Chelsea seen on Nicholls field playing fields which are the football pitches etc on your left when you turn towards the town from the Clock Tower Roundabout. Unfortunately the kids have made a camp right near where Chelsea was seen in the woods and are making lots and lots of noise crashing and banging ! So dont think she will venture to there until perhaps back at school next week. Have only put food down at bait further in the woods and see what happens. The prints look too small for her but there were some very large ones further into the woods. Will keep you all posted. So sad now double search for Poppy and Chelsea. Lets hope we can have a double party very soon. x x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks everyone. We are making sure all posters still out. Friends have renewed on Hastingwood road which is between North Weald and the woods. Lets hope shows herself again soon. Seemed strange the mans dog was out same time but the lady who saw dog by gates said definate a GSD and looked bedragled. His dog definate would not have been dry by time I saw it if it had been same dog. So think this was just a strange coincidence - who knows perhaps she had been drawn by his loose dog and then ran off when they came calling it ? Caroline has just called me regarding a possible sighting this morning. She received a call from a lady who saw a German Shepherd who looked rather bedragled and confused sitting near the road by North Weald Golf Club (route between A414 and NW Market). It is feasible she could have travelled from the woods of previous sighting to here across country. There is however a man who has GSDxHusky's who lives next door to the golf club. One of these was out this morning BUT it was home before the possible sighting (which was at 8.20am). The man was very helpful and let Caroline see his dog which had been out and it was quite small and very fluffy, clean - certainly NOT bedraggled so we feel the sighting could well be Chelsea rather than the mans dog. The lady who saw the dog (after she had driven back to find a poster to call Caroline!) went back to area of sighting and had a look around but nothing, the dog had gone. Caroline has spoken to the golf club again, explained the situation and they have promised to keep an eye out and call if the dog is spotted again. As Chelsea has been out a while now she may well not give herself up willingly so any sightings need to be treated with the softly softly approach that all you great helpers will be familiar with - don't approach, no eye contact, soft quiet voice etc. Come on Chelsea!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Update. Think one food bait may be taken by dog walkers as when checking last night saw dog didnt know off lead and coming to near bait - owners called it back - so ? But other one is going consistently so we are going to try and get better foot prints so know what going in there. It is in very enclosed camp as said before. Going to also put an old dog basket in there with one of her old blankets - nothing to lose ! Will keep you posted. x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

caroline613 I know I keep saying it but it is going to be a lot lighter now and you will get more sightings because if she is coming out about the same time she may still do this for a while because the foxes get confused when the clocks change you see them more in the evening. If she is in that area she will show I'm sure and she may well be getting the food. COME ON CHELSEA BUSTERS HOME NOW LETS HAVE YOU. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The woods where Chelsea last seen are not too far from home - where she went missing from. Especially if you map the sightings in Church Langley woods at the beginning - these woods are just across a common and you are there. Nicholls field is out of the woods down a very quiet cycle track or through other woods and a common. The woods are very dense and as in over a week now only ever seen 2 other people in there. Even when saw dog with one in distance it would have been easy to miss if we hadnt been looking hard. Food baits have been taken over last 2 nights but due to work havent been able to check every am as well. Now need to make sure it is dog eating them and try and work out times being eaten. Will keep you informed. Lets hope shows herself to someone else again soon. x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How close is the woods where Chelsea may be hiding from the place she originally ran off from? Again, I'm sure others have said this to you, but dogs often do go back to where they last saw you... so are you checking there still as well as the new woods? I couldn't believe Moose would actually make it back to where he had bolted from me as having been in the road accident I thought he would be too badly hurt to make it back... but he did - he turned up only about 100-150m from where he bolted... so Chelsea might as well...? Keep positive - we are all thinking of you both! xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As you have said Caroline, the woods where we believe the dog may be is a large area and if its not that well used it is quite possible for the dog not to be spotted for days. When you go looking tomorrow, try and speak to the bin men. I think before you/someone said you'd already notified them but jog their memories again and explain to them the area you think Chelsea may now be in so hopefully they?ll be on the lookout. If Chelsea is trying to raid bin bags they may spot her in the distance and of course being higher up in a lorry they can see a bit further afield. Have you put leaflets through the doors of houses near Nicholls Field and the houses near the woods too? Best to use the flyers (from the Info Centre) for leafleting if you haven?t done so already. You are doing an absolutely fab job, as are the helpers.......come on Chelsea, give yourself up now!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Computer been on blink ! But finally back online. Been no more sightings but will look at Nicholls field tonight and tommorrow as bin day (Easter could change day). Walking in Woods last night saw something in distant in thick trees, thought it could have been dog but too far away to see. At first it looked like the Airdale (dont know how to spell it!) I met on Monday but this had nothing with it. Walked area for ages but nothing. Food not been touched, for couple of days but at least not fox. Very peaty in front of baits so make level so can see footprints. People do walk dogs in woods etc so hard to tell if big prints we find are her's. Over the last week walked twice a day and only every met 2 people so on positive she could still be there and not been seen - think thats a positive !! Will keep updating. Please all keep looking. x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

caroline613 it might be an idea to put some sand down around that area for foot prints because if a bagger you will be able to see the different s, keep up the good work and also it is getting lighter now so more people will be out she has got her feeding areas to go to so she may be going between the two. Thanks moose mum will try garlic sausage - good idea. Have put out food baits and only one been continously touched but not sure a badger. It is inside a den some kids made in the fallen roots of a tree. We came across it by accident but over the past 2 days food has gone from there but no where else. Today blocked up the whole from some animal's home (not sure still in use) and put food on scented towel. Will see what tommorrow brings. Have walked through woods both where seen and the rest with terrier and just talking as agree this could be best ploy. Unfortunately nobody seen her now since thurs am but she could have a very wide area. Also keep on with Nicholls field and will go there both Weds and Thurs eve as 2 / 3 times seen there always been bin day ! Of course this week with easter this could be day late. Also have seen deer again today but no Chelsea, do think perhaps we should also check woods on Latton Common (and will try to tommorrow) as she could have chased deer into there. Thanks all of you all we can do is keep looking and hope she shows herself again soon !!! x x PS as luck would have it we met the man who lives in cottage at edge of sight area and we know him ! I'm sure you have probably done this... but have you tried being in the woods where she was sighted and simply 'talking' to someone... ie not calling her or anything, just talking in a 'normal' voice... make sure you have also put down some really scented food (garlic sausage?) - the morning Moose reappeared, I had been standing in the area he was in, telling people about his accident & how he was missing etc... and later he just 'appeared' to BonBon... My thoughts & prayers are with you & Chelsea x Suzy x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Update. No sign of dog today. Did see some deer this morning that she had previously been playing with - at least 2 herds in woods so plenty of pals to play with! Have left scented food - not taken tonight but wasnt sure it would be as up near where she was seen playing which is on edge of her area - I should think. Be interesting to see if gone tommorrow. Put it her to start with as we know the dog was definately there twice and is a place we can watch from car later on if we need to. People who own the property are being very helpful. Showed lady who keeps horses there a colour picture of Chelsea today and she said fairly sure it was her she saw. She has her own GSD so very aware of what they look like and coat colours etc. All we can do is be patient and not rush in. Would just like to see dog for myself to know for definate it is her and then can take as long as it takes. Am still checking Nicholls field at night and surrounding areas - we must keep open mind and keep looking. Will keep you all updated. Thanks again x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks melli. These latest sightings definitely sound more positive and could quite possibly be Chelsea but we've still got to be patient and take things slow as she may not be so willing to give herself up! When I spoke to Caroline earlier, she had investigated the wooded area - some promising signs such as loose 'fluffy' hair (not really like deer or fox hair), large paw prints, feathers etc. She has left food and scented clothing and done some scenting. The lady with the horses who saw the dog with the deer is being really helpful so we are hoping Caroline will be able to get a look of the dog - even from afar - and establish if its Chelsea. Caroline will update further I am sure, but she is going to continue visiting the area, renewing food and scent etc. Lets hope the dog shows itself again very soon......until then everyone keep their fingers tightly crossed! Just popped home to give you all latest. A lady doing her horses (I know her from ages ago) saw a GSD yesterday morning chasing the deer in the woods near her fields. She thought it must be with someone so shouted out 'get that dog on a lead' after a while dog still around but nobody appeared. This morning she went to do horses again and two minutes after she arrived dog appeared again. This time she began to wonder as very strange for dog to be where it was. It was more playing with deer than trying to harm them. She wasnt too near but from the various things she said we think it may well be Chelsea - its the right area (if thats possible to say). She had to go home to ring me and when she went back and a friend of mine went too the dog had gone. The deer were still there. She is going back tonight and will call her and if anything let me know. We are going to try and get up there before dark and definately going in am at time dog been seen. Both lady and us just hope she appears same time tommorrow. Also going back to Nicholls Field tonight about 10 - 10.30 again time dog seen there. Strange thing is this lady lives near there and will also go for look round. If anyone local wants to know exact area just text me and I will call you. Lets hope. X xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Melli - do you think the dog you saw with the young lad looked like Chelsea at all - or are you saying it was too long haired etc to be her? If its the same person and dog that Mr Sainsbury saw, not only were they out at a strange time but possibly had been out wandering for a while.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Update. Had phone call from Mr Sainsbury at 3am this morning to say saw 2 kids walking a GSD on a chain from Latton Bush towards Bush Fair. Wasnt saying Chelsea but thought worth a look as real strange time for 2 youngsters to be walking a dog. Went out straight away but could see nobody. Drove all around surrounding areas for over an hour but nothing. Will try and speak to him later to see if he could give more description of dog. Would have thought if Chelsea someone local would have noticed as everyone I speak to has seen free paper. Its the one paper in Harlow everyone gets and tends to read. Thanks Sukimax will check out. Thanks for the update and email Caroline, and well done both you and staffy girl for investigating the dog Mr Sainsbury saw. Its a shame that there is the possibility that this sighting was now not Chelsea given that you have had no other sightings or calls.....so frustrating when you and helpers are working so so hard. Today I was speaking to the man who is contracted to collect strays from Harlow out of hours from April (although picking a few up already) and he was very helpful and will most certainly be keeping an eye out for Chelsea. Also spoke to the kennels he takes the dogs to and am pleased to say I got the same reaction there, so thats good news - I've sent a poster of Chelsea to both of them. Local helpers, please continue to do what you have been doing so fantastically well for Caroline and Chelsea, poster poster poster. If there are any helpers further afield and you can put a couple of posters up in frequently visited areas/parks etc near you then that would also be of great help as until we get a sighting or some news its difficult to know exactly what area Chelsea is in. Someone must have seen Chelsea or have taken her in.....she's out there somewhere.....and we most certainly will not give up until we find her! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Update. Staffy girl done brillant job walking area of sighting. Came across GSD in house nearby and I went to meet up with her. The dog not Chelsea but I think it could have been the one Mr Sainsbury saw. People were in the house but would not answer the door so that I could establish whether this dog had been walkabout on Thurs. According to neighbour they not most desirable type and have several dogs that they dont really seem to care where they are etc. Having said that this dog would not leave the property when we saw it even though gates open. Cant rule it out but unfortunately now think sighting wasnt Chelsea. All contacts that area keep open mind and keep looking but also think need to redirect back this way towards North Weald and rural areas. Have also taken posters to Toddbrook Vets (had rung them but not postered) and revisited Kews. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No more sightings over weekend. Problem is if only running at night that area is so wooded in places and little private lanes very difficult ! But like everyone local are constantly driving / walking round area. Tried to put posters up yesterday but weather didnt help. Did get them into some private horse yards, farm shop and Plants Galore the big Nursery at Roydon. Mr Sainsbury at work again tonight so lets hope he sees something. x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thought had done all vets in Harlow ? Seems be bit problems getting them displayed ? See postings re Kews. What Vets do you work for - will make sure posters are taken in there. Thanks for letting me know. Also looking at maps. Can anyone who works in Pinnacles in Harlow spread the word re Chelsea as the rough area's round there not a million miles from Nazeing / Roydon. Just trying to cover all possibilities. Lets hope she shows hereself again in Nazeing. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Caroline, I spoke to Nicky from yard, she lives in Roydon. She will keep look out and let others near her know that Chelsea could be in the area. She drives from Roydon past Ada Cole to Epping so will keep an eye out. She has a chap do gardening for her so she will also let him know. He lives Harlow Common and works all over the place so covers a wide area. I have a friend who works for a guy who lives in Nazeing who also has GSDs. I will ask him to them know too.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks all. Mr Sainsbury called me again today to say had just seen poster near where he lives (not seen picture before) and he is sure that Chelsea is the dog he saw. But he didnt want to get my hopes up and suggested that I checked the area just to make sure noone has a similar dog that goes out free at night. Have started this investigation but only dog know to live near sighting area was a yellow lab pub that recently been rehomed. Friend keeps horses in Back lane and owners yard have GSD's and know lots of people in area so she going to ask them. Also crowd at Harolds Park Farm all on look out. The more people on look out in this area the better. Mr Sainsbury going that way same time from Monday on a 6 day shift so will call if he sees her again. Lets hope it is her and also not just consistantly on the move ! Will keep you informed. x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Re- the vets Sheba, I have had this experience with quite a few I'm afraid. They say they cannot possibly display all of the ones they get, well thats the excuse anyway. Most of them seem to have them in folders, which is not a lot of use in my opinion. The staff may refer to it if the get a stray in, but cannot seem to get it across that they have scores of clients every day that could be viewing the posters whilst they are sitting waiting for their turn. Hundreds of opportunities lost ! Shame. However, we do have the few exceptionally good ones who dedicate a corner to lost and stolen dogs. Thank you to them xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Mr Sainsbury's man for being so helpful and spreading the word! Caroline is contacting the pub as well so hopefully they'll be as helpful and keep a look out as the dog seen could be going there to the bins etc. Word is spreading of Chelsea and lots of posters are going up around the area so if this dog has found shelter in a barn/stable or even a sheltered spot near someone's house hopefully Caroline will get a call. Everyone is doing a great job, really hoping so much that we get a good result soon. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Quick update. For those of you local - dog was left side road coming from Harlow next to house for sale and went across road towards the Harolds Head Pub in the direction of Harlow. He said he got good look and dog did have collar on (but couldnt tell me colour) with something dangling - poss tag ? - he said. Chelsea hasnt got tag but collar has got large metal ring etc on it which would show in headlights. He also said dog definately been running. This is best lead so far so going with it - in fact only lead !! He also got all Sainsbury drivers from Harlow keeping look out. Think we also need to make known in Roydon - so if anyone any contacts please. Dont want to get too excited but lets hope this is her or if not we find out who it is quickly. Thanks all again. Will keep you posted. x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have had one phone call from article in the Harlow Star. Man who goes to work early hours of morning saw a young, light coloured GSD go across the road in front of him near the King Harolds Head pub in Nazeing about 3.20am this morning. He thought it strange at the time and looked but could see noone around. When saw article in paper felt had to ring as could be nothing but could be ? He is going to work same time tonight so will keep a good look out and stop and call me if sees anything. Sure genuine man as gave name and number and seemed to care. Anyone in the Nazeing area please keep an extra good look for any signs of a stray dog around. I know lots of you are already. Thanks to everyone. Lets hope home soon - the most famous dog in Harlow !! x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had to take one of my dogs to Kew vets in Harlow today. I asked if they knew about Chelsea but they couldn't find their 'lost & found' book!! I'm going back on Friday so will take a poster. Annoyingly just realised I'm working all next Saturday & Sunday so can't go to North Weald. So instead I've done a "post code finder" on Kents Lane, Ashlyns Lane and Wind Hill (which basically all branch off Weald Bridge Road) and written a cover letter/poster to all of them (30 in total) which I'll post tomorrow. This at least covers all the more isolated cottages/farms where people may not travel much into North Weald or the market to see the posters. C'mon Chelsea - my boss is going to notice the paper shortage shortly :-)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As the search for Chelsea is widening to include the North Weald area, I have emailed her poster to North Weald Airfield, Hobbs Cross EC, North Weald Comm Website (the lovely lady there has always said she would add missing North Weald dog details to her website so hoping she'll add Chelsea on there) and also the contact for North Weald market. If there are any helpers out there local to North Weald, it would be great if you could put a couple of posters up in your area. If Chelsea has travelled over that way and someone has taken her in and not gone down the correct channels of reporting a found dog they may be unaware she is missing so posters may well be the key. As the market at North Weald is such a big event, it would be good to get posters up around there as Caroline said because a lot of people will be around and see them....and then more eyes looking for the beautiful Chelsea. Thanks everyone, you're all doing great. :) Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I walked my dog along the footpath between M11 and Church Langley, around water tower, tracks & fields down to Old Harlow and through Church Langley woods. I stopped everybody I saw and they all knew about Chelsea. One lady told me there was a poster up at her sons school. On Saturday I drove round the Lavers, area around John Barleycorn, Carters Green. Stopped and spoke to various builders working on plots in that area. They have nice hidey holes where Cheslea might take shelter. Told them all to keep look out. there can't be many people in the area that don't know about Chelsea so hopefully it won't be long before she's seen and safely back at home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Never knew a few grapes could cause such a fuss! Had no idea they could cause problems either-good for the rest of us to know though for future reference! I must admit I just threw that in-my mind went blank trying to think of peculiar foods she liked when writing it-mostly the usual stuff but partly due to a cancer scare I was trying to get her to eat garlic, turmeric, low sugar diet etc (I think-dont quote me on it this time-stuff I read in a few books to help), also fresh raw veg-made into a game-carrots and brocolli-I think-not poisonous too I hope! The 'grapes' were melon I found my cat eating and loving along with ...ear wax!! -another had a peculiarity for salt and vinegar crisps-not that I indulged them! ... ...anyway-alot of the houses in Fern Hill Lane belong to travellers, including the stables at the top (unless it has since changed hands). I had to retreat from the site when I was asking about my Poppy when the kids decided to pelt me with stones. Perhaps it is commonplace there!? Maybe you should keep your riding hat on if you go in there again! Am still looking-looked in supermarkets yesterday and saw no posters-will print some off in case still none next time I go. Still looking-come on Chelsea.xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just quick update. It was me who postered at Fernhill and Maunds Hatch last night. As we were putting them someone came out and removed one from fence to look at - didnt like me putting it on his fence ! Was where white transit with open back parks. As luck would have it saw a traveller from old my husband (long story) told him all about her and he promised if could find anything he would get her back to me. Did believe him. I dont think she is there but will try and poster again tommorrow and near the camp at the old BP site (dont know what its called know). Will update more as soon as news - hopefully. Good friend has emailed the whole of Harlow College, given to all skip/bin collectors for Harlow and got friend who Police man in Harlow to give to local beat officiers and lots of others too many to contact. I have been following Chelsea's thread and was hoping she would be safely back at home by now. My partner is going up to visit his boys tomorrow - they live near Harlow so will send a poster up with him and ask him to keep a look out. I have everything crossed that Chelsea turns up safe and well. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

ok to update. Last night either michelle or caroline went to fernhill and postered the lamposts there. My partner goes to this estate and carers for an elderly man and this morning one of the posters have been ripped off the lampost and taken the clear plastic wallet and the tape are still on the lampost. I have got my fingers crossed that this means something. Caroline please let us know if u get a call from anyone with chelsea joeLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Drove up to Fern Hill last night and had a nosey around (think I got the right place but not 100% sure!!). Made all their dogs bark - several JR types tied up, and although I could hear one dog with a much heavier bark, I'm not sure it was deep enough to be a GSD. I left a poster on truck parked outside, and also knocked and asked a neighbour, but no joy. Also went to Second Avenue very late, and drove around there, Church Langley and Potter Street (pulled up and had a quick walk/look through some of the underpasses). Hopefully I'm not working this weekend, and hopefully boss will go out today :-) so I can print some more posters.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have postered possible sighting area - although not as many as like as had to get to work. Been to Fernhill and put some posters on lampost near suspect house and fence opposite, plus in local shop. Both guy who made sighting and ourselves are going to travel that way again at same time tommorrow. Sighting not million miles away from Church Langley woods so will walk these on sat with my other dogs. Also friend drove round Church Langley / New Hall tonight and good suggestion to give posters to the two building sites there - will do tommorrow - hopefully - time permitting. Thank you all again. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Michelle and marshall2710, have sent you a PM. Michelle, please be very careful if you choose to go to the address marhsall2710/joe passed on. I do not know the area in any great detail myself but if it is close to a site then please take care. I do believe that when both Norman (nearby area, now reunited) and Chelsea both went missing, a contact with one of the owners who had links with the travellers asked around. Come on Chelsea show yourself again and give us a clue where you are......or even better let someone catch you!! Stay safe girl. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi there sorry have been on holiday jsut got back and seen this advert. This story sounds very familiar to evadnee the white poodle that was taken and was discovered to be at a house close to fernhill gypsie site. After evadnee was found there was another incident where another dog from harlow went missing and amazingly the same people had him. I suggest sticking some posters up near there and i will put on in there local shop tomorrow. If you want any onformation regarding this house please dont hesitate to call me 07877192993. I realise that this sighting sounds promising but have the owners been in touch with Harlow Traveller Liasion officer? There is a huge gypsy site at Fern Hill (in fact my partner and his colleagues got stoned there last night responding to a 999 call for a fire!). If Chelsea has been wandering it would be very bad luck if these people picked her up. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There has been a possible sighting of Chelsea this morning. A man saw a GSD after he pulled off the M11 and was heading towards Harlow Town Centre ? the dog was seen near a block of flats near Second Avenue/Puffers Green. The man did his best to look to see if the dog was accompanied by anyone and as far as he could see there was no one around. It is bin bag day in the area today as well and a few bags had been ripped open so this could tie up with the sighting and be Chelsea searching for some food. Caroline went down to the area after the sighting but no sign of the dog. She put posters up where she could but had limited time due to work, so will go back to the area later. If anyone is local to the area and can assist with some posters that would be fab....and if you should see the bin men on their rounds, would be worth alerting them too. I lived for several years in France, Spain and Italy where esp at grape-harvest time the dogs eat masses of grapes with no ill effects whatever - don't know where that idea comes from!! My own dogs loved them and ate plenty as did all the local dogs... In fact grape pips are a good vermifuge [ie kill worms, as do most pips, eg apple, melon etc]. No ideas re Chelsea as I don't know the area, I'm on Essex/Suffolk border, hope she is spotted again soonLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As you say Caroline, it is difficult to know exactly what area Chelsea is in due to the lack of sightings but you are doing the right thinking, spreading the posters as wide as you can and notifying as many people as you can too. I would suggest it would be worth you contacting other nearby police stations if you haven't already incase she has travelled a way away from home and been picked up by someone and reported. I know you have contacted a lot of the dog wardens already incase she has gone across to another council area. Also, contact some taxi firms both locally and further afield and ask them to be on the look out as obviously they do a lot of driving around and at all different times of the day. Try and get posters to any pubs, especially in the rural area she may have travelled through as the smell of food/the bins etc may tempt her. Keep on the case....and come on Chelsea - show yourself!! (P.S. In regards to an earlier post, Grapes are toxic to dogs so would not advise any dogs to be fed grapes x)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

caroline613 don't worry to much that you have had no sightings this can be normal she may have found a food supply and also somewhere to keep warm and dry it may be worth putting some more smaller posters in the houses around near any open ground, as she may have wounded into the back of someones garden and could be in a shed or out house, I know you would have done this but be worth doing again to put some in your own neighbor's doors as she could also be hold up in one of there gardens or sheds. Josephine and that is so right about the scenting this dose work. Once again I will say this. COME ON CHELSEA LETS BE SEEING YOU. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had no more sightings and no luck with the food baits. Beginning to wonder if moved out of 'home' area. Until another sighting hard to know where to look - but that doesnt stop us. As this is rural area where she may be am postering more at places I think these people may have to go and also trying to spread some further afield with horse contacts. But please everyone just send posters to whoever you know where ever they are as until another sighting who knows which may she may have headed. Thanks for support. x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

After those huge pm's sure you're sick of hearing from me but one last thing-I know John Barleycorn area well-lots of foxes ate our chickens when we had a farm at Thrushes Bush so may have been foxes eating it or the Border Collie who runs free around that area that is very similar to mine(another 'wild dog' chase!). But on the other hand it may well be her. Is there any particular food she likes that many wouldnt? Mine loved grapes for instance. 'Squatting' trails also worth a try as pretty unmistakably you to a dog! I found taking a big bottle of water, drinking, waiting for it to pass and aiming at one end of a big bunch of sticks I'd gathered a good way of spreading my scent around! Might sound a little gross but works! Hope she hurries up and sniffs you out!xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks pontsian, glad to hear we?ll have the Harlow firemen on the look out for Chelsea too! Maybe your partner could put Chelsea?s poster up at their station so they can all see the photo too? At the moment, due to the lack of sightings we cannot be sure which way Chelsea is heading but on the basis of the last sightings Caroline has had and the route she could take through all the fields, there is the chance she could be heading to north Essex even. So keep your eyes peeled and if you could put a couple of posters up near to you, and one in your car maybe that would be a help. We are spreading the net further with the posters in the hope we will get some sightings and can establish the route she is taking and where she is heading.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Caroline, you are doing a great job, continue as you are doing with the posters and just spread them as wide as you can to get as many eyes looking as possible. I know what its like with the horses and being out competing or training.....thats the day gone but handing out the posters whilst you were there was good as like you say it has spread the word further afield. Tomorrow, it would be worth getting onto the local radio and press and see if they will help you. Also, I know the area she is missing from is quite rural in places but where there are houses/farms etc, post the flyers through the doors so you know they are definitely all aware. Stay positive, I know it must be difficult but its a case of poster power! Come on Chelsea, time to come home now girl. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still no sightings. But positive I hope one of the five scented food baits was taken last night. Have refilled and just hope it was her and not a very hungry fox. More hopeful not a fox as then all the others in area should go to ? What do you all think. The bait taken was near the John Barleycorn pub. So perhaps in area between Churchlangley, Churchgate and John Barleycorn ? Who knows ! Am going to walk Churchlangley woods this afternoon again. Have concentrated this morning on spreading posters over wider area whilst out for work and decided to leave them in all places people from these rural area may go such as shops etc. Very weird went to Norton Heath (local equestrian centre) to leave and Kent GSD club there and place heaving with GSD's ! What I really need now is someone who has seen her Weds or Today to give us a better idea of area she seems to be in - otherwise it could be anywhere on a vast area of just open countryside which has very few roads etc through it. Great you have had reports of another sighting prior to the pub one so you can conclude that the pub one was more than likely to be a positive sighting of Chelsea. Now we need some more sightings to establish her movements and if indeed she is travelling in a pattern (often dogs work in a triangular shape). Get yourself an ordanance survey map and plot both the sightings you have had, and home where she went missing from, and any other positive ones on that also that come in. Once we can establish a pattern we can move towards setting up some scenting to bring her back to a safe point. Come on Chelsea....time to come home now. Have you tried contacting your local paper Caroline, an article in there would be a help and hopefully get some more sightings in. We have a PR advisor who may be able to help so let me know if you want me to get her to get in touch. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had call to say Chelsea definately seen Monday Lunchtime on Park behind Churchgate street stores - from description (right down to red collar) it was her. They didnt think she was missing as had collar on and thought owner would be just around the corner. A friend has now pointed out poster and thankfully they rung. That makes the sighting on Tues near John Barleycorn very positive too and makes sense she could go that way. I think in the way she was heading could be Sheering area ? For some reason the system wont let me email contacts back individually ? Re possible sighting - it is all open countryside so plenty of places to run and go a long way in a short time. But will try suggestions re clothing and food, am going at dusk and dawn times. Re Fern Hill it is more likely they have taken Norman in as they are very wary of GSD ! (luckily for us Chelsea is friendly). The camp has a bad reputation and even the police wont go in unless mob handed - but there is a foot path that runs from Harlow Common down passed what was a Nursery (may still be but been a long time since I've been in that area) Can also acess from road called Ridens Lane (Ithink). caroline613 if you think this is where Chelsea could be and if there is any where like open ground like a field or something like that, and she can hide too it would be a good idea to get some of your clothing ie jumper or some of her bedding. I'm sure you will get more sightings of this lovely girl, GSD can be very resourcefully and can be very cleaver about being caught. try an turn up late at night and first thing in the morning this is when you will get more sighting of her and if you do don't run to her and also do not expect her to come to you right of way as she will be to frighten to. just sit down and talk softly and may be have some nice food for her. Hi Caroline, thanks for the update. Lets hope Sue can find out some more info on the dog reported at the side of the road and hopefully rule it out as Chelsea although obviously it will be very sad for whoever the dog did belong to. The second sighting in the area nearer to you sounds positive, hopefully once more people see the posters you will get some more sightings come in and can establish what routes she is using and what area she is staying in. Glad to see you have linked up with Jane, Norman's owner. Lets hope they are both home very soon. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Someone has just told me about a gypsy site at Fern Hill Lane, apparently they quite often take in stray dogs. I'm shortly off to work again so can't get there, but can anyone give them a try? Certainly worth leaving a poster there in case they do find her.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

From Caroline Owner. Update for all you helpful people. Negative - someone saw a dog on side of road between Hatfield Heath and Hatfield Broad Oak which looked like a GSD - but it had been removed when we went to look - the Warden for the area Sue is investigating. Much more posivitely tonight a good friend rung to say a big Shepherd had just run in front of her motorbike on road just passed John Barleycorn Pub away from Harlow. We been out there but cant find her. This is more the area we would expect her to be in. Lets hope the second sighting is her. Keep my girl safe please. Thank you for all your support.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I normally see the local dog warden on Tuesday nights, so will give her a poster and also some extras to hand out to the pet class she takes. I also have a couple of friends that may be able to help during the day if there are any sightings.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just spoken to one of my contacts at Epping Forest District Council Highways division and he'll look out for Chelsea when driving around, as he covers the area she went missing from. He's also told me where Chalk Lane is so now I know where to look. Stay safe Chelsea xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Chelsea went missing from the Chalk Lane area of Old Harlow. It is presumed she escaped. Owner has done a great job already in contacting the Police (who were very helpful I am please to say), DW, local vets, RSPCA and local kennels. She has also started putting some posters up and is going to continue that tomorrow along with ringing round more places and visiting in person where possible to leave a poster. Gave her a few numbers to try including Wallace and Gemini kennels who she will contact. She's also going to ring Battersea just incase. Stay safe Chelsea you beautiful girl. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
