What a wonderful result but as an owner of two Staffie's in Coventry I would beg all other owners to NOT let their dogs (especially pups) out of their sight for a moment...they are way too precious and will easily be 'tagged' by thieves looking to make a few quid. Heartbreaking for the owners and the consequences for the dogs don't even bear thinking about. Jewells xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh! what an absolute gorgeous piccie - Heidi, thanks you for sharing that moment with us. It's always so lovely to see the reunited photos, especially ones like that! Just one small, but very important request, could this very precious and cute little boy have a nice, new shiny ID tag on his collar to compliment his chip, as a welcome home present?!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi it's Heidi Elvis' owner. We have him back safe and well and apparently no worse for where for his outing, found in the Spon End area of Coventry. He was sold on twice but is now home with his family and settled right back in. A huge thank you to all of you whose helped, with messages of support and kindness and hands on as well.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Happily Elvis has now been found and is safely at home with the family. He was picked up Sunday afternoon and had apparently been sold on at least twice !! I'm sure Heidi will give a proper update as soon as she can get to a PC but asked me to let you all know the good news. Another success story :-) Jo (Heidi's friend)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

i cant believe the mentality or evilness in some people ... you find a dog take it to a police station and find if its been chipped ..thats if they can be bothered to scan them or to a vets , obviously we are talking honest people here to start with which does help ,but i cant believe that people just BUY a dog from someone without being suspicious , dog theft / missing dogs is so common now surely people are more aware now , unless its just me being over cautious now , even if i did not own i dog i would never take it in then sell it , its gets me so annoyed to read this , i hope we find this little darling , soon come on us honest people lets get her home xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I'm Heidi, Elvis' mum. Thanks to everyone for your kind messages and offers of help, I'd appreciate any I can get. I have contacted all the vets in the area, RSPCA, Dog Warden, Dogs Trust, Police, Pet Search and talk to Birmingham Dogs Home every day. Posters are displayed in cars of friends and family and the local shops etc. Flyers are also being distributed through local front doors and I am generally putting the word round to anyone I see and asking them to do the same. The local schools are all going to be contacted tomorrow and some have already offered to put a note in their weekly newsletter. I've spoken to the local paper about running a story but am also going to place an add tomorrow.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hey, after speaking to you yesterday in Standard Ave and then again at The Bell Inn today i have printed off your poster and have displayed it in a static vehicle and in my window. I will keep a look out this side of the train tracks in Canley - Howcotte Green Area. Good luck with the search for Elvis - I hope he returns after "leaving the building" .
